Hi, Just wondering if anyone has been in touch with Tai Flora? I have sent them many emails over the course of the past 2 months but no responses. I only received one in october saying they would be away on vacation until the beginning of november. I emailed them later on but still no response. Thanx,

Im in the same boat! I had my MOH and 2 bridesmaids and one of my bridesmaids just told me last week that she cant afford to go anymore (because she just got married in the summer) when she confirmed a year ago that she would be in our wedding party. So now we are uneven (2 girls and 3 guys) so my fiance thinks we should just drop the 3rd groomsmen but then i feel horrible about that! I could ask someone else but I feel like its so last minute and I dont want them to feel like a replacement. Plus, I dont really have someone super close that I would really want as my bridesmaid. It would either be my brothers girlfriend OR another friend of mine (one of the groomsmens wife). So I dont know what to do and need to make a decision quick! Urgh.

Thanx for your wonderful review Jenn! Cant wait to see pics - especially of the flowers! Just have one question for you. Did you feel pressed for time at all? (Since the dinner was 2 hrs and then moving to the disco for 2 hrs) - or did this feel like enough time for everything. I want to do a similar idea but concerned dinner will run late which will get pressed into the dancing time (and not leaving enough time for dancing). Any feedback would be great, thanx!!

Hey everyone, By the looks of previous "venting" threads, this doesnt seem to be an unusal topic. One of my best friends who was my third bridesmaid just bailed on us. Her excuse was because her husband couldnt make it and she didnt want to go without him. However, I think it has to do with finances and shes just using that as another excuse. The sad part is I have been engaged for over a year and she said "yes" to being a bridesmaid and was confirmed for a whole YEAR and now decides to back out. I dont even know what to say to her right now, its almost like it has hurt our friendship. Also, I do not even know who I could ask to be our third bridesmaid now. I feel like its so late minute and I dont want them to feel like a "replacement". Also, just wanted to make another added touch that everyone else always yes "yes, of course we'll be there" but then when it comes time to pay your deposit, they back out. At this point I have a two sided opinon a) I accept the fact if they cant afford to go to the wedding but I almost feel like boycotting them for telling us this whole time they'll be there and then they back out last minute! I guess it takes a destination wedding to see who your "real" friends are! GEESH. Let me know if anyone else is having this problem and what your doing!

Iberostar Rose Hall Suites - So Many Questions!!

I am using Marcia Roberts as her pricing is $1200 for all day coverage of the wedding day. You can google her as well. Her pricing is alot more affordable compared to some of the others! -
Dont worry Mrsdeloatch! Everything will work out just fine. I was in the same position as you when I started planning - in fact, I didnt even know where to start untill I found this website!!! I didnt know what a "save the date" was, an OOT bag, and what decorations we need/can bring to make it our "own" - until I found this website! lol. But again, do not worry - this is supposed to be the happinest time in your life! Nicole constantly reminds me in ALL her emails "do not worry, we will finalize these details about 1-2 months prior to the wedding". I even called her today to book the steel pans band for our ceremony and she simply said "no problem, we will do this for you one month prior to the wedding". In my mind im thinking lets just do it NOW, haha. But it doesnt work like that. Remind - they operate on Island time. As long as you stay organized for what you want and you present this to Nicole about two months prior to your wedding date- you are going to be JUST fine!!! Plus, we are all here to help!

Just a heads up everyone, Nicole emailed me that they will no longer be working with Flower Studio as of 2011. Their 2011 packages will now be working with Tai Flora (for all you 2011 brides!). Nicole said to email Tai Flora and cc her in on the emails so she can keep posted. Also, I didnt know this but if you want to have a DJ for your reception, you need to rent the resturant that you are using. If you dont pay the extra to reserve the resturant - no DJ. I guess that makes sense but now some added costs to consider!

Hey everyone, Our travel plans are all finalized! Now just need people to book their trip I also just checked and expeida.ca and .com are having a sale on flight+hotel pkgs to iberostar rose hall suites that are just as good as my group booking discount! Also, my T.A's co-worker just got back from the resort and said it was amazing!!! She met with Nicole and she said wonderful things about her. She also said that their buffet has lobster yum yum!

I also wanted to make a small comment about flights - we had a huge issue because sunquest and westjet do not not have enough seats avaliable during our dates - that is why we are flying through air canada. I believe sunquest only has 6 seats open and westjet was similar. So if you are flying in April I would book soon as I know its a very busy season for weddings!

Hi Everyone, Â I have been away from the thread for a little while but also wanted to comment on prices + booking! We have been in a scramble with travel agents since Sept 1st and finally received our final price. Â We are flying out of Vancouver (YVR) - connection to Toronto - then Montego Bay. We are also flying through Air Canada. We are staying the Suites and were orginally quoted astronomical prices through Air Canada Vacations and Flight Center. But finally now, Sears Travel has been a huge reflief. We are paying $2100 for 7 days. Our first deposit of $200 is due Oct 11th and final payment due Oct 31st in order to receive this early booking promo. Otherwise we have to pay an extra $400 higher without the early booking discount. Â I thought this price was really high because I contacted Air Canada vacations in April 2010 and were quoted $1700 for the suites leaving from Vancouver but now it seems prices have gone up. My travel agent doesnt think prices will go any less but said if they do they will provide an adjustment. Fingers crossed many of our guests will still be able to come now with the high prices. Ekkk! Â However, if anyone else is going in April - staying at the suites - leaving from Vancouver AND is getting a cheaper deal! Please let me know! haha. Â Take Care.

Hi Jessica,  I know Grande Garden does favors such as Jamaican Rum - I plan on doing the same for my favors! I emailed them about 6 months ago and they quoted me $2.50USD per bottle (small size). However, prices may have gone up since then. Try emailing whoever you have decided for your flowers arrangments as a lot of them do gifts and favors also. I remember reading someone made note of a market that sells them for cheap in the area - maybe just ask the front desk once you arrive? Im sure they'll know! Â
