  1. Everything in our bags will be generic too. We are however personalizing the actual bag. Each one will have the monogram of the person's last initial. If you were wanting to do something like that instead of changing around what's IN the bag that may be easier.
  2. I'm not sure if waiting and hoping they don't come at the last minute is a good idea. You will be waiting with anxiety and he/she will be out of money if she doesn't decide to back out but is told later on that she was never invited in the first place. I know it's hard and you don't want to ruffle feathers, but think about the fact that this is one of the most important days of your life. IMO I think you should have your FI talk to him about it now. Just let him know that you would rather he bring his actual gf (if you don't mind her coming) or not come at all. He should respect that the girl makes you uncomfortable and you don't want her there. Or if you don't even want to go there, blame it on finances. I mean you would be shelling out money for her to attend so it's only right that she not be there if you don't want her to. If he's a true friend he'll understand and if he doesn't oh well. It seems they're not that close anyway. HTH!
  3. Great job on these! It serves as inspiration for me. Oh and HAPPY WEDDING DAY!!!!!
  4. I agree with you ladies about the twist being exposed in the 1st week. Who does that?! I also agree that this group isn't as interesting as others. What is Kristin's purpose anyway? Maybe she's more involved when the cameras aren't taping her....oh wait they're there 24-7....DO SOMETHING! Maybe you ladies that view more than just the show see more than I do, but I'll argue that they need to come up with another twist or two to make this season a little more interesting.
  5. I just wanted to point out how much I learn on here.... I was watching Top Chef Wednesday and saw the seasoning that AmyB is using for her AHR! Never heard of or saw it before this. I think it's because I'm from NO and we have our own local seasoning. Who knows? And, I watched Big Brother Wednesday (or maybe it was Tuesday) and one of the houseguests was trying to spell journeyman to win a challenge. I was like "I know what that is now!!" It's sad how the silly things make me happy these days.

  7. Another BB lover here!! I loved The Mole!! I hate that it doesn't come on anymore. I was clueless who the mole was until the end and I have to say I'm clueless now too. I also think it's Kathy but it just seems too obvious. I'm also liking the Kristen theory. When FI and I watched the veto episode we both were like who is that? I don't even remember them introducing her on the 1st episode. I don't know about the 2 life-long friends. I'm thinking that was just something to get them all worked up. A journeyman was a craftsman who had fully learned his trade and earned money but was not yet a master. To become a master, a journeyman had to submit a master work piece to a guild for judgment. If the work were deemed worthy, the journeyman would be admitted to the guild as a master. Yeah. I work overnight 7 days and I'm off 7 days so it's not so bad. I like having the set schedule and I get differentials. Otherwise, I would rotate and work 6:30-3, 9-5:30 or 1-9:30 and that's too random for me. Plus I like the fact that I essentially work like 14 or so days a month but get paid full time pay. I needed to get away and not do any wedding planning because I was beginning to get stressed out with the family drama around me. I cannot believe I am posting this on a public forum, but I am having issues with my Mother and she has been making this wedding planning a nightmare as opposed to something fun. I'm her firstborn and only daughter and I guess my expectations of her involvement were/are a little higher than her perception. Anyway, I'm channeling and processing it all and working on beginning to accept that although she has the funds, she just might not be at or involved in my wedding. It hurts, but it is what it is. I just never invisioned my wedding day without my Mom being front row and center stage. Lots of lessons to be learned in life. Moving past the drama and resisting the urge to emotionally dump here....and back on to weddings!!! We got our STD's back and out in the mail. I will be honest and say that I was on the fence about them and almost hesitated to send them out. We found an awesome seller on Etsy and while I loved all of her other work and samples, I don't think my idea translated over well via email. I wanted something very natural and organic. I love raffia and we are using Burnt Orange as our main color with sand brown and white as accents. After seeing our STD's, I am starting to think we might need another bright accent color. I am a tomboy and not a big fan of pink, so that color is out, although I have seen other weddings and I think those two colors are beautiful together. Any suggestions of an accent color to go with burnt orange that don't give off a "fall wedding" feel are greatly appreciated. Because I know how much we all love photos, my STD's that I sent out are below. We placed thins self-adhesive magnets on the rear so that people could place them on their fridge if they chose to. Any ideas for a pretty accent color?? I'm sorry you're going through extra unecessary stress with your mom. I know it's easier said than done, but remember the focus if it all....you and your FH!! You still have time and maybe your mom will come around. Have you tried to have a heart to heart with her? Maybe if you bear all of your feelings she'll get the hint and step up a little more. Your STDs are really cute!! I like them. I would also agree with Lindz and incorporate lime green and/or a turquoise or aqua maybe. FI wants to post something on our website saying we have decided to go with just immediate family and bridal party..is that ok or super tacky? I think it's a combination of both I would say deal with it when it comes along. I was paranoid that people's feelings were hurt if they weren't invited, but most understood. Also, know that everyone won't come. We sent out 100 STDs (about 200 people) and less than 50 have booked. On the flip side, don't invite people you don't want to be in close quarters with or people you don't think will mesh well with others. Since it's gonna be a small wedding you WILL have to deal with everyone there on a more than usual level compared to a large wedding. I completely agree with AmyB about having people "on your side." That way some of the battles can be fought for you by others AND a lot of the chattering will only occur in the background. You may never hear all of people's concerns and that would be great if that remained the case. Let someone else deal with all of that. It's hilarious but hey, again, saving money and they give me like 4.5 inches and so far seem pretty comfortable. here's hoping. i've only walked around my apt in them so might have to give them a longer trial run. Also, I am getting a custom monogram made from a gal on etsy. She sent me 9 options today! 9! And they are al pretty great so I just need to figure out which one we like and go from there. I think I might ask for more than one in hi-res so I can use them for different things. If I can figure out how to post them I will. I would love all of your feedback. And those of you who told me about Carolina...you are right. She's pretty amazing. So if I can get my pre-wedding brochures done this weekend, I will feel really accomplished. Sorry for my rant. 17. Thanks Ladies! I actually was thinking about re-ordering the ring bearer shirt. My nephew is a year old and he has been hooked on his blanket (like Linus from Charlie Brown) since birth. My mom jokes that the only way we'll be able to get him down the aisle is to have his blanket up in front. So I was gonna change the "armed and dangerous" part to "just don't touch my blanket." Thoughts? Maybe I'll just make that a separate shirt.

