I even deleted a paragraph wedding day because I was afraid it was too long. So don't worry, you'll do great! Thank you!!! AHHHH! Does the same go for every other thing on a person's wedding to-do? I am SOOOO behind. But good news is, I work well under pressure, maybe once I hit the 3 month mark (and boy am I close) I'll get my butt into high gear and start attacking my to-do's. I guess I can just blame the crazy hormones! It looks like we will be switching to Dreams Puerto Vallarta for April 2011. Our TA basically told us there was no way we could get the same rate at AS, but I'm not even sure they checked into it. Oh well... I can't wait to see pic's from the weddings I've miss recently... especially Amy (Kittenheart) with all of the detail you put into yours...I'm sure it was absoltely amazing! As well as everyone's else's! Good luck to all my old friends and to all the new ladies on this thread! I'll have to check back every once in a while and see how it's going! Crista Crista, I am so glad that you have checked in and things are going well for you. How far along are you? Do you know what you are having? How has pregnancy been? If you need any advice on what to expect while expecting or what to expect with a newborn jus PM me. I've just been through it...well I guess "just" isn't the right term. My little guy turns 1 next month. So bittersweet!

Ok so I've been off for a few days and am trying to catch up so please forgive me if this has already been brought up but for those brides getting married this summer or this fall, are you worried about the oil crisis? A guests brought it up to me today and I don't know why I've totally been spacing on it and not thinking that way. (I guess I'v got a lot going on.) But now I am really worried. I emailed my TA and she said "who knows what the tide will bring in by October" and that it's hitting Florida now so we can only hope for the best. Ahh. I know this is a very small issues especially considering what the real crisis is and if no good seafood, bad swimming and oil infused water ruins our pictures. Ok enough whining. Just wondering what your other thoughts are. Thanks ladies.

I may do a mini planning thread for my Vegas wedding, searching this forum there is literally no info and only a couple Vegas planning threads. My wedding is just a exaggerated legal day but maybe someone will want to do this in the future. Ha. Yes, I was talking to you! I meant the ones with the beach on the front...the ones that you had your BM mail back to you. No worries though. I am googling my ass off. I am sure I'll find something that I like. I just wish I was more computer savy. I plan to incorporate hummingbirds on mine as they are a new theme. FI and I love them and they were his Grandmother's fav thing. She won't be there bc she passed away but now a piece of her will be. Also, in Mayan folklore the hummingbirds have an interesting story about being created from other bird and have a marriage ceremony. If I find the story I will pass it on for all of you.

Amy F, question for you if you don't mind sharing your secrets ... where did you find the image that you put on your postcards? Vistaprint is doig 100 free postcards this week and want to print mine (we are using them to make a guest book) but i cannot find an image I like. Looking for something that looks aged. Any idea where to begin? THANKS!

Ladies - I just stumbled upon th emost amazing find. Too bad it's way out of my price range...but here's hoping you have seen something like this for far less than $500. Essentially it's a wedding genelogy chart that goes up atthe reception. It links of all of your guests to you but this one does it on a vintage inspired map of constellations. How cool: Wedding Constellations Genealogy Chart NEW by melangerienyc Hmm..anyone know an astronomer that could help me with this for less than $550? A girl can dream right?

