Perfect! Thank you!! I love your ideas. I want to do chair sashes as well and considered added color to the huppa/arch too since the resort wants to charge us an arm and leg for any decorations upgrades.
  3. Hi everyone, question on the buffet versus sit down dinner. Originally I was planning on about 20 guests but the number is climbing and now we think it might be closer to 30 or 35. Can anyone explain to me what the extra cost would be? The web site says $48 per person for dinner, $26 per person for the cocktail hour, and I have read on this site that it is $60 for each additional person. Also, is there a price difference between the buffet and the sit-down dinner? Finally, can anyone confirm that we can substitute the cocktail hour for an additional 10 guests? I read that somewhere but I don't know if it was for DRC. Less than 4 months to go and it is still taking over a month to get replies from Ana. Starting to feel very stressed...

So congrats to those two brides I took a bunch of pictures which I promise to post tomorrow morning! Right now the resort is at 60% occupancy and we thought it was perfect - there were a million chairs by the pool and on the beach so no real issues with that. Kids...they didn't really bother us that much, but again, it's 60% occupancy. Noise levels...the hallways are all tile and pretty open, voices and footsteps can carry and the walls are pretty thin. Oddly enough at about midnight the resort is super quiet (unless you're in one of the two bars open till midnight) but then at about 7:30am you hear doors opening and closing and kids running though the halls. It didn't bother me I just dragged my fiance to breakfast at 8 and we hit the beach chairs by 9 but I think he was a little annoyed. Food...awesome - really really good food all around. I wish we could have eaten two dinners a night because we didn't get to try a lot of the restaurants. The service is fantastic - I will say that although everyone says tipping isn't neccessary - we tipped at dinner and if we stayed at a particular bar for a long period of time. If your fiance's like cigars - go visit Victor in the cigar shop - tell him Casey and Ron sent you - we had a loooong talk with him this afternoon when we were waiting for our transportation back to the hotel. He's fantastic and all the cigars in there are cuban - he will have a box made specifically for you and your wedding party if you give him a few days notice. We met with Yazmin - you can tell her and Ana know what they're doing. We saw the backup locations in case of bad weather - and they're really pretty. We looked at the locations we're using for the wedding day and the welcome party. The rest of the details she said really get done when we get there for the wedding. Alright ladies - I will post the pictures tomorrow and if I think of anything else I'll post again! Oh, this makes me feel so much better. Thanks for the review! I emailed you on FB.

Thanks! I would like to know this as well. Dreams charges a fee for color napkins, table runners, etc. correct? If that is the case, I will probably just buy some online and would like to know what lengths I'll need. Thanks!

I want something really unique like this but maybe more obviously BLUE instead of lots of blue/green stuff.

They moved the ceremony to terrace outside of Desires, Cocktail inside Desires, and reception in Ballroom. I was very happy with the way everything turned out. I will try to post complete review soon. Let me know if you have any questions though. Use this link or paste into address.... Jarrett & Khara The pics are awesome! Congrats Mrs! I was a little nervous about the photos because I originally really wanted Juan but those look just as great as his work. Looking forward to your full review~
  14. My resort (DRC) offers chair sashes in different colors, but they are $5 per chair. I found them online for less than $1 each and a couple of friends offered to help out so I'm taking advantage.

Very much what I was looking for. I am going to look around at the rest of the shoes on that site. Thanks! Worried already about heels getting stuck in between the wood slats. Yikes!
  16. Hi ladies! Can you all help me find some cute blue heels? I am looking for something unique, maybe sparkly, but definitely a shoe that stands out. Would like something with a low heel. Preferably in the aqua, turquoise, or tiffany blue families. Please post pics if you have them!
  17. Love these! I just checked out that store and found some seashell toppers that will work great for our AHR. Thanks!
  18. Here are some photos of the ideas I like - cannot decide if I am going to keep it simple with just a square knot (I don't like bows) or tie in a small corsage of flowers. I want mine in aqua or turquoise satin.
  19. What a great idea! I would like to put my wish out there too...I need some blue sashes for my wedding in September. If anyone has some they want to get rid of, let me know!
  20. Hi ladies! Just wanted to let you all know that I got three different emails from Ana yesterday and she answered all of my questions. I was really starting to stress because we are only coming out the day before and we want to upgrade our package. She was very reassuring and is doing her best to make everything work. I waited a month and a half to get a reply, so just be patient everyone - she will get back to you eventually. Someone also mentioned calling her, my fiance has done this a few times and is almost always able to get a hold of her. He called our cell phone provider and had something added to our plan to be able to call Mexico for less. I know it's very frustrating when you're trying to plan a wedding and you can't get an answer. I believe that the closer it gets to your wedding date, the quicker she will get back to you. With so many emails, I guess they have to prioritize by date?
  21. Thank you Patourn! I am a little nervous because we're getting married on the beach near Cancun and the dress is VERY heavy. Hopefully I don't sweat buckets...but even then it will be worth it.

  23. I'll be a Maggie bride! I bought the Grace Lynette...it was the total opposite of what I was looking for originally and it was the third dress ever that I tried on. I knew it was "The Dress" the second it was laced up. I paid about $900 for it at a bridal shop in Denver. The only stores I found online that carried that style did not offer a better price than that.

Here is what I found on the web site; Dreams Riviera Cancun highly recommends that all additional decorations and/or favors be brought with the couple on the plane. If it is necessary to ship boxes prior to the couples arrival, we suggest using either FEDEX or UPS and shipping everything a month and a half in advance to ensure all boxes clear customs. • Please be advised that food, animals, insects or natural flowers are not permitted to enter Mexico. • Label all boxes with your name and clearly specify the date you will be arriving. Now I'm nervous!
