Dianna, I think..about 100-200 pages ago, there was a bride who ordered the same dress from Gianniar, I don't think anyone can make it...the original is made with handcut silk.... here are pics of the end product...

Misst, I don't know why u picked that vendor for a dress that needs heavy beading skills, but I think u can ask them to add more beadings. Plus, it is hard to judge from photos, usually the real dress is more beautiful.

Nan, hahahaha...thx. I think Nicola is more allergic to bugs' bites in general! Some people do attract bugs, but don't have extreme reaction to the bites. Others like my dad, who is NOT a FAVE in bugs' eyes, but he tend to have EXTREME reactions (i.e. very very bad swollening, leaving dark marks) to bugs bites. Therefore, it varies from person to person.

Nicola, Those are sand fleas or sea humms...very common in Cuba (small tiny tiny bugs that eat u alive)! I guess u got them when u were sitting on a chair, because the blood tend to stuck in the legs...ouch ouch...You can avoid them by ...stay away from the sands or put citronelle spray. The citrus smell spray made by Biotherm does the same thing. I use an electric device (thermal cell) all the time at night. It depends on the skin type/ skin odors, between me and my mom...all bugs would pick my mom as their main course, and between me and my FI, the bugs would pick me! So unless I got my mom next to me, I would bring thermal cell with me! Nan, if ur resort is in Playa Del Carmen (in the town), then it is ok! No mosquitos! If your resort is next to a wood/bushy area...or laguna...then good luck! Mexican Muzzies are strong and aggressive, our OFF spray is not strong enough! It depends on the season and of course...how attractive u are to the bugs! Spring-Summer after rain..is the WORST time.

I found both the original and the knockoff version look like an undie/ a night gown. I think with a chiffon overlay, it will look better.

OK, I know this sounds a bit mean, but I will say it again, DO NOT order ur dress a few size smaller because you think you may loss some weight if u r lucky/stress/happy/angels watching over u...etc. You didn't achieve the current weight because you were unlucky/relax/unhappy. Of course, if you are dedicated to loss weight and run like a hamster on a wheel 24/7 and eating rabbit food every meal, then it is different story. Your man love the way you are, and a too-small dress is not repairable.

Primavera, yes u have to pay in full when u order ur dress. Since u are getting married in April, it is getting tight in terms of timing. It usually takes 2 weeks to make a dress, then 1 to 2 weeks to ship.

Chicagobride, u can book a room at the Real resort for 1 night, so ur vendor is guest...so u can save some $$$

Imara, The USD is depreciating against the RMB like a poopie going down the toilet, so the price will not go down. I always laugh at all those US politicians and Obama..when they said the RMB/Yuan needs to appreciate...well well be careful what u wish for. ..the result will be.. The Jeff Liu dress looks fine, but it doesn't really look like the original...given the wedding is in April, maybe it is time to hunt for a sample or 2 nd hand dress in local stores.

Since my engagement pics were taken in TTD on the beach style, I will trash my wedding dress underwater. My FI weared a black linen shirt with white pants, and I weared a green runway Prada dress, the pics turned out to be very vibrant!
