  1. They were only $250 for 2 fire dancers and the performance is for 20 mins. Im not sure about time - my wedding co-rrdinator just said she'll book them for the reception!
  2. How soon in advance are you getting your guests to book the trip? My wedding is in April and I plan on sending my invites out in October so ill go to a travel agent in Septemeber to get a group rate. Is this too early or too late? I checked the iberostar website and they arnt showing any avaliablity for April -does this mean its too early?? or too late? Im concerned so im going to email Nicole!
  3. Nicole told me the price list for 2011 will be avaliable in Fall 2010 - around October/November. So I imagine prices will change since they always do for everything! So make sure you get the new updated price list from her. Â Also about upgrades - that is correct - you only get them based upon avaliabitly. I read for one bride on this forum awhile ago, there was limited space for her guests as the suites over booked - so they upgraded their group to the Grand! What a treat. But yes - dont rely on upgrades otherwise its another thing to stress over!
  4. We are doing ours @ aunt rubys because we arnt travelling all that way to not have a full out beach wedding! Just our opinon anyways! We only get till 10 oclock at aunt rubys- so most people move indoors for the dancing at the club or I even heard if you do the dancing around the lazy river its alot cooler! We were thinking about doing the dinner indoors but I personally wasnt a fan of any of the decor for the indoor resturants and I havent seen any pictures of anyones that has not been at aunt rubys!
  5. Yeah I think a previous bride had it for 20 mins as well. Im glad your interested in this also! It seems like a fun surprise - we arnt going to tell any of our guests about it! We are having our reception at Aunt Rubys so itll be nice for them to just show up on the beach and start doing their act.
  6. No she didnt mention - but I imagine its not that long - Ive seen on other forums its usually between 20-40 mins. But how long could you REALLY watch them for? That length seems about right.
  7. Thanx for the tips ladies - I contacted my WC and she was able to get two fire dancers for us! She recommended them as they have performed at the resort many times before.
  8. Nicole actually just got back to me and said she has a contact for fire dancers - two would cost $250USD. Thats not bad considering I was quoted this price only for one dancer!
  9. Hey Guys, Has anyone decided to go with the resort photographer? If so, let me know! Also, anyone doing any fun entertainment for their wedding? Fire dancers, outside band etc? We are hoping to get fire dancers for the reception as an added surprise for the guests. We also want to do a boat cruise of some kind during one of the days we are all there. Imuze - hope you are feelin better, cant wait for your review and pics!
  10. I love all your stuff! Great job on everything. I really love the invitations to!
  11. Just a heads up for those who are considering digipix for your video, Negril just posted something under her wedding review that they had used them for the video but thought it was kinda of cheesy the way the pictures were set to slow motion with love songs, but they were glad they did it! Also, the info Nicole sent me said that anyone coming off site such as entertainment or photographers you need to purchase them a wedding day pass which is $100 for the whole day. However, maybe you can get it cheaper if they are only going to be there for a few hours? Im not sure. Hope this helps!

I'm not too worried about me since the dress codes mostly don't apply for women. Thanks! Hey Jenn, The only requirement is "long pants mandatory for men" at the 4 a la carte restaurants. It says this specifically in the wedding details that Nicole, the wedding co. on site, has sent me. As long as you have nice sandals (not just beach flip flops) im sure thats fine to wear in the restaurant! Hope that answers your question.
  13. Ive been looking for this information for so long! I even posted another thread under jamaican vendors but got no response, so thank you!!!

If I'm going to spend that much, I may as well bring a photog with me. I think digipix does a pretty good job from what I've seen. Maybe we'll go with them...I just want to make sure they take some pictures of us getting ready, during the ceremony, couple pics, family pics, and reception...bouquet toss, etc. Hmmm...I'm gonna keep evaluating this one...I wish they'd get back to me...I'd love to see how long they spend with you, and for what price, and how many pictures you get. I just have the basic package Nicole gave me. The largest package is only 70 pictures + CD for $875...does that include more than 70 pictures on the CD? I donno. Hey Julie! I was in the same position as you (and still kind of am!). I was debating between digipix and sungolds associate photograher (which I was quoted $1900 for 5 hours). At first, I wast too happy about digipix photos as they looked kind of pixelated to me, and some of the past reviews about them werent very good and some were good! But now after looking at the recent work that wendy posted from digipix, im once again debating. The price for them seems very reasonable but they have never responded to my emails in a timely manner (took me 2 weeks before I heard a first response) where as sungold response within a couple of hours! So im in the same position as you! Our wedding dates are fairly close as well. So let me know what you decide to you as im still on the fence !
  15. Yea, im having a hard time deciding what to do also! I know for sure our ceremony will be on the beach and our reception dinner will be at aunt rubys steak house. But for the dancing afterwards - i know you can change locations such as by the pool / lazy river or beach etc but I wonder how hot it is or if its really windy at night. As for doing a cocktail hour party or rehearsal dinner, not sure one where to have that yet!
  16. Just wondering if anyone has booked any outside entertainment, like fire dancers? If so, any recommendations? We are highly interested at having one at our wedding reception for a little while but I cannot find any info. I saw one person on this form had a fire dancer but just looking for any comparables. Suggestions appreciated! Thank You!
  17. Just wondering if anyone has booked any outside entertainment, like a band or fire dancers? If so, any recommendations? We are interested in a band (probably the one Negril had at her wedding!) and were looking for a fire dancer!. Suggestions appreciated! Also, do we have to purchase a pass for them as well?
  18. Thanx mssmith but the link didnt work for me - I think you need to add it as an attachment?
  19. Wow! You did an amazing job!!! All your hard work is definatly going to pay off and your guests will be thrilled. Thanx for taking the time to write out such a detailed review for all of us still in the planning process!
  20. Thanx for posting more pictures Negril! Thats awesome that you kept in touch with us still. Everything looks great! And im defiantly stealing you idea with the paper laterns!!! lol
  21. I couldnt agree more with everyone else, you have really done an amazing job! Definatly shows how such hard work eventually pays off!! Congrats to you, youll have an amazing time and so will your guests!!!
  22. Those luggage tags are HILARIOUS! defiantly gonna have to get a pair of those, love it!
