  1. Hi donutdjn...I unfortunately could not tell you anything about both the photographer and the florist as I am going into this wedding pretty blind...I haven't seen any examples of anything except what I have seen on the Grande Garden website. I have decided to just leave it in their hands and go with all the standards of the wedding package I chose. No extras added except for extra floral arrangements for the ceremony site. I'm just hoping and praying that everything comes out great. I will definitely, post back in 3 weeks once I return from my wedding and honeymoon and let you know how it turned out!! But, if you are looking for more information on both the photographer and the florist, Asheeki may be able to shed more light. She had posted on this thread earlier, and after reading her comment, I felt more at ease with everything. Good Luck!
  2. I only have 11 days til I leave for Jamaica and I too have been dealing with some mishaps but you know what....whats a wedding without some mishaps!! I'm just thinking of the light at the end of the tunnel and that is in 11 days I will be in beautiful Jamaica basking in the sun with my close friends and family!!! And in 15 days I will be marrying the love of my life!!!!!!
  3. Thanks everyone for your posts! I think I'm going to place the e-ring on my right hand and have him do both wedding bands together during the ceremony. Then I'll go ahead and put the e-ring in the middle once the ceremony is over. I dont think we'll be doing pictures before, so I should be good. I cant wait!!! So excited!
  4. Hi fellow brides...I have chosen to get two wedding bands to compliment my engagement ring. One for each side. Is there anyone else who is doing the same? And if you are or have, how do you incorporate both bands into the wedding ceremony? Do you have the groom place both bands on your finger? Or do you have him just do one? And what do you do with the engagement ring at this time? Place it on your right hand during ceremony and later place it in between the two bands or just incorporate all three rings into the ceremony? I know these are probably some silly questions, but I only have 2 weeks til my big day and these are the silly things I'm starting to think of. Thanks!
  5. Hi GoingBridal...at first they were very slow in responding, I had sent in a Proposal online and they never responded, so I called the Resort and messages were taken, it did take a while for someone to finally contact me about setting up the date and time of the wedding. Also, the first WC I had assigned to me was very into the Jamaican timing (very laid back)...she was very slow at responding to any of my questions or concerns. But, fortunately for me she left the company and I was reassigned to Yolandi, whom is great. She has responded back to me in a timely manner and has called me on several occassions asking questions. So, I can say overall it has been a good experience, not great but good. I'm just hoping the wedding turns out great, but I'll know in about 3 weeks and I will definitely report! Good luck!!
  6. OMG...those are sooo cute! I too did not want to do the traditional pillow, so I purchased little pouches, one symbolizes a brides dress and the other a tuxedo. The rings are placed in them and held by the ring bearer down the aisle, but I'm actually reconsidering now and may actually do something like yours! Love it!
  7. Thanks all of you for your advice. The programs all sound and look great! But, after reading all of the advice you all provided, I think I'm leaning more towards not doing them. I'm already stressed out with the things that I still need to do, that I don't think I want to add something else to my plate. After all, I've already created a Welcome Letter that I will be putting into the Welcome Bags for all the guests and I also purchased Paddle fans with our names and date on them, that I will placing on the chairs at the Ceremony site. So again thanks and I'm soo glad I found this website...its the best!
  8. I am soo confused!! My wedding is in 3 1/2 weeks and I'm not sure if I want to create Programs or not. Are they really needed? I know the resort provides me with an itinerary for that day, isnt this enough? I'm afraid I will be spending all this time and money on creating them and it will be for nothing. Especially, with being a destination wedding, the guests will more than likely end up throwing them away or losing them. So, is it really worth it? Please help!
  9. We will be staying in separate rooms, but thats not my doing. I was actually ok with staying in the same room, my only concern was that he did not see me all made up in my wedding dress until I walk down the aisle. But, my fiance actually wanted to keep tradition so, more than likely my MOH will be staying with me in our suite and the FI will be staying with MOH's husband in her room. And hopefully, we wont run into each other before the wedding!!!
  10. Thanks Sax Lady! Now that I think of it, I believe the WC was just talking about the actual itinary, so I will have to create a Program...ughh...one more thing to do. As for the Welcome party, I think having some of the bridal party save some tables at the buffet would probably work out best for us. So, I may just do that! Again, thanks for the advise.
  11. Hi...its me again...are there any brides out there that have been married at the Hilton Rose Hall? If so, can you please help me with the questions I have on my previous post. Thanks!
  12. Yes, I agree with Pandabride6 regarding the complimentary rooms. It definitely sounds like you would receive all 6 days/5 nights free in a Carribean suite. I would definitely fight that, they shouldnt word it that way if thats not what they mean. I myself reached the 10 rooms and did receive the 3 days/2 nights free as it stated. Now, as part of my actual wedding package, it states we will receive a suite upgrade if one is available. So, I'm hoping one is...not sure if I should inquire about that now...maybe I should. As for the deposit, I had to put a $1000 deposit to have the wedding there and that was used towards my wedding package. Hopefully, everything works out for you!!
