  1. Here is Roxy and John's wedding at Barcelo Maya Palace! We LOVE shooting there! We snuck into the French Restaurant during the day when they were closed and got some amazing shots. There are also some beautiful night places to shoot too. I will be posting more individual shots later that didn't go into the album (there were SO many!) If you click on the first image, it will pop up bigger, then you can scroll through them all. Enjoy! Michelle
  2. Thank you Allison!! You guys are the best. Your wedding was SO much fun. I will have to post some of the catamaran pics here too. That was an awesome trip!
  3. Courtney, All the resorts are beautiful (seriously!), but Barcelo Maya Palace is one of our FAVORITE resorts. It is a huge property and there are just so many places to shoot, both day and gorgeous evening shots. The colors are warm and rich and it has the most photogenic Grecian gazebo. It has it's own private beach which is awesome too. I haven't posted photos from that one yet but I will get some on our vendor marketplace thread in just a little while. The Barcelo couple is actually from Greensboro, NC. One of our other favorites is the Royal in Playa. Not only is the property beautiful, but it is easy to walk into Playa and get some cool shots downtown. We do have some photos from a wedding there on our thread if you want to check it out: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...graphie-59816/ I will let you know when I get those others posted too. Michelle

  9. Courtney!! This is the best place to do research for sure. The Riviera Maya is AMAZING and the weather in November is ideal too. Not too hot, and past hurricane season! Have a great time planning! Michelle

You can check out Weather Underground for past data on your date and dates around yours. If you go to Welcome to Weather Underground : Weather Underground and put in Playa del Carmen Mexico the current conditions come up. Then if you look for the link in the lower middle of the left side, you will see a link that says "Weather history for this location" or something like that. Then you can scroll around for different dates. Hope that helps! Michelle

Anyone recently get married on the beach? Did you feel like there were a lot of people around? Did you feel like it took away from the ceremony? This is the main issue that is keeping me on the fence with choosing the royal. Any feedback would be great! The beach isn't private at all and is actually pretty short. It does depend some on the time of day, and what else is going on. For instance, when we were there in January there was a national convention of DJ's just down the beach, and there were drunk dj's everywhere! Luckily only the reception was on the beach but they tried to crash that. Also, keep in mind that the cruise ship transports pick up and drop off at the dock, so there can be some comings and goings from that. One other thing to keep in mind, is that you can't guarantee everyone will have their tops on on the beach. I don't know if you have looked at Barcelo Maya Palace, but they for one have a private beach where you don't get any comings and goings from people who aren't actually at the hotel. You might want to at least check them out if you aren't 100% sold on the Royal. Michelle

  17. am1595, I am so sorry you had such a terrible experience!! If you wanted to post some of your photos, some of us could probably give you a professional opinion at least on what is possible in the way of fixing the problems you have with your photos. Hair blowing can be fixable and things like that as can some other technical issues. Michelle

Am I crazy to try and plan this whole thing in 9 months, top to bottom?!? The last thing I want is stress over something that I have been waiting so long for.... Gahh! Do things fill up as fast as I think it might?? He said it best last night, doesn't matter where we go, we will have a great time anyplace. He is right, but I want to make sure it is somewhere we want to be! help! No, you aren't crazy to plan in 9 months, but you should definitely start to plan now to get your top choices. Many guys don't enjoy the research part but for girls it is fun! Plus, you will feel a lot better once you have a location set and can really start putting the details together. One of the nice things about doing a DW is that you don't have to stick to a traditional Saturday, as everyone is going to be there for you whichever day of the week you choose. That does help as Saturdays are usually the first to book up. If you do want a Saturday though, the sooner you choose the better! Michelle
  21. Thank you SOOOO much! You are so sweet! I just responded to your message too BTW.
  22. Welcome Ann! The Riviera Maya really is a great place to get married and is a super easy destination to get to. Cancun airport is fairly small and undaunting. Customs is pretty easy and you just pop out and find your transport. It is really is easy to travel to any of the resorts up and down the coast. All of them are basically off the same highway. The other great thing about the Riviera is that for the most part, the all inclusives are less expensive than other areas. Michelle
  23. Welcome!! So as a former Minnesotian (is that a word?) myself, I can't blame you for wanting a February wedding in the Riviera Maya! Out of the snow and into the sand... Michelle
