I agree with Erika...the one email stream is a must!! This way you have all your wedding planning information and quotes in one location. You can easily print this one email stream before you leave for your wedding to back up the prices and expectations. Again, good luck!

First of all, welcome to the forum and congrats on your engagement! I'm really sorry your planning has begun with so many bumps. I too have found my hotel not very helpful with booking rooms at a good group rate. So I contacted a travel agent. She's been doing a good job facilitating questions and booking rooms for my guests. Some guests are booking on their own because they found a better deal. Do you have a TA? A good TA might help you with some of your concerns. Most WCs take a long time to get back since they're on "island time" or busy planning another bride's big day. I'm pretty sure most of us have had frustrating moments waiting for a response. Hang in there! I'm sure your wedding will be wonderful!!

I feel your pain! When we ordered the invites the woman at the store made a comment about calling people who didn't RSVP after the date had passed to find out the response. My FI and I refuse to call anyone. We had some people not rsvp to our engagement party and the stress and frustration from that has made us decide not to extend the courtesy. I have no sympathy for people who do not rsvp. Unless someone specifically calls you and asks for more time I would count them as a NO. When a plane ticket, time off from work, and a hotel reservation are needed I don't think anyone will decide last minute especially with the high prices. Good luck!! P.S. My rsvp date is May 4th. We should compare notes and see how many people actually don't respond. Haha.

Aww Mrs. Martin! My best friend can't attend my wedding and she is so upset about it. Of course I will miss her but my thinking is that she will be a friend throughout our marriage. Her love and support will be appreciate much more during our marriage than just the day. Congrats on your pregnancy, enjoy it and don't dwell too much on not being at the wedding. I'm sure she'll know you're there in spirit!

The Paradisus Palma Real and Paradisus Punta Cana offer a complimentary wedding package when you book either 5 nights in the reserve or 7 nights in royal service. The package includes: -a symbolic ceremony -some decor -bride's bouquet -groom's boutonniere -a dinner reservation for 6 guests -wedding cake -other special amenities for the bride and groom All of the info is listed on their website. We're taking advantage of this package since we're staying in RS. The hotel is charging $15 for each extra chair for the ceremony. We added a cocktail hour and made our reception a private dinner.
