I am allowed one (big) broiled crabcake! Even if it wasn't offered when you put down your deposit, it doesn't hurt to ask. I've been doing that and have gotten a few thousand dollars knocked off things so far. Thanks so much! I doubt everyone will be up dancing at the same time but very good to know. When I say my guests like to get down, I mean they like to get down. Can't wait to dance with everyone. Good to know. When I booked the free wedding package wasn't even offered but I am going to push for it! That'll be another $950 saved! Except for the things I'l have to add back on. That said, does anyone know what comes with the free package? Thanks.

Honestly, keep checking back here and see what the other girls are getting and ask your TA. Honestly when I started I had to get at least the silver ($2500) package to upgrade to the Sky Deck and then I saw girls who booked after me only had to book the Pearl and upgrade. I asked and they changed it for me. My WC told me I wasn't eligible for the free cocktail party ($500 value) and technically I booked 2 days before the promotion started by I asked my TA and she got it for me. All in all asking for those things saved me nearly $2000. Thanks for sending me the info. Now I see the Sweet Free Wedding Package is being offered again. Hopefully they will let me downgrade to that one. Savings of another $950. Probably won't happen but doesn't hurt to ask! We got married married at sensatori. soooo exciting!! I miss the anticipation! Thanks for letting me know. I don't know why I thought AB. Sorry I am a little overwhelmed as of late and I guess I can't keep things straight. So did you have your reception at Plaza Zavaz too? That's where I am having mine....for whatever reason in the pic that my old WC sent to me the thatched roof gazebo looked so much larger than the ones I have been seeing in other people's picks. I am having about 70 guests. Do you think that there will be enough space there? Especially cause I am going to have a dancing group. I need to make sure there's enough space for everyone to get down.

I am having mine next weekend. I know that's early by I am traveling back home to Baltimore for a weekend full of festivities. It's my mom's bday and we are having my son's 1st bday back there so we can be with family. Its alvery exciting just a lot to get done in the 3 days.

Hi Ladies - First off I should say that that there has beena lot of great back and forth happening here and looks like a lot of fun is going on. I have enjoyed seeing Lindz and BigBop's BD pics and Meghan, I loved looking at your wedding pics on facebook. Looks like you guys had a great time. You got married at AB, right? OK....so sorry to cut that short but I just recieved an email from my TA that my WC has been replaced. So not that I was the biggest fan of my AS WC (Tiffany) but now I am worried that everything that she's confirmed is going to get lost somewhere and I will have to spend hours digging through emails and such to catch my new WC or prove that I deals that I've been able to negotitate with Tiffany. Maybe I am freaking for no reason, but you ladies all know how it is. I am sure one of you will tell me not to worry and that's exactly why I came here first! So thanks in advance! I also wanted to see if anyone has worked with or is working with my new WC, Carolina and what your thoughts are about her. Please share if you don't mind. Thanks so much!

