As sad as it is ladies, there are many more people in this world that let their ignorance (lack of knowledge) rule them. I was told that my FFIL wasn't coming to our wedding through the grapevine. And the reason.....wait for it.....he doesn't want to be kidnapped by any Mexican drug lords!! Little does he know, they would give him right back! The kicker of this whole scenario is, we live in New Orleans. Can we say top 5 cities as far as murder rate for as long as I can remember??!! But they're all soooo excited to come here for Mardi Gras. So, I say f--k trying to make others happy and be as selfish as you wanna be!!

Huge Forum Update 7/27/2010: Please READ!
dstinationdrmr replied to TammyWright's topic in Forum News & Updates
I would like to add to the praise that you have received for creating this forum. You are amazing! I know people say things simply to be polite but I have to say that without this forum I would be a deer in the headlights when it comes to planning my wedding. Not to mention I wouldn't have met all of the wonderful ladies here. So....THANK YOU and I'm looking forward to the updates! -

Keep meaning to check my reciepts, but we had guests, so I will try in the next couple of days. No transport/taxis are at the resort. If you need one, you'll have to get the luggage men to call one for you. However there are usually a few parked just outside on the roadway. I think they sit there hoping for a call. From what we saw it usually took about 5-10 minutes. Not sure what the prices are though. Thanks for that info! I appreciate it. Cecile was Fantastic and answered every email within 24 hours im spoiled another question to everyone I was told our chairs come with the SKy Deck wedding but will we have to pay for the chairs at our reception at the plaza?? I had Cecile too and she was always prompt. That's how I knew something wasn't right even before I found out she was gone from the ladies here. My new WC is Carolina tho so hopefully it will work out ok for the both of us. With the Sky Deck, the chairs and chair covers are included (12 I think). You have to pay for any additional beyond that from my understanding. For the reception, the chairs would be included but not the covers. Yes, as silly as it sounds, the chairs for the different events are not created equal!

I tried to call today and was on hold for 30 min with no response. My wedding is in October and I need to make some decisions and FAST but can not do so due to the change in WC. Oh, what to do? Ok, Kortney, I feel your pain! I also had Cecile and emailed Fabio over a week ago and just got an email yesterday (after my TA intervened) saying that Carolina is my new WC. Sadly, be patient and it will all work out. I know that's easier said than done especially since you're so close to your day but I'm sure it will all work out. I have got things to cross of my list damn it and this asking and waiting a week or two for an answer is for the birds. can you ladies tell that I have had it today? Forgot to mention that I called my FI on my way to work this am to make sure that he had gotten ahold of the last groomsmen yet to buy his suit. And then he alerted me to the problem that two of these aholes, I mean groomsmen (joking, I do love them all) have been slacking and now the suit is not avialble in their sizes. Honestly, melt down does not describe the way I feel right now. I am more like a valcano ready to erupt. And today's my son's 1st birthday. This morning was just perfect, we played and open presents, went out to breakfast and now all of this. I swear, I am not going to let a moronic TA and slacking groomsmen ruin this day for me. Chin up. Amanda, I'm sorry you were having a bad day. I hope today is better for you but I feel your pain. STILL no word from Fabio and I think FI is getting his hopes up when it comes to his groomsmen. Only 3/5 have booked for the wedding and his bachelor weekend in Miami was cancelled because they couldn't make it all of a sudden. They suck and they're irresponsible (that's a whole other story) and when I mention it I'm the bad guy. I just think he doesn't want to admit they don't have his best interest at heart. So, at least you can say you love all of your groomsmen (showing you the bright side) because I cannot say the same. I tolerate them and that's about it. I like Island Princess too and its a plus that there's a personal connection that you can share regarding the name. That's better than pulling one from thin air IMO. -

Bridesmaid dresses help?
dstinationdrmr replied to Mccrary's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Try J. Crew and Anne Taylor also. They have a bridesmaids section and usually have really nice things on sale. Finding all of the sizes you need may be your biggest issue though. -
help me pick a dress please
dstinationdrmr replied to eholt's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I like #1 but love the sash on #2. Have you thought about adding a sash to #1? Then you'll have the best of both worlds! -
Chong - Don't act like you don't know me if you do see me!! Lol. Spanx? I know you can get them from Saks, Dillard's, etc. I don't think it should cost that much. I would say it may run you around $100 max for a good pair unless he knows something I don't. There are knock-offs that may not work as well but if you stick to the Spanx brand you should be fine. There's also a brand named Flexees (Macy's) that are pretty good too. Looks like you need to go undergarment shopping and see what's the most comfortable for you. Bring them with you when you have your dress fitting and see which works best. Check out ShopStyle for Fashion and Designers - Shoes, Jewelry, Dresses & Clothes and type in Spanx and all the different styles and where to buy them will come up. HTH!

I'm reading this a little late but wanted to let you know that my heart goes out to you. When I read your post my heart literally sunk! You and your family have my deepest sympathy and I pray that you have found the strength to move forward with your life AND your wedding planning. I know it may seem insensitive to move forward so soon but if your sister is anything like most, she would want you to have the wedding you've always dreamed of and for you to be happy. I know it must be hard but I pray that it will get better.