Very NO! FI and I love it there...originally wanted to have our wedding there but the place I loved was booked and then figured it would be too hard do a DW in NO...easier at a resort that does them all the time. Plus I wanted to offer guests AI. Ahhh, maybe for our vow renewal one day. Girls got to dream. Quote: Originally Posted by thefuturemrslutz I LOVE Lake Travis!!! And Austin!!! I think these resorts rent those chairs from an outside company. Maybe they own the chairs for the wedding, but have to order more for the reception? Who knows! How much are they charging you for the chairs? Maybe you can try to talk them down on the price if they will not move them for you. I think I am renting my silver chiavari chairs for $5 per chair. Surely they can help you on the price. $1500 is ridiculous!!!!! I feel the same way about Austin. Wendy, that sound like an amazing AHR. $5 per chair! That's amazing. They've quoted me $12 and they said they cannot budge on the price. I mean, I'm requesting 140 (for the ceremony and reception) you think that they would cut me a break. We will go out to dinner, have the limo (or pink cadi) pick us up, and take us to the wedding chapel. hahaha Then we will go out afterwards. My brother and his gf are going, and maybe 1 other couple. I am still debating on which "theme" I want to do, but it is going to be HYSTERICAL!!! Dueling Elvis's, Blue Hawaii, Pink Cadillac, etc are all SO funny. I really cannot wait!!! How freakin' fun! You can try but I wouldn't risk betting that the onsite coordinators will change their mind. =( That's what I was worried about. I guess I'll just book them for the ceremony and try my darndest to get them to move to the reception. I just gannot pay 1500+ for chairs. FI would die!!! I must say that if Amy didn't get what she wanted with the time she had to get it, I'm thinking we may be disappointed. It really aggravates me that we are paying so much extra (for the Sky Deck) and I'm not sure about you but I'm not really using the stuff that comes with it (i.e. the programs, bouquet, hell I'm not even using the officiant). I just feel like they could at least do this for us. : I know, I feel the same way. But then again. AS is so not willing to budge when it comes to money, I'm not really all that surprised. Please keep me posted on your head way them and I'll do the same! When you have your meeting with the onsite and Lomas coordinators, you pay any balance you owe (spa services, extras, etc) and you also have to pay their set up fee (determined at your meeting depending on everything you have for them to set up). The set up fee must be paid in cash. The rest of the balance I paid using a credit card (only Visa & MasterCard). The WCs probably pocket the cash - so maybe you can sweeten the pot for your coordinator who might be willing to bend the chair rules for a hundred bucks or so? Maybe worth the try?? My thought exactly. I'm booking them for the ceremony and will totally bribe to have them moved. Thanks for the advice!

Ladies that have already been married, this one's for you! What do you think the chances are that I'll be able to convince (or that they'll be kind enough on their own) the onsite WC to have my chivalri chairs moved from the ceremony on the sky deck to my reception at plaza zavaz for the set-up up fee? I am having 70 guests and its not in my budget to order them twice but I am sooo obessed I cannot do without them. I know that they are def in for my ceremony as I cannot imagine looking back at pictures and seeing any other chairs there. (Again, I am going for the antique look/feel and the other chairs just won't cut it.) I am having a cocktail reception between the ceremony and reception somwhere other than the reception site. (They are also moving my ceremony flowers down and don't want my guests to be there as they set up) so there should be enough time to have htis done. My WC told me I had to order chairs twice but hoping you'll think that I'll be able to work something out once I am there. Thanks!

Hi Ladies! Congrats on your upcoming weddings! I am also October 2010. 10/10/10 to be exact at Azul Sensatori in Puerto Morelos. 4 months from today exactly. How exciting!

You girls are too funny! Got to love all of it...the planning, the encouragement, the compliments! And you are all so right! Amy, don't stress...Vegas is all about fun. Just go with the flow and I'm sure it will be amazing. You are a master wedding planner after all. Lindz, so happy about your photographer. I can't even imagine the stress that must have caused you! Wendy, what's coming up, AHR? Where are you having it? In Austin? Love it there. FI ad I may move there soon. Fingers crossed. He and the baby have been so sick for the past month. First the stomach flu and now strep (sic?) throat! Between that and traveling to NY for work and Boston for college reunion, I really could use some family around. And I think Austin would be a nice change of pace.

We were told that each guest must place a deposit of $200 per room and that if they do not, we will be responsible for paying the deposits. It sounds like we may have received conflicting information, but I could be wrong. Anywho, I hope this adds to the "info pot" in some way or another. :-) Nope I don't think that it's conflicting. I had to put down the deposits after the 30 days. Enough of a deposit to equal 5k. After 30 days we were short about 1200 so I paid this difference. Now that we have so many guests booked, that's getting refunded. I did have to aks for the refund though. MY TA at DW.com did not refund as guests booked. Hope that helps

Ok so looking back, maybe I misunderstood a bit. I blocked out 25 rooms (but we've already booked 27, yay!) We had a month to get enough people to put down a 5k deposit. So I guess that works out to $200 per room. I asked guests to put down a deposit and then we paid whatever was left of the 5k. Since some people paid in full straight away, ended up only being about 1200 and we're getting that refunded this month now that I have 50 some odd guests booked! Whoo hoo!

For those of you going back and forth about the signature drink, I am doing my ceremony on the Sky Deck and it the service includes one signature drink. Also, I have qualified for the free cocktail hour (so says my TA anyway). Tiffany originally told me that I didn't but apparently my TA worked it out. We'll see when I get my detail sheet though. Anyway, the cocktail reception includes wine, beer, soft drinks and a signature cocktail. Looks like we'll behaving two! Hopefully that helps some of you.
