  2. MissKim, The dress is gorgeous, and seriously, I don't think you can find another thing like that on in North America for less than $300. Hilly1gh, Your dress is WOW, I love the lace and the train!!
  3. StephandChad, If you have the luxury menu, you can pick items from the regular/romance menu..we picked the salads and the soup from the romance menu..and the rests from the luxury menu.
  4. 24 Mint Condition Turquoise Blue Chair Sashs + 5 color matching table runners Perfect for destination weddings... Buyers pay shipping and local pickup is also welcome.
  5. JoanneIreland, LOL, yeah..my hubby said the same thing! All 3 photogs are very professional and talented, given that they didn't took pics on the same occassion, I can't really judge who is the best. My hubby prefers Sascha better, because he likes b&w pics and Sascha's editing style. Therefore it is a matter of personal taste. Wedding pics are just like kids, no one would find their own pics/kids...ugly and your friends and family would never told you straight out that your pics/kids look ugly. LOL MissKim, I paid in full when I ordered on DHGate, so I didn't have that problem with price hikes.
  6. Vettiebean, I don't know if it was my grannie (my grand mom walked me down the aisle) who almost fell or me who almost PK...but I am glad that it didn't happen. I am sure you will be a beautiful bride on your day and everyone will ENVY you! (especially your FI's lunatic admirer!) LOL Good luck..try to don't STRESS about everything on your day! just CHILL and ENJOY!
  7. thx! 1) Very happy with Ivan 2) He is very talented, and good! Given I can't swim and can't stop making faces of a dying drowning swimmer, he really worked hard to get these pics! 3) I waited a bit longer like 3 months before I got some teaser, but he is TOO POPULAR, compared to 6 months of wait from a local photog in MTL, I am pretty happy. I used Sascha Gluck as my wedding photog, and he teased and delivered in a shorter time horizon..I used Cecilia Dumas for my engagement pics, she delivered in 3 days! Sascha and Cecilia are AMAZING photogs as well. I got around 125 pics, and almost all touched up / edited... 4) 100% recommend to TTD in cenote, it is not like u have this in ur backyard anyway. I also trashed my dress on a beach...
  8. hmmm ok here are my thoughts... I have a lot of admirers (aka males friends), some we dated or/and engaged, some we are friends since teenagers...in fact I don't really have girls as friends. 1) She definitely LOVES/ LIKES/FANCIES your man. and thinks he too shares the same feeling. 2) Your man must shared the same feeling sometimes in his past. No man would cuddle and kiss and answer to calls/ text/ phone date if they are not interested. If he said he never saw it this way, then he must be a closet gay or a liar. 3) Better be mean than be sorry! Like chinese saying, empathy to your enemies is cruelty to yourself. My hubby got used to my male BFFFFFFs because he knows that I don't have any female friends...and somehow he understands my admirers, but I basically eliminated all his female BFFFFFFs except 2 (one was his first gf). If I don't feel comfy, s/he is out and off of his friends' list. I draw my line on the sand during our earlier days, it is my way or no way. It is ok to be bold and direct. 4) Coming from the other side, one of my ex was dating a girl and kept telling her I am his bfffffff....I was pretty much just a good friend after we broke up. One day, we went for brunch, after a few mimosa, I told her that she got a nice deal, if he wants me back, I would go back with him asap (I said it as a joke), but he took it very seriously...he dumped her on the spot! the chick went into tears..and I was in shock and very guilty. Yes, we were engaged twice, he is still my bfff, and we still say love u once in a while. We were too young and the timing was always wrong (and eventually we accepted it, sometimes something is not meant to be). However, we don't text at 2 am, and phone date....and forget cuddle and pecks!
  9. Vettiebean, There will be many and many crazy brides here...entertaining/encouraging each other..if one day I stop posting. oh Did I ever mention that I almost fell on my face when I walked down the aisle?! lol
  10. For anyone who is planning to do an underwater TTD, choose a lace dress! I just got back my pics, my dress was STUNNING underwater!
  11. Just received my underwater TTD from Ivan Luckie...they are AMAZING pics. Not easy to do, and I don't know why there were so many muzzies....the wait was a bit long, but totally worth it!
  12. well, my parents backed off because they felt bad to invite other relatives to have an expensive trip..my best friend was so desperate to find a man that she married to an old ugly dude that she met online and she moved to St-Louis...due to immigration laws..she couldn't leave USA. my other best friend got prego...yeah...thx god and I just stayed on course, and I enjoyed my wedding day and wouldn't change a thing!
  13. Vettibean, Keep us posted. I recently saw on his blog that he started to do Underwater TTD too, and the pics are amazing!
  14. nope, the ribbon also stayed pretty intact on the second day...
  15. MrsJohns, Sapphire's beach is nicer...but their suites aren't that as nice as the Royal's. Even Sapphire's BEST suites are no comparison to the Royal's mastersuite..so forget to compare it with Royal's president suites. If your future hubby has a big group of boys to hang out..a mastersuite at the Royal is the answer. Food, service and LOCATION too..Royal beats Sapphire 200%. However Sapphire is CHEAPER, and accept kids. Royal also got Gran Porto sister hotel next door..but ur guests can compare them like heaven and mortal world within 3 mins. Therefore, if your guests are trapped with budget and/or kids...goto Sapphire NOW. If they are super picky and very used to a luxury life..goto the Royal.
  16. lleow, Most of the Suzhou dressmakers export to Europe and North America already, and the labor cost is relatively cheap. That is why most of them are willing to deal with online clients given the incremental variable cost per dress made is so low. As for their local market...Have you ever met a bride/ client from Mainland China? Some of them are like "I would rather jump off the bridge than serving her" type. Plus, unlike online trasctions, when it is face-to-face transaction, they can't really/ not easy to just give the money back and ask the bride to find someone else+good luck with your dress and your future husband. Usually, they can charge more to local brides, because brides can see+touch the real dress in real time with all the tiny details. It is harder to charge higher price to an online client based on a photo. As a result, some will use cheaper quality materials to make the same dress to compete online.
  17. yeap 11-11-11 is a hot date to get married, I assume most of the popular places and photogs are booked. Good Luck!
  18. The Royal's guests can goto eat/drink/hang out at the Gran Porto, but they rarely do, because the Gran Porto looks like the 3rd world compared to the Royal and the Gran Porto guests can't goto the Royal..unless they buy a pass. During my stay, our Gran Porto guests could sneak in...until the security caught them..and remember their face! The upgrade from Gran Porto to Royal was $60/per room a nite...so for $30 per person per day (assumed 2 persons/ room), it was WORTH it and way cheaper than the day pass!!!Therefore, welcome cocktail is doable at the Gran Porto, but their liquors/ boozes are not as fancy as the Royal's. As for welcome dinner...maybe it will be cheaper and more fun to goto somewhere else than eating at the resort, there are plenty of nice restos on 5th avenue and surrounding.
