I am planning on doing the same thing, and it is reassuring to hear someone else that did not pick out photography prior to getting to the resort. Congrats and can't wait to see some pictures!

Reception

We will be at Sandals Negril in December for our wedding, and we are just going to one of the restaurants after the ceremony. It will only be 6 of us, and quite honestly, I don't understand paying $75 per person plus table fees, if you want them all to match your particular MS wedding theme, when food and drinks are included in the resort. I guess for larger weddings, you would need a reception since they can't reserve tables for large parties. My FI and I are saving to buy a house after the wedding, so we are going as simple as possible at the resort, except for our rooms - at both Sandals Negril and Sandals Whitehouse (our honeymoon site) we reserved concierge level rooms! Plus, we are having a reception back home. Hope this helps -

I checked their website and I would love to go with them! I too am doing a BB wedding, and my colors are hot pink and orange, so the purple flowers don't fit, and white is too boring. I was going to bring silk, but Floral Fantasies is reasonable compared to silk, and MUCH better priced than upgrading at Sandals. I'm getting married at Sandals Negril in December... Thanks!

Hi Jamaica0510! Another Negril bride You will have to share pics when you get back. Are you staying at the same resort for the whole trip? We are doing Sandals Negril for one week for the wedding, and then when our friends leave, we are transferring over to the Sandals Whitehouse for a honeymoon week. How did you arrange an off premise ceremony? Was it difficult? There are a lot of us from PA! I live right outside Philly in Delaware County...Don't know Lancaster very well, except for the outlets! I've heard that you are allowed to pick 50-210 photos for the same price, and then you can get the same number of photos on the CD for $200 additional. It doesn't come with a DVD like the $1200 package, but you would have more photos. Also, the album isn't a padded album with prints that slide in - the digital photos are printed directly on the pages of a hardcover book, and the book's cover itself is a photo that you can select. I'm thinking about this option now since it seems like you get a little more for your money - My FI is insisting that we wait until we get to the resort or get closer to the date to make a decision though on what we want to do just in case our budget changes (up or down). I agree with sweetiecat. I was informed the same thing, that if you buy a digital album, you get 50-200 pictures, and you can purchase those same pictures on a CD for $200 additional. I too am waiting until we get down there to book any photography. I had heard stories that if you book ahead, you can't change your package.

A few questions
Josie1073 replied to jamaica0510's topic in Sandals, Beaches, and Royal Plantation Resorts Weddings
Hi Jamaica 0501! My wedding is at Sandals Negril in December! From what I understood from my TA, the day passes could only be obtained for the actual day of the wedding. My MOH and the MB are single, and not dating, and they were both going to stay at Beaches, until they heard they could join us at Sandals ONLY on the day of wedding. So, instead, they opted, as friends, to share a room at Sandals. It's only the 4 of us going, so it would have been a real shame to only see them 1 day of the 5 days they are spending until we leave for our honeymoon- unless of course we left the resorts... Not much on your questions, but I hope this helps a bit! Rachel -
Forgive me, but I am new here. Just booked Sandals Negril for this December. How do I get the Finishing Touches book? So far, all I have is the MS wedding info, but I am only doing the basic free wedding. I would like to upgrade some things, perhaps my flowers, but I didn't receive that book. I have a planning session booked in 2 weeks with my WC, so I would like to go over more info before speaking with her. Also, I agree that maybe I should hold off on booking my photography - I might want to change it when I get there, but could that mean that I wouldn't have a photographer, if I wait until I am there? My main concern is that the packages only give a small amount of digital negatives. I would rather pay for a CD, and develop at home. Any ideas?

I am getting married at Sandals Negril and we have 2 singles coming, the MOH and the BM. They are going to share a room just to save on costs even though they have only just met each other! We considered Beaches for them, as it is right next to the Sandals, but then they would only be allowed one day pass to join us for the wedding, and the other 4 days they are in Jamaica, they would have to stay on the Beaches property, or we would have to meet them off the resorts. We wanted both of them to enjoy time with us through the week, not just the day of the wedding, so they opted to share a room, as friends, at Sandals. Sandals Negril would have let them have their own rooms, but they didn't want to pay double occupancy. Hope this helps