Well this isnt a vacation is you bff wedding and i am really PISSED! This is so sad and I feel your pain. When planning a wedding especially a DW people's true colors are exposed and some of the people we thought would go to the ends of the earth for us act like we shouldn't expect such. I hate that you're going thru this but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that a "true" friend would sacrifice a trip with her bf to be there for you on one of the most important days of your life. So what do I do? Gain another 11lbs. We had a lot going on in the past 4 months, but I have no one to blame but myself. A part of me just wants to cancel the session and not do it at all. And also, I don’t fit into my wedding dress. It fit in January, but I can’t zipper it up anymore and I don’t have enough time to lose the 21lbs I need to to get my dress altered in time for the wedding. And I am a Weight Watchers leader!!!!! I help and motivate my members every week and I’m not even at my own goal! I feel like such a hypocrite and every time I think about my dress not fitting and how fat I will look in my BD pictures it gets me so upset. I feel your pain on this! I always thought that my wedding would be all the motivation I need to lose weight. It seems like the stress of planning alone adds on pounds. Like someone said tho, you already have the tools you need to lose the weight and you have time. Think about having to go buy another wedding dress and the fact that it would probably be ultra expensive and possibly not ready when you need it. Maybe that can serve as your motivation. As far as the BD shoot....do it! It's something that a few BDW ladies convinced me to do and by no means am I at my goal weight, but FI loves you the way you are and you have to embrace that. Hope it all works out for you!

Maybe I am freaking for no reason, but you ladies all know how it is. I am sure one of you will tell me not to worry and that's exactly why I came here first! So thanks in advance! I also wanted to see if anyone has worked with or is working with my new WC, Carolina and what your thoughts are about her. Please share if you don't mind. Thanks so much! I don't have her but I think it will all be fine. Like AmyKH said, they have all your info in a spreadsheet. When all else fails ask for a supervisor. I'd say don't stress about anything unecessary. Cross that bridge only IF you come to it. Quote: Originally Posted by daniepps 24 days to go and I feel like I still have everything to do!!!!!! Its alvery exciting just a lot to get done in the 3 days. This sound like lots of fun too! Definitely make sure you have an energy shot or two. Who needs sleep when you're gonna have all of that going on? Lol!

FI wants to stop it there and I may agree later on but I wanted to give out a small photo album to have them put pics from the wedding in. "Capture the Moments" Mini Satin Photo Album Since we have less than 50 guests coming I wanted to take the time out for FI and I to take a pic with each family and send that photo with our thank you cards. I thought FI would have used it before I did but he hasn't done anything with it either. On the Bridesmaids/Groomsmen page it's updates for them. I wasn't crafty enough to do a newsletter so when I need to update them I shoot them an email and tell them to refer to the site. I did it this way because when it's all over we can get the website saved to CD and I wanted to keep all that info in one place. The password is meredith if you want to check it out. I had grand ideas of things I wanted to do for favors, but DH convinced me that our families weren't the keepsake kind of people. And he was right. Anything we gave them would have most likely ended up in the trash. If we'd had friends there it might have been a different story. Our "favor" to our guests was a sailing trip. Marla - I agree...that was very creative of him!! I'm glad your ring worked out afterall. That would've been a shame if they couldn't fix it. It's similar to my ring. Wendy - Thx! I was always paranoid that I would be caught off guard and I would wind up being embarrassed or something. I always imagined him doing it in front of a bunch of people. But what he did was great and we'll always be able to laugh about it! That's also one reason I made him get down on one knee in our engagement photos. I was!!! I was running around the house cause I thought he was somewhere hiding and waiting for my response/reaction. I ran everywhere opening doors and screaming. Lo and behold the last door I opened was the guest room and there he was looking like "what's going on"!!! Hilarious! So we started calling everyone and his cousin asked, "Did she say yes?" He looked at me and was like I don't even know! He told her, "I assume it's yes she's running around with the ring on her finger." Definitely not what I always imagined but priceless all the same! The new TA is saying it might be better to wait a little while to see what kind of deals and promotions might be available. Help Please I would say ask her about price matching. My TA said that if we found a lower rate anywhere that she would match the price. Needless to say, my guests have been on top of that, they even called other TAs and no one has beaten her price yet. Maybe if she offers that your guests will at least be reassured that they're getting a deal.
  21. I forgot to share with you my 1st thread! I hope I did it right! I got some t-shirts for my flower girl and ring bearer and of course I had to get one for myself. I thought the site was really cool and they always have coupons, so check it out. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ees-com-61125/
  22. I'm glad to hear you two are doing better. Your situation has been on my mind because let's face it...this could happen to any of us. Keep your strength and faith and I'm sure things will fall into place. I have to say that looking at the bright side of this situation, when you guys finally do get married you will already know how to fight thru a tough battle. Just keep the tools you are using now close at hand for the rest of your relationship and hopefully the two of you will be able to tackle anything that comes your way.
