  1. Great review! Thanx for the posting. Did you communicate with grandegarden before your trip or not untill you got there? I always read about people emailing pictures of what they want. Also, what did you do after the reception? Cant wait for pictures!
  2. Purple and Green are my wedding colours! Purple is my favourite colour and had a hard time deciding for a more tropical feel so i chose green! Its going to be dark purple and a pistachio green.
  3. Virgo, would you mind sharing how much your total costs were with Tai Flora?
  4. By the way.... has anyone hired the steel drum band for their wedding ceremony/welcome party or cocktail party? Just looking for feedback!
  5. Congrats on your decision Eholt! April and May are usually very busy months for Nicole so sometimes she may take awhile to respond and other times she may respond right away. Just be patient. I sent her an email a few days ago and havent heard back either but its just a matter of time. I have booked for April 2011, so its defiantly not to early to book. Nicole said if you have your heart set on the date, you can book it right away. Good luck on your planning and welcome to the thread!

Cant wait to read your review and see the pictures!
  7. Hey Lisa, Just wondering how many months in advance did you get your guests to book their stay? I already have our wedding date reserved but do they set aside a number of rooms for your guests or still first come first serve? I didnt think about this when reserving my wedding date! Also, does your florist have a website? Im highly considering him as well because Flower Studio is going to be expensive for centrepieces!
  8. Thanx Lisa for the quick replies! Hope your not feelin too over welmed, lol. By the way, from the pictures your dress looking very pretty! Do you plan on posting more pics? Or perhaps a link to where you have posted some? Would love to see more! Esp more of the reception set up and the dancing outside. Thanx!
  9. Congrats Lisa on your wedding! Everything sounds like overall it turned out perfectly. Thanks for the very detailed review, I was looking forward to it for awhile now! haha. I just have a few quick questions for you: 1. In terms of choosing your locations for your welcoming party, rehearsal dinner and cocktail hour; did you choose these prior to your arrival? Im just concerned about choosing prior to arrival that I may change my mind once I see the different locations in person. 2. You mentioned you used your own DJ for the welcome party, how about for your wedding reception on the beach? Or did you use the resort DJ (any feedback about the resort DJ as we know theres mixed reviews about him). 3. Since it rained during the day - how was the sand at night for the beach party - wet or dry? And was the extra cost for the beach party the same pricing structure as it is to have for the cocktail hour or welcome party? Thanx! and Congrats again!
  10. Congrats Negril and Taylorbride! Glad everything went smoothly. I've been eagerly awaiting your reviews, cant wait!
  11. Hey Jenn, I see your from Vancouver and are having your wedding here as well! Nice to see another fellow Vancouver bride on here! I believe the only fee is the day pass for your photographer or any outside entertainment you are bringing in. But if its just for a cake or flowers - they would just be dropping it off and leaving so no fee for that. I guess we are all just patiently waiting to hear the reviews from the two brides that just got married here!

Although I have decided that I am most likely going to have my wedding at IRHS, it won't be until the beginning of July 2011. I just wanted to know because I am having a July wedding and want the ceremony and cocktail outside, is there an indoors for the reception that is air conditioned because I don't want my guest to suffer all day and night in the heat. Also how long does the cocktail and reception last for (timing wise)? Thanks :-) !! Congrats on making your decision! The closest indoor location for the ceremony would be the balcony/terrace area. There is some reviews on this form and pictures of a few people that have done that and it looks very nice! If you have your reception at one of the restaurants, your party can stay there till around 1030pm - then after you can either go to the disco or i've heard some people even go outside since the pool is closed it can be very intimate and private without other resort guests around. If you email the wedding coordinator, Nicole, she can email you all the forms that have the exact details on them! Happy Planning!
  13. All I can say is WOW! I absolutely LOVE them. I think they are the best boarding pass invites I have seen so far. If you could find out what program your friend used I would greatly appreciate. Your guests will love them!
  14. Hello, Could I please have the price list for Michael emailed to me as well? Thank you! [email protected]
  15. Hi Everyone, Im just curious to know what photographer everyone is using or has been using for their weddings at IRHS? Thanx

Where are you having your reception?
  17. I just emailed all my documents to Nicole to book our date for April 23, 2011! Fingers crossed its not already booked! She has been really great about responding to my emails. I haven't had to wait longer than a day. Maybe its just best to keep them brief and to the point for a quicker response time? Q: Does anyone know if they have a projector if you wanted to show your guests a slide show during the dinner/reception time?
  18. Hey Everyone, I came across a pretty neat site that you can create your own save the dates, wedding invitations, thank you notes, RSVP cards, and wedding programs. They are pretty simple templates and you can upload your own photos and print for free! Heres the link: Free Print Projects with HP Creative Studio Just thought I would share!
  19. It does start to get more rainy/overcast in May in Jamaica. However, most rainfalls only last a couple hours before the sun comes out!
  20. Thanks for posting this! Ive been looking everywhere for someone that does Real Touch Flowers in Canada!!!
  21. Anyone know a canadian website for real touch flowers?! Im having a hard time finding one.... thank you!
  22. Does anyone know the easiest way to book your wedding at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites .... I think we may have made our decision!!!
  23. We were deciding between those two as well but just based on feedback and info from our friends we chose Jamaica! And we are all about good eats, so that made the decision even easier!!! Good luck!