  13. Hi...I'm getting married in 4 weeks at the Hilton RoseHall and have a question for past brides. Did you receive any type of program or itinerary for the ceremony? When I spoke to Yolandi last, I asked about it and she mentioned that there will be an itinerary given to me, but I wasn't sure if the same itinerary would be given to my guests also or should I be creating one for them? Also, did any of you have a welcome party..I kind of wanted to get all guests together sometime before the wedding day, but really do not want to spend too much money doing it. So, I was thinking of putting a little note into their welcome bags, letting them know to meet us by the pool at a certain time. Would this be corny? Any advise would be great!! Thanks!
  14. I too have been stressing about tan lines...the only good thing I have going for me is that my dress is actually a halter, so I dont have too worry too much about having to get a strapless bathing suit. The only worry I have is that the back on the dress is very low..so I'm more concerned about the tan line on my back. Because I am a D cup and the stretch marks on my belly make me to self concious to wear a two piece, I will not be able to unsnap the back when laying on the belly. So with just 4 weeks to go until my big day, I have decided to start tanning to get a base. Hopefully, it will work and the tan lines that I may get during my stay in Jamaica before the wedding wont be soo noticeable. Well, good luck and I hope the pics turn out great, which I'm sure they will!!

  16. Great pictures!!! That dress must be the hit of the year...since I too have purchased the same dress for my wedding in 4 weeks!! Can't wait to also take some beautiful pictures!!
  17. Great review!! Me and my fiance will be getting married in 4 weeks at the Rosehall Resort but will be honeymooning at Couples Negril like yourself. So, it was very nice to hear a good review about them, it sets my mind at ease. Thanks!
  18. I tried to email you, but was receiving an error. Her email address is [email protected].
  19. I am getting married there on May 8th of this year and just signed my contract a few weeks ago. I too got the PA system with speakers and had to pay a technician fee of $50...I believe the technician will be the one to start and stop the music when needed during the ceremony. We chose the West Gazebo to have our ceremony because of the privacy and it overlooking the ocean. We are also having a cocktail reception in the same location. It actually saved a little bit of money, since all we had to pay was a set up fee of $500 instead of having to pay more to choose a separate location for the reception. If you have any questions you would like to ask me, I will be more than happy to assist with anything I know. Good luck to all you ladies with the planning and Congratulations!
  20. Yes, I am getting married there on May 8th of this year! I was there a couple of years ago when it was owned by Wyndham and I loved it there. So, it was my first choice when it came to choosing where I was getting married and now that Hilton owns it and it has been renovated makes it even better!
  21. Hi Ladies...I think you have all talked me into getting a bikini wax! I hate shaving and the itching and bumps that come after it!! Now, I just need to find someone that does it around my area. Does anyone have any recommendations on someone in South Jersey? I live between AC and Philadelphia. Thanks!
  22. Hi! I'm getting married in Montego Bay and then having a mini honeymoon in Negril! Can't wait! User Name: Jen Name: Jen & Len Location: Rose Hall Resort, Montego Bay Jamaica Wedding: May 8, 2010 Honeymoon: Couples Negril in JA: 05/4/10 - 05/13/10 Almost 50 guests have booked so far!!! YEAH!
  23. I just completed the 30 day challenge on the WII Active about a week ago and now am currently doing the 6 week challenge on the WII Active More Workouts (its the second DVD). I love it! So far I have lost 11 pounds and am finally able to see a difference in my figure. I definitely love the 2nd DVD alot more, as it works out your abs also, in which the 1st one did not and there seems to be more a variety of excersices with the 2nd. I am looking forward to losing another 11 or more pounds before the big day in May! I would definitely recommend trying it!
  24. Hi Mikababe...OMG..looking at your post is like a mirror image of what I am doing. I'm also going to be a Rosehall bride in May 2010 and have chosen to have both the ceremony and cocktail hour at the West Gazebo overlooking the sea...my total guests will also be around 50 and my wedding is at 3 p.m., so like yourself I have also decided not to have a reception and just have a cocktail hour with 200 pieces of appetizers at the same cost that you were quoted and cocktails costing a total of $277 for 2 gallons each of rum punch and fruit punch. I knew from the beginning that I did not want to pay alot of money on a reception, so I figured since all my guests were going to be on an AI plan, then a cocktail hour would be sufficient enough. Also, with the ceremony being between lunch and dinner, my guests will not be soo hungry. Which wedding package did you choose? I chose the Jamaica Sunshine package and only upgraded the gazebo decor and added a PA system, since we are going to use an IPOD for all our music. I just signed my contract and have paid my wedding in full. The total cost ended being $6,076, which I dont think was too bad. Although, I'm sure I'll think of something else between now and then that I would like to add, but for now I'm happy with it. Well, good luck and keep me informed with any other details you add.