And will be thrilled to recieve such a wonderful exciting and thoughtful gift like this. I bought a cheap set of satin sheets to drape across me to hide certain areas, and it turned out looking sexy and intriguing. Take a few different pieces of sexy lingerie, and one of your FI shirts to wear! I wore one of my FI dress shirts and it turned out to one of his favorite shots. Good luck and have fun with it! All great ideas. FI is from TX and very proud of it. Maybe I can wear a hook em' horns or something. He'd love that. We had our wedding photog (a friend) shoot my pregnancy photos last summer and I wore a men's shirt. Those shots were the best. Maybe I will have to revisit. It was the most beautiful day ever and I want to do it all again! I"m so tired right now, so I'm going to be short, but all I can say is it is a FANTASTIC place to get married. No one has any reason to worry at all. I will post pictures as soon as I get some from friends. If anyone wants to add me on facebook to see pics, please do (meghan yao!) we used an ipod and it was amazing. I would not spend the money on a DJ. The wedding coordinator acted as an MC, but my brother did as well and he was amazing. We also did not have to operate the ipod. The sound system guy did. Sound system was fantastic! I was quite impressed actually, and I good music was really important to me. Everyone danced and rocked out right till we were cut off at 11. It is Zavaz Plaza. That is where we had our reception, and we had the blue glasses as well. We asked to have that other thatched roof area, but they do not allow people to use it for private events anymore. I think it is $9 per covered chair, and $4 dollars for each bow. Not sure what the cost is for uncovered chairs...maybe $4? we didn't have additional lighting, and didn't need it. The sound system is $250, but we rented it for an extra hour and a half to take us to 11 pm for another $75. $325 in total....super good sound! Yay! Welcome back. I am so glad that it was amazing and that you had good weather. We were all hoping for the best for you and so glad it turned out that way. Yay. I was head over heels in love with Azul Beach, and yours and Wendy's weddings were SO beautiful and amazing there, but things happen for a reason So our back-up plan is probably going to be Barcelo Maya Palace. It's a HUGE resort...the complete opposite of AB...but my TA has a lot of good things to say about it and I love that there are different options for the more budget-conscious guests. We'll just see where the road takes us! I hope you gorgeous ladies have a great holiday weekend...don't set anything on fire with all the explosives around...I'm gonna keep my hose handy just in case! That really stinks! I am not sure what you are looking for but when I was frustrated with my WC I thought about switching. I really liked the Real Resort in Playa. It had everything I needed (non beach ceremony, allowed kids, babysitters, etc) and was cheaper than AS. I hope that helps some. I have been back and forth on it for some time now. My FI is doing an amazing bachelors weekend at our friend's house in Monetecito/Santa Barbara. IMO, the iPod is a good idea but I just didn't want to have someone tethered to it which once a few drinks hit they'd totally forget. I've also heard nightmare stories where a bunch of people keep changing the song once they find out where it is. The $1,300 gave me so much piece of mind and they did a great job and provided fun lighting and announcements that I emailed prior to their arrival. That is Zavaz Plaza. Definitely let me know! I love wine and we are super close I definitely have a lot of wino friends as well I can bring! I have never met her but funny enough, she's having her wedding about an hour away on the beach and I'm friends with her cousins out here! Small world, she's just super sweet and invited me so I'm going! Linds - I can't get over how adorable Ryan is... seriously I didn't know men like that existed. You're one lucky girl! Mine doesn't have a romantic bone in his body Thanks for filling me in. I think the glasses are pretty just not sure about adding another color to the table. Good to keep in mind as I hit the fabric store for my sutom table runners. And yes, I'll keep you posted about our little wine gathering. I also wanted to ask you what sort of information you put on your "thank you for booking" cards and did you do somethign separate with all the information that guests need? I was thinking about combining the two and sending out a "thank you for booking and now that you're coming, here's what you need to know about the trip, what to pack, local weather, etc..." I just have no idea where to get started. In fact, if anyone has any advice or examples I'll gladly accept. Last...I think today is Meghan's wedding day? Right? OH I hope she has good weather...wasn't looking good this am but I really hope that changes for her. Meghan...sending you happy wedding day vibes!!!

I totally plan on rocking an awesome party every year. Screw the old "get me jewelry" crap and instead "lets throw a rager!!!" OK, more like, get me jewelry and throw a party.... haha Oh God yeah the DJ from Lomas was expensive. $1500. I saw a wedding 2 nights before mine have the iPod system and did their own music and they were ROCKING out on the dance floor all night. So, I think its possible. Its just one more thing you have to think of during the night. Although... if you did it yourselves, you would not have to have "I like Big Butts" at your wedding.... Such power as the girl in white !!! I never heard your engagement story...man I have to search back and find it. Love the idea of a party every year. But ones that are less stressful...hmm...maybe just a vaca. I could totally use one of those right about now. At least it is a 4 day weekend for me! As a party favor, I bought everyone a hot pink flashing diamond ring, black sunglasses, and a "what happens at the bach, stays at the bach" cup. I wore white sunglasses. So, you can imagine all 8 of us galavanting around town in our lil outfits and accessories. We went to this FAB sushi restaurant for dinner. When I got to dinner, Ryan had surprised me with a little note and 3 bottles of Veuve Champagne for all of us! SO sweet! He had his bachelor party in Atlanta the same weekend. Saturday morning we woke up to bloody mary's delivered to the room (8 girls, 1 suite by the way). Then we went to brunch and hung out at one of our friends' condos for awhile. When we got back to the hotel, my friends Jaime and Jenn had decorated the ENTIRE ROOM!! It was soooo precious. Email me and I will send you a link to the pictures. AND we had a "Party Gals" party. hahah It was hysterical (just google it). It is basically like a sex toy party but for bachelorette parties...so imagine lingerie and glittery powder, drinks, games, etc. It was a BLAST!!!!! We then got dressed and went out to eat and hit the town again. We had our own personal chauffeur the whole weekend (he was really a cab driver in an Escalade) but he drove us EVERYWHERE! So great! There were sooo many great memories, lot's of laughs, and NO DRAMA (surprisingly enough)!! perfect weekend...BUT I paid for it until yesterday...was seriously still hungover from the weekend! Still cheaper than $1500 from Lomas but I could have sworn the banquet kit listed the DJ for $1300. Hmm I will have to look back at that. I just added a DJ to my detail sheet this week. If you do want sunset time, make sure you see some shots from the photog you pick taken at that time of day. Not everyone is good at capturing shots in that light. The sun sets in the West so while you'll get the "magic hour" no matter where you get married, assuming you shoot at the right time, but you won't capture the actual sunset. I love that we both had cupcakes! Mine did get decorated but the thing that went horribly wrong for me was that the 30 person amazing limo NEVER showed up. BM had both rings, MOH was freaking out because she didn't have ring so when I turned to hand over my flowers, she is laughing and red and pulls off her engagement/wedding band and hands it to me and I'm like what are you doing? She goes "I don't have his ring!!!" Good times I want to see it! [email protected] So funny about the rings...that's why having two ceremonies is perfect. best of both worlds and much less pressure the second time around. FI and I are honeymooning in Paso Robles after Mexico. We love wine country and haven't been there. We were going to go to a LA court house for the legal ceremony but think we might do it in Paso if possible. Much more us and would be nice to go back there every so often and say that we got married there. Yay. for two ceremony locations! And my TA just suggested Beaches Turks & Caicos...no offense but why in the world would she suggest that 300+ room resort with Sesame Street characters everywhere?! Its actually comical. I don't get how she would think that me saying I love AB's intimacy that BTC would be a plausible suggestion! WTH? So sorry about that? Why not another Azul location?

