I forgot to mention, if you're crafty the diaper cakes are supposed to be simple to make. There are even tutorials posted online to help you make them!

I'm in the same situation right now. I'm helping throw my friend's baby shower next weekend. Her registry is pretty much bought up already so I decided to order her a diaper cake. I just bought this cake from diapercakesmall.com: http://diapercakesmall.com/images/me..._Ocean_MED.jpg It coordinates with the bedding she registered for. I think I might add the baby record book she registered for to complete the gift. A friend of mine forwarded me this site with baby games: Baby Shower Games from Baby shower 101 I'm not in charge of favors so I don't have any good ideas to share. I hope this helps!

Tomorrow is my one month mark- how has time gone by so quickly?? We leave in 3 1/2 weeks and I'm actually going to start to pack. Everything is beginning to feel real! I hope everything is going well with my fellow July brides!!

I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. I think it's very kind of you to want to honor him at your wedding. I've heard of people leaving an empty chair to symbolize a loved one not present. I also like your idea of the rose petals and your DH's idea about a poem or some recognition in the program. Whatever you choose to do I'm sure everyone will be thinking of him and know he is loved and missed....good luck.

Since most of your guests will be happy to be on vacation, it's really up to you how much energy and organization you want to put into your wedding...I'm sure you'll be fine! how many paper lanterns?
