Wow, so detailed. You must be very computer savvy. Great ideas - there were several details I never thought of. -

Keep in mind that with the old rooms, there are all the categories (garden view, ocean view, and honeymoon suite. If you look at the map you can see that some of them are near the beach near the 2nd wedding gazebo) and with the new rooms too. Thanks sunbride!

I feel like I should know this already but can somebody clarify the room categories for me? When trying to book on the hotel website or through a travel website such as orbitz they do not call the rooms Dreams suites or hacienda rooms. I assume the cheapest room a "Deluxe Garden view" would be a hacienda room, but then the next cheapest room is a "Jr. Suite Garden view" and then what is a "preferred" room b/c those seem to come in both dreams and hacienda. Also, do all the rooms have a/c? I know they recently remodeled does anyone know which rooms they did and how you can get one of those? Thanks in advance!

Thank you so much for your review!! I am getting married at DT in Nov. 2010 so it is good to see you had nice weather. Were those candles on your reception tables? If so, did they stay lit? -
Dreams Tulum 12/23/09 - it was AMAZING!

Thanks for the review. Good to know about the hair and make-up since most brides need those services. I guess I will bring inspiration pictures and try to keep a flexible and open mind. -

I've read some things on this site, but still do not have a good feel for what/where that pool is. Our reception is going to be at the relaxed pool, so I want to make sure there is going to be enough lighting for a 6p-9p reception. And is it terribly far from the Bar? At our receptions, how do we get our drinks? Are there waiters that go to the bar for us? Hi AchiCAp0547 I haven't done a site visit, but thought I would let you know that the "relaxed pool" is the adult pool. Starlitk had her reception there. Maybe you could check out that review.

Again, it was in the early stages of being built, so I'm not sure exactly what it is, but it really looked like it might either be for private dinners or maybe it will be an outdoor massage thing. Thought I'd give you all an update on that. Is that near the gazebo by the Seaside Grill? Do you think it will take away from the privacy of that gazebo? Maybe it will be a free option for a covered outdoor reception rather than having to rent out the Seaside Grill. If so, fingers crossed that it is done by November;-)

MaxandKatie thank you so much for an update. I am floored at how helpful this site is that even after your wedding is over you come back and help us out - so nice! I am interested in doing the ruins and snorkeling with my guests. I noticed that you can book online before you get there, but I think remember reading somewhere in this thread that it might be cheaper to book through the hotel or pay at the gate once you are there. Do you have any recommendations on this? I am looking for the cheapest option. Also, did you guys do a guided tour? If so, is that worth it?

I joined forever ago, but as the wedding gets closer I am really starting to rely on this forum! (so still trying to get used to logistics of how everything works) Yes please! I would also love to hear about anyone's recent experience with the make-up application and who they used. Another beauty service that nobody ever talks about is manicures/pedicures for beautiful wedding hands. On the first page Sunbride said all brides were NOT happy with this service. Is this still true?

I plan on bringing pictures down to guide the staff on how I want everything. I am pretty sure that you don't need to do anything special to shape it. After everyone on this forum that have decorated their gazebo, I'm sure they are pros.

If so, how are you planning that transition? How many people are attending your wedding/reception? Hmmm.... I wonder if that is every Saturday night or just the week you will be there. Thanks for the info!
