  1. Welcome from one Budget Bride to another! Keep track of your budget and no matter how exciting the idea sounds. Think about...think about it again then act! :-) A favor that I found simple and easy to travel are cards that you attach a lottery ticket to $1 $5 whatever you budget allows. place it in a beautiful decorated envelope. It's easy for guest to travel back home with and be a nice fortune. I believe the wording on the card is like "i hope this brings you luck in love" I'll post pics when i finish. Giving out Passport covers and luggage tags & thanks for booking card as soon as they book. Of course I am going to deliver as many as I can some I will have to mail. OOT bags...not sure yet. decorations....they will be simple and I am sure I can do 90% of them myself! :-0 Everything else is on travel, accommodations and what ever essentials for the ceremony and reception. I will have more details on my blog and as soon as I get time I will post pictures.
  2. cool you must post the video clip of your debut! ;-) When is the next Bridal University...I'll check their site.
  3. Wow PynkLemonade! I think we are talking about the same bridal shop. They are wonderful! I didn't feel like I was in a meat market like at David's Bridal. No offense to others but that's just MHO. If I ever used DB I would have to use online only. Also glad to meet a local Punta Cana bride! :-)
  4. They look great! It's hard to pick one, but if I had to choose I would say #2.
  5. I love the door hangers! I am putting them on my list. Also, I love the way you continued your theme throughout.
  6. First...they are adorable! I agree with previous post to try for a local company. I had a friend plan a group trip she purchased towels from Marshalls and took to a local shop. I can't remember the price but it was VERY reasonable.
  7. Oh Melissa, I can relate. But I decided not to worry about any more. Since we decided to have a destination wedding, I have been so stressed with the drama. "Why are you having a destination wedding?" "No one will be able to attend." This is not fair to us." "This is way too expensive." And the comments go on! So I decided to plan the wedding (order favors) based on the people that confirmed verbally. Which is about 30 people plus my brothers & their families. These people took the time to call/write to share my joy. I feel that if any of those people can not make the wedding, it would be sincerely a financial or emergency issue. Therefore my plans are to share the favors with them present or absence!
  8. There are so many great ideas from other brides on BDW that I'm loosing track! So I decided to write this blog just to keep up with all my favor ideas - plus links and resources. I love the idea of door hangers: Door hangers - also from 123Print - $14.95 for 50. Credit goes to Chelymo for the wording. Pictures from her post Flash Drives: I plan to give each guest a flash drive to save photos to share with us when they return. I will also add a couple of our favorite songs. I have not figured the wording to add...but I will. :-)

  13. I will be in DR and I'm sure they can handle the styling my hair. However, I don't want to get my hair done everyday and I want to enjoy the water activities. So I'm looking towards a weave now. But thanks ladies for all the ideas and suggestions. I guess I have a little time to think it over. Keep posting the ideas maybe something will come to mind. :-)
  14. If you are looking for a DIY project. Bath Salts are REALLY easy to make. You can place them in a nice jar/bag and attach your wedding monogram or sticker. Oriental Trading has instructions for candy buffet buckets. Candy Buffet Buckets Or if you are not a DIY bride. Most favors you purchase for the wedding would be just as appropriate for the shower.
  15. I can't say I was creative with the idea or the wording. But thanks to Vista Print for the design and a Google search for the wording....walaaa! My Thank you for booking cards! http://i790.photobucket.com/albums/y...king_front.jpg http://i790.photobucket.com/albums/y...ing_inside.jpg I plan to mail a passport cover and luggage tags to our guest traveling. I am also going to make note cards, reminding guest to renew or order their passports. Luggage Tags: $2.00 from Walmart I wanted to do the pre-travel brochure, but I think I will do that two months before the wedding. That will give me time to decided on excursion options and research more about the area.
  16. It should be based on the amount of weight you are trying to loose. I use the site Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople to help track my calories. It's FREE! Plus they have recipes and etc.
