  1. Man if I only had an extra $400!!! If I do get it, and the shoes are still available, I will PM you. My wedding is the week after yours but I just want the shoes. They will be too high for my dress too but I got plenty of other dresses that they would be perfect for!!
  2. OMG ladies!!! Going through the same drama this week. Found out that the hotel was offering 50% off the rooms til 3/7 so called the TA to get the rate for the group. Got the rate!! YAY!! But now I got people saying that they are coming yet have not sent back their RSVP and haven't verbally RSVP'd I'm like WTF I told my mom by 3/22 if you have not sent in an RSVP, you are not coming and that's got to be it. I really cannot have crashers at a DW, I mean how do you even do that? On top of that FI Best friend may not be able to make it!! He's going to be crushed if this is the case. I am crossing my fingers hoping that it won't be the case.
  3. No I like to watch but don't want my life to be on blast like that!! Where is your bachelorette party?
  4. Bachelorette party being held at the Borgota in Atlantic City. It's for me but am paying for the bridesmaids stay and dinner at PF Cheng's! Can't wait and will definitely post pictures!
  5. Have a traditional registry at 4 stores!! Maybe a little over board but I like to give options!! What is something your FI does that you never knew about til you moved in together?
  6. Man I love this board!! I have been feeling the same way! The same people over and over again asking the same questions: "what's the name of the resort?" "The cost is what?" "When are the payments due??" Arrgggghhh!! Enough with the questions already! And then comes the, wow that place is really expensive! Ya think? Yeah I know I picked it and you had more than 2 years to save money!! Now if you couldn't get your s*** together in all that time...well guess what, just don't come! I mean I got a whole host of folks staying in time shares...wtf I mean at first I was like ok that's fine but then realized that they would not be able to hang out with us at the resort. So I found out that there is a huge sale going on for the resort and hoping some of these el cheapos will get in on that deal. But then, I gotta keep hearing about the cost of the flight! Man can a sista get a break?! Even FI joined in with the others and he had to get it too!! Keep moving forward with your plans, you decided to have a DW for a reason. If people can't support you, then to hell with them. Something I have learned in this process is that you really learn who has your back and who doesn't. Good luck girl. Let us know how it goes.
  7. Well I can't exactly recommend my TA. She isn't horrible but I wouldn't say I have had the best experience. Not sure where or when your getting married but I would have preferred to do everything on my own to be honest. I haven't seen the benefit to using a TA. We have traveled a lot in the past and we have NEVER used a TA but FMIL and my mom suggested using a TA so that people could use a payment plan etc... but to me it has been a headache. So where are you planning to get married? When? Are your guests tech savvy and feel comfortable booking their own travel? We didn't get any incentives or extras so I am not a big cheerleader for the use of a TA but I am sure the girls on this site can add to this thread. You'll have a ton of leads in no time!
  8. I should keep up with this thread. I have been so lazy for the past two weeks! Wedding is in a mere 3 months and I still want to lose at least 25 lbs.
  9. Walmart. So obvious and yet I didn't think to check. I will check on my way back from the gym this evening. Thanks!
  10. Pictures look gorgeous! Will be there in May! Wanted to know what you and your girls did with your shoes on the sand? Did they keep them on or take them off?
  11. Thanks Jenise, This is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks!! The only crazy part is that its coming from the UK and shipping is steep! But if it's the only place I can find it,then so be it!! Thanks again!!!
  12. HI everyone, I am doing photo albums for my favor and I found some really nice ones and also found crystal stickers but they are alphabet letters which is good for the part that I need to put wording but I want to put the date. I CANNOT find any crystal number stickers to match! Please help if you have any ideas. I already tried Micheal's and AC Moore. Thanks!!