All - So I am having a little trouble visualizing al the decorations I am considering for the ceremony and thought creating a 2-d diorama (who would have thought it was spelled that way? I didn't until i googled it. Ha.) and plugging in little pictures of the flowers that I am thinking, etc. This way I can try several options and see what they look like. Thing is, I am cannot find a "clean" picture of the sky deck...that is one without a ton of people or one with just simple chivalri chairs. I would use photo shop to take things off the pics but I am so not a tech person. And that's where you all come in. Does nayone of a picture of the sky deck sans people, preferrably without a ton of decoration or one that has chivalri chairs as opposed to covered chairs? Here's to hoping. Thanks so much!!!!

Lindz - I saw that you still haven't booked your flight. Did you try Bing's farecast...it shows you the risk factor for booking....mght make you feel more comfortable. Also, FI and I booked through Orbitz since they have their price assurance...anyone books your same flight for less they send you a check for the difference. It may not happen but made me feel a little better about paying $380 per ticket. Hope that helps

My wedding is in Dec, and I am trying to get a lot of my planning done now because I coach college volleyball and our season is from Aug-Nov so I want to get as much done as possible NOW. Anyways, anyone who has been married there, I am thinking of having my reception in the area by the pools and I was wondering if anyone had had their reception here, if so, what kind of lighting was supplied if any. I am not wanting big center peices and I remember one bride saying she didn't have center peices and they put candles on the table anyways. There is a thatched roof structure and I was wondering if they put any lighting under there or do I need to ask(and pay) for that. Thanks!! Are you talking about plaza zavaz? If so, my WC told me that there's plenty of ggod light and you will not need to supplement with anything else. DH and I are actually bringing white xmas lights though and having them strung around the palm trees that enclose the plaza. I originally also wanted them strung from the ceiling under the plaza's thatched roof but was told that they couldnt do that. Does anyone know otherwise?

My mom is turning 60 this year and wanted to go to Paris but due to my wedding and my sister's divorce we had to downgrade that unfortunately. I suggested a cruise which is her fav vacay and it stops in Cozumel! The cruise is 2 weeks from now. Does anyone know the best way for me to get to AS from Cozumel? The 20 min flight from Cozumel to Cancun was suspended and I hear the bus from PM to Cozumel is very sporadic and I can't miss the boat Also, I know a lot of you are anxious about certain things so IF I can find a safe way to get back and forth AND get back to the boat in time, I'll be willing to scope out things that you guys need. My WC Cecile made it seem like its no big deal to get the site visit scheduled and she offered me a food tasting. I'm just waiting for her to get back to me about the cake tasting. I feel like I've gotten so much info from the ladies on here so the only thing I'm still nervous about is the food. So, I'll keep you posted on all of this. The dat for the site visit would be Tuesday, July 13th. Yay. That's great. (Not about the downgrade and divorce but you guys celebrating together and the possible site visit.) I know that will help put you to ease and can't wait to hear all about it. Please keep us upcoming brides posted!
