She was okay for the short time that she was with out her luggage as she had taken my well traveled advice: In your carry on luggage- toothbrush, toilettries, cosmetics, hair essentials, clean undergarments, sleep wear, extra t-shirt or blouse and of course a swimsuit. I have also advised that for the wedding trip she include her wedding shoes. DO NOT CHECK YOUR DRESS OR SHOES!!! There's definitely some great info on this thread. I never would have thought of putting my shoes in my carry on but this makes sooo much sense. I'm in love with those things and would be heartbroken if they didn't make the trip! Does anyone have any recommendations for a good steamer? I tried to look up some reviews but they all seem a little vague.
  5. Ladies, I've been missing out on this thread! Confession - I sincerely hope that my "friend" who not only took my wedding date, but refused the request to be IN my wedding after I agreed to be in hers AND keeps saying that since she's getting married the month before me she has "to see if they have enough money left over" to come to my wedding decides to just STAY HOME! Frankly, I have been cordial about the situation, but if she comes at the last minute I CANNOT guarantee her a chair at the ceremony or the reception ($12 per chair) or a welcome bag!! Better bring comfortable shoes and your own sunblock!! I feel better already!!
  6. Wow! You're details are so amazing. I hope my planning thread is half as good as this. Great job! Your guests are going to have the best time.
  7. cjb0arder13 - I'm totally a prude too! That's why I never gave it a 2nd thought. But I am researching it now and if I do it you gotta go it. I don't even have as much time as you have and I have more than just a little jiggle, but I think I'm gonna suck it up, get typsy one day and do it! I'm trying to recruit my MOH to do it with me for her husband. Too bad he's the one who took our engagement pics and she said hell no when I asked if she'd be comfortable with him doing my BD pics! Lol. bigboponthebeach - I've been on the invitations thread lately but you're on a roll girl! I'm almost positive that unless someone slips me a mickey I'm not gonna go totally nude either. I like the idea of a sheet and one of his shirts. Don't even think I can do the panties although I just racked up @ Vicki's Semi-annual sale! I'll put you on standby cause I may text you for a little pep talk when I do it. amandamarieb - I say we all do the BD shoot. I'm game now! Still embarrassed but all in! Too bad if I were you, I'd want to crash that bachelors weekend tho!! meghan - Welcome back MRS!!! I'm glad you had a great time. I know it was a little rocky at one point but it all paid off if you had a flawless wedding. Can't wait to see pics!! Was the WC at your reception the whole time to work the iPod?
  8. DIY?! That's amazing. I love the detail you put into them and I too love your website! Great job!
  9. You may want to check out Dollar Tree for the mini lint rollers. I saw some there a couple weeks ago. Your bags are great btw!

I see a lot of people saying they will be renting equipment? Is the reception included in your package? Thanks in advance, i'm looking forward to hearing what everyone is planning! Nice to meet you. I'm doing the pearl package (not sure if it's offered anymore) and adding on to it. There were a lot of things in the more expensive pacKages that I knew I wouldn't use. Wednesday rolled around, and they said they needed more time to finalize plans. I'm just over it all. My biggest fear is that even if they say they'll be done by Christmas, they'll go over and my wedding would be smack dab in the middle of construction. My TA asked for a quote for Sensatori, and they were "kind" enough to give us a "great" deal...$7 cheaper per person than our quote at Azul Beach. That's right, $7. There's no zero missing AS looks like a stunning resort, but honestly I'm just so mad at Karisma right now for this run-around I want to wash my hands of them. So...not sure where I'll be getting married, but it will be somewhere in the Riviera Maya (since we've already booked our flights). You ladies have been the BEST support system, and I will definitely keep reading this thread to see all of the upcoming brides' weddings. Good luck to everyone!!! That's ridiculous! They could've done better than that! I hate that you may have to move, but the peace of mind you may gain will be totally worth it. Follow your heart and don't forget about us if you move! Especially since you joined like 3 months after me and have beaten me to it....guess I need to start posting more! I flipped when I got rid of noob status. Also, happy that your 1st guests booked. I felt the same way. It was kind of a relief that it was confirmed that FI and I were not gonna be the only ones there. Lol. Have a great weekend!! Thoughts and Opinions? Thanx I say do what you're comfortable with. If you have a budget then do as much as you can within that limit (although all of us know that's easier said than done). I think that whatever you come up with your guests will appreciate. They are coming for you and your FI, not for what you will have for them when they get there. Maybe you can look into getting the private cocktail reception (should be free for up to 50 ppl if the promo is still going on) and then do a semi-private dinner at one of the restaurants after? I'm not creative either. Just do a lot of googling and searches on this thread. Plus the ladies right here have lots of great ideas that I've stolen!! I chose to get some