  13. Hi BeachBride83, I am getting married at 5pm. The sunsets later in DR where we will be but, as far as I know, the ceremony lasts only about 20 mins or so. So even if you do 5pm you figure you have a good hour to get your pictures in or you can opt for the 4pm start time. I'm not sure about you, but can't imagine that it would take the ENTIRE day to get ready, even for wedding. Just make sure you get to bed on time and wake up at a reasonable time to get an early start to the day. Not sure if you work out, but I always try to get a good sweat session in on the day of an event as it makes me more radiant for some reason. Let us know what you decide!
  14. I like number 1 but I think your not going to know til you try on. I had one vision of a dress, and then I put it on and was like, next! I ended up with a dress that I would have never imagined but I love it. Don't let your size deter you. The dresses they have in the store are one size usually 10 or something but they can order the size that you need. They know which designers make which sizes, but if your looking for off the rack try to visit a David's Bridal in a different town. I did that this weekend for my lil sis' dress. She found one that she absolutely loved and while I was there I noticed that they had other dresses (wedding gowns) that I had not seen in another store. Good luck!
  15. Urgghhh!!!! I am so upset that we spent so much on these!! I could have done them myself. Yeah she charged me $1425 and I still needed to put the boxes together, wrap them in the brown paper, make labels and mail!! I thought I was getting a discount because she wanted to charge $20 per invite but I got her to do it at $10 and then I called another lady in NJ and she wanted to charge $35 a piece!! So that was a lesson learned. I wished I had known about this site then! I probably would have tried to do it on my own and saved so much $$$. I feel like e-mailing her to tell her that she owes me about $1000. And then I was freaking out when I had to print the labels, because I wanted them to look great, I asked her how much would she charge me to print labels, she told me $350 I had to draw the line, I was like ah no! I'll do it myself! Anyway, that was my vent for the day! These look amazing. I was happy with mine but see how they could have been improved. Oh and yes, you should probably start your own business on the side!
  16. These are beautiful! Just curious... How much did you spend to make these? I only ask because we also did Message in a Bottle invites but did not do the luggage part of it. I loved it and so did everyone else but we paid someone to do them and it was a pretty penny, $1425 to be exact!
  17. It sounds like a good idea but I will caution you that some will look at it side ways! I had a friend who registered for bedroom furniture a few years ago and I couldn't understand for the life of me why someone would do that. Until another, much closer friend got married and she told me that she would get a % off of the items still left on her registry after her wedding date. It was like an ah-ha moment. But how would they be able to contribute cash to it? In the form of gift cards? If so, then why not just register for gift cards from the particular store you want to buy the furniture at? That way, the person knows that their gift is going to be used in one way or another.
  18. Benedryl Kidding! Lots and lots of activities that keep them quiet and in their seats. Snacks and drinks as well. Good luck. Dollar stores have good activity books or if you can afford to get some sort of personal dvd player and keep them busy watching movies.
  19. Congrats! This is great news. We are waiting to finish our loan. Hoping to close by 2/28!
  20. Thanks PrettyKity76. This is a great deal I will have to try and make it to a dollar tree, kohls or target between now and Saturday. Last Saturday I got the Beach Towels at Target for just $2.50 a piece thanks to this forum and for the flip flops I am only gonna need to get for the ladies as FI has told me that none of the guys coming are going to wear flip flops, I had to agree!
  21. I agree with everyone else. it depends on what he likes and what you can comfortably afford. My FI found one he really liked for about $800 he really likes it alot and so do I and we decided that we can always upgrade our rings in the next few years. But on the other hand, I know someone who spent over $5000 on her man's ring! So it really depends upon your pockets!
  22. Would it be possible to add travel/wedding insurance onto regular auto/home or renters insurance? Just thinking out loud. I think I will check with my carrier and get back to you girls.

The day planners were 2 for $1.00 at the dollar store - The surfer dude's are for the guys and the flamingos are for the girls. Everything actually came from the dollar store!! Love it Just waiting on our bags from cheaptotes.com. We bought the neutral ones and are going to transfer our monogram on them ourselves! Pictures_005.jpg (3.2 MB) Hi Cindy&London, I am thinking of purchasing the totes from cheaptotes as well. Can you let me know what you think of them?
