Megan, I would be lost if my Dad could not walk me down and with his health I pray everything will work out in July. I think is pretty cool and awesome your grandfather is able to walk you down the aisle. I have even seen where the Mom & Dad walked the daughter. So you could have Mom and Grand Dad. Either way you seem like you will be surrounded by love on your wedding day and that is what is MOST IMPORTANT!!!

Hello ablj209! I considered RIU but I can't remember why I didn't choose this resort. I can look at my notes and give you feedback. The good thing is that you have time to search for the perfect location. Are you working with a DWS / TA. They can provide advice for a resort based on their hands on experience. They are unbiased and help you select your resort based on your needs.

Thanks Giselle, I kinda figured that and was trying to be patient. I'm not sure if I'm having a bad planning day or what and I just can't stop crying! I found out that after sending out close to 200 invitations that my TA changed her number and didn't tell me until I asked her. That's pretty easy to recover because I am going to find another TA and send a postcard to all the guest originally invited. Thanks for letting me cry on your shoulders.

I am a bit frustrated in that I am not getting good phone customer service with the resort. I am planning my wedding at Occidental in Punta Cana..maybe this is why I can't find anyone else on this forum using this location. The resort was referred to me by my TA with destinationweddings.com. I understand they are extremely busy, but the on-site coordinator told me she does not have time to talk to me on the phone to answer my questions. She prefers sending emails. Majority of my communication has been via email...however every now and then I would like personal contact. Also because she did not directly answer some of my questions via email. Am I being impatient or unreasonable? Is this typical with planning DW, do most resorts prefer email versus phone? My wedding is July 30 I sent close to 200 invitations and am in tears now!!! I am also at the point I want to cancel everything and go with another resort!!! If there is anyone out there that can help me transition my guest and get better service I sincerely appreciate any help at this moment.

looks great!! I wish I thought of this idea before I sent my invitations. I think I may use this to send when guest book their trips. I was thinking of using the RSVP boarding pass as to confirm their attendance with excursions and other group activities.

I picked DR because I always wanted to visit. I narrowed my resort choices to those with the best prices for my guest. And the final decision was...... what was offered (wedding amenities, all inclusive, free wedding, ect.)

This is a really sensitive subject. I know we would not be able to pay for anyone or even help them pay for their trip. My heart really goes out to you because as each day goes by I experience drama and issues with planning our wedding each day. I am giving this advice to myself...but don't let anyone guilt you into extending yourself beyond your means.