of the items for my welcome bags and the actual bags from Dollar Tree www.dollartree.com (that's my 2nd home now). I looked everywhere for bags and feel in love with some on Etsy - Your place to buy and sell all things handmade, vintage, and supplies that were personalized but the lady was no longer making them. Since I was stuck on personalizing them I looked for that and didn't find any that were in our budget. So lo and behold I went to Dollar Tree and they had the cheapest bags with the best quality in my opinion and we're going to embroider them ourselves. I just looked on their site for them and they're not on there anymore but they may have some in the store. They come in red, blue, green, yellow and pink. We also made some bookmarks to go in them, door hangers will be made, sunblock, luggage tags, welcome passports, etc. Also, Wal-Mart currently has beach towels for $2.50 if you can fit it in your luggage. You may also want to look on here for different threads. One girl posted a list of options to put in your OOT bags. HTH! BTW AmyB, your bags were really cute! I'm gonna check out that site to see if I get more ideas. As a party favor, I bought everyone a hot pink flashing diamond ring, black sunglasses, and a "what happens at the bach, stays at the bach" cup. I wore white sunglasses. So, you can imagine all 8 of us galavanting around town in our lil outfits and accessories. We went to this FAB sushi restaurant for dinner. When I got to dinner, Ryan had surprised me with a little note and 3 bottles of Veuve Champagne for all of us! SO sweet! He had his bachelor party in Atlanta the same weekend. Saturday morning we woke up to bloody mary's delivered to the room (8 girls, 1 suite by the way). Then we went to brunch and hung out at one of our friends' condos for awhile. When we got back to the hotel, my friends Jaime and Jenn had decorated the ENTIRE ROOM!! It was soooo precious. Email me and I will send you a link to the pictures. AND we had a "Party Gals" party. hahah It was hysterical (just google it). It is basically like a sex toy party but for bachelorette parties...so imagine lingerie and glittery powder, drinks, games, etc. It was a BLAST!!!!! We then got dressed and went out to eat and hit the town again. We had our own personal chauffeur the whole weekend (he was really a cab driver in an Escalade) but he drove us EVERYWHERE! So great! There were sooo many great memories, lot's of laughs, and NO DRAMA (surprisingly enough)!! perfect weekend...BUT I paid for it until yesterday...was seriously still hungover from the weekend! Sounds like so much fun! Email me the pics when you get a chance.
  16. Does anyone know what DJ they use at the resort? I've seen a lot of good reviews on DJ Doremixx but I think he'll wind up being about the same price as the one they offer once you pay the outside vendor fee. I know we've probably discussed it before but I just decided to try to get one so I didn't pay attention before. We were going to use our iPods but that's making me nervous now for some reason.
  17. Lindz, sorry I'm late! Meredith's list 1. Insure my ring - DONE! 2. Cocktail party decor - DECIDED ON IT BUT NOT PURCHASED 3. Follow up on invites 4. Work on AHR - VENUE BOOKED!! 5. Come up with ideas for BM's shirts - WAS TOLD NOT TO 6. Decide on menu for reception - ALL ON FI 7. Get thread for welcome bag monograms Meredith's new to do's: 1. Invites, invites, invites 2. Get thread for welcome bag monograms 3. Stay on FI about menu 4. Buy luggage tags for welcome bags 5. Buy paper lanterns and candle holders 6. Start looking for gifts for my helpers 7. Book cigar roller for reception 8. Buy confetti for ceremony
  18. Ladies, I'm heartbroken because I will not be able to do a site visit next week. However, I have to say that AS was very accommodating and my WC set it all up. The problem came from my end because my mom INSISTS I'm destitute and need to save my money for the wedding/honeymoon. Too bad she's been talking about what she's gonna do for 60 for the past 2 years. So, I, in no way wanted my wedding to interfere with that. I got sick of fussing about it so the cruise is officially off. I still tried to look into keeping my site visit appointment but flights are more expensive than I expected.

Lately I have nothing of substance to talk about unless it involves the wedding (sad, I know). But now I have you ladies for reference. 22. So Ladies, I just found out this week that I may be able to do a site visit!! I'm so anxious about it it's crazy. My mom is turning 60 this year and wanted to go to Paris but due to my wedding and my sister's divorce we had to downgrade that unfortunately. I suggested a cruise which is her fav vacay and it stops in Cozumel! The cruise is 2 weeks from now. Does anyone know the best way for me to get to AS from Cozumel? The 20 min flight from Cozumel to Cancun was suspended and I hear the bus from PM to Cozumel is very sporadic and I can't miss the boat Also, I know a lot of you are anxious about certain things so IF I can find a safe way to get back and forth AND get back to the boat in time, I'll be willing to scope out things that you guys need. My WC Cecile made it seem like its no big deal to get the site visit scheduled and she offered me a food tasting. I'm just waiting for her to get back to me about the cake tasting. I feel like I've gotten so much info from the ladies on here so the only thing I'm still nervous about is the food. So, I'll keep you posted on all of this. The dat for the site visit would be Tuesday, July 13th.
