I'm torn now I would prefer having my FI in a white before my Dad. Because the suits are so nice I'm willing to order FI another one! :-) Oh, thanks! I thought they were just out of stock but they probably won't get those colors back. That's a tough decision...the Greek beige would be my choice too!
  2. Wow, thanks for the great, detailed review!! I loved the part about the music and how you just went with the flow!

  5. Like others have said, this site is absolutely AMAZING!!! I don't know what I would do without it!! Happy Planning!
  6. Thank you to everyone who posted pictures and shared their experience! I just briefly looked at the website and I am wondering did mostly everyone add satin to the pants. It makes sense if they're a lighter color and fabric. Also, I only see six colors of the eight, Greek Beige, Natural Linen, Black Linen, White Linen, Dark Brown Linen and Old Tan Linen. What two colors are missing? Thanks again!! Quote: Originally Posted by FoxyBride I ran across this site today while looking for an outfit for FI and his groomsmen. If you are planning on a March 2011 wedding, I would definitely get a jump start and nail down your date. I am a June 2011 bride and in the past few weeks, i have seen many dates for June being taken so If you know which resort you want to get married at, I would definitely get in contact with the WC there and see what you need to do to secure your date. You may want to first check with your WC to see what the cancellation policy is. I know that at our resort, we can cancel up to 6 months before the wedding and still get our deposit back. That allows some time to still see what rates will be like. So it was easy for us to just send the deposit and secure our date knowing if for some reason the rates end up looking really high, we still have the option to pick a different resort. Hope this helps Happy Planning! Wow, this helps me LOTS! Thank you!! I'm planning on getting married in January 2011 and we've picked our city of where we want to get married, just not the resort and mainly because I want to see what prices will be then. I think I've just realized, we need to pick a date and book it with a resort and then find out their cancellation policy...ahhh, I feel like a light bulb just went off. Then we could send out a STD with the month and city we're planning!!! Again, thanks so much!! Its going to be a busy weekend working on STD's!!!
  8. Hi Linds, I went to a bridal show in Airdrie a few months ago and there was a lady there that sells them out of her home, she says she has 200+. You buy it right then and there and take it home with you. She doesn't do alterations, so you would have to find another place if you picked one from there. Her prices are $499 or $699 and her dresses are new. The company is called Taffeta and Tulle. My friend last summer bought her dress from the Bridal Group on 16 Ave across from Co-op and her dress was under $800. But I think you save money if you take the one off the rack, but again, I'm not sure! I haven't been shopping for a dress yet but I would think with a budget of under $2000 you should find one! Happy Shopping! I can't wait to go too!!
  9. I'll check ebay too! Does anyone know if/where you could buy them in Canada?? Thanks!
  10. Hi! I'm from Calgary and I was snoopin on your guys' Edmonton site I haven't been dress shopping yet but thanks for some of your great ideas! Quote: Originally Posted by sheila2011 Wow! I ended up with a dress by Elegance Bridal...total shock to me that I got the dress I did! And it was the first one I tried on, nothing else felt like that one! Here's a link.... Style 8611 What a beautiful dress you got!! I will definitely be trying one on just like it and hopefully it will fit for me! I see you are getting married in Punta Cana in January too! Where and what resort are you getting married??
  11. They look AWESOME!!!! Could you attach the template? Where did you buy the paper from?? Thanks for the info, didn't really think I could do them myself...but maybe!
  12. Hi...I'm planning a wedding in Punta Cana from Calgary for January 2011! I'm trying to narrow down resorts, I feel like I might just be a little bit behind! I can't believe how many people are 'secretly' getting married before they go. I saw some prices of $550 + $300 USD. Wow...those prices are shocking! We're now going to way out our options.... Thanks!
  13. I was there in April last year and I may have encountered a sprinkle on one day but other than that....HOT! I was also there in April 2004 for a wedding and it was BEAUTIFUL the whole time! If you can stay away from spring break!! Happy planning!
  14. Hi Aella! I am in the EXACT same boat as you and I feel like I just can't research enough to find my answer! I've also read SOOOO much that once you get there, nothing else matters but the people you're with, so I'm trying to keep that in mind. Can't wait to hear what you've chosen!! Thanks for the advise richarsd on the price thing! I think for me, I just want as many people to go who can so I want to find the cheapest place for them and our family! I will keep what you said in mind. Also thanks to Jerzshortstuff because I thought I could remember everything that I read but now I'm getting confused as to what I've read on each!
  15. Wow, thanks for the info! You look fantastic!!
  16. No, you definitely don't have to include her in any of your pictures. Its up to you who you want in your pictures!! Its YOUR wedding!!! With that being said the BM might want a picture with you and your FH with her. As much as you and the family don't like her, he does. Hope that helps!!!
  17. Hi, I am considering this as one of my resorts. I know someone who got married there in 2008 and she loved it! I haven't tried contacting the WC yet but I figured lots of you have information packages, could someone send it to me? [email protected] Thanks!!
  18. Boo - Wow, your dress is AMAZING. I love it, and when I go dress shopping I'm sure I will try one on just like it, just not sure it will fit me right! Kayley - Awesome planning thread! Have fun!! Can't wait to see pictures!!! MayanLily - Its tough you feel not right about your dress, I would definitely sell the one you have now and find THE one!! Pam - I haven't started dress shopping yet either, so I don't even know what prices consist of but you will find the one for the right price! Happy shopping, I'll be in the same boat soon enough!
  19. You will find tons of information on here!! I think you will consume so much info to finally pick your venue! Good luck! Happy Planning!

Our friends showed up at our place and we said "we just need to do something before we go for dinner...we're kind of getting married right now". They just laughed and were thrilled to be part of it. We had the ceremony right there in our living room and our officiant Jackie had a great casual program and threw in stuff like "do you Kayley vow to never give Jeremy a hard time when he wants a guy's night out?" and "do you Jeremy accept that Kayley will buy herself a pair of shoes for each guy's night out?" It was really fun and we laughed lots. Then we went to the Keg downtown for dinner and told the waiter that we just got married. He brought over a bottle of champagne (on the house!) After dinner we went across the street to Spur to catch the last quarter of the Lakers game and the bartender there gave a round of free shots AND turns out she is also getting married in the Mayan on the SAME DAY as me! I don't feel married at all which is great because we really want the wedding NEXT WEEK (holy crap, I can't believe it's almost here) to be the real deal. That's awesome Kayley!! Congratulations! You won't even think about it when you're down there! You must be leaving soon, have a fabulous time!!
  21. Thanks so much for the info! I'm not sure if/how much it would be to ship to Canada but I may look into this for my TTD and even BM dresses! Thanks!!!
  22. Hey MayanLily, thanks for the info! Wow, I think I'm behind a bit. Originally we were telling people that we were getting married in November but now people are booking their vacation time for the year so it probably won't work now in November. I'm so clueless about this stuff! I think you're right! We just need to pick a day and run with it. How did you know that flights will align with your date or did you? Thanks always! -Eryn
