  1. Does anyone know what the $150.00 charge for the sand ceremony at the Riu Montego Bay covers? We were planning on bringing our own vases and sand, is there still a charge?
  2. Did you end up with the beach location or the gazebo location? I am getting married there in June 2011.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! We are already booked for June 25, 2011. All of the resorts should have the room rates available now. I know that airfare rates for June 2011 don't come out until August though. We are all using a TA. It's much easier that way because they will take care of a lot of it for you.
  4. I am getting married at the Riu Montego Bay in June 2011. I also got the free package and will have around 50 people. When you do the semi-private dinner they just block off one area of the restaurant for your group. It doesn't matter how many people you have, it doesn't cost extra. I don't know what the price is for the private dinner though. I think the free package also includes cake and a champagne toast for up to 10 people. You can upgrade those for an additional cost without going up to the next wedding package level.
  5. I am planning my wedding in Jamaica and really want to stay at the Riu Montego Bay. I have read many reviews here and on other sites and have a few questions. Is the ocean full of seaweed and swamp like? Some reviews say that it is really bad and others say that it is nice. How bad are the planes flying into the airport? How many per day? I appreciate any help anyone can give me!
  6. I definitely needed a task list! Thanks!
  7. Congrats and welcome to the forum! I have stayed at the Dreams Tulum in Riviera Maya and it was beautiful. I'm sure all of the Dreams resorts are! Have fun planning.
  8. Thanks for the heads up! I was actually thinking about ordering my invitations from them. I will be looking for my invitations somewhere else!
  9. I think it would be ok to ask your guests to pay for lunch as long as you make it clear from the beginning. I personally would not mind paying for my own lunch if someone was paying for the trip.
  10. Congrats and welcome to the forum! You will find a ton of great info here!
  11. I am also getting married in Jamaica in 2011. I am waiting to hear back from the Riu Montego Bay on some pricing and available dates. I found a good thread on here with a bunch of info. It has a lot of attachments with price lists and anything else you can think of. Unfortunately you have to have 150 posts before you can open them. Hopefully you can still get some good info from everyone's posts. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...chments-37144/
