  1. I have Del Sol ==> Booked http://delsolphotography.com/blog/ for my wedding on February, 18th. They are the first vendor I booked, The Day after I booked the hotel.

There work has been seen in magazine around the world and have been voted one of the top ten destination wedding photographers in the world. They are a little pricey, but they take “Quality†to a new level by there unparalleled ability to capture photo journalism.

If you love the Del Sol style, but would prefer a more economical choice. Matt, Owner of Del Sol is started another company under the Del Sol umbrella called La Luna.

Their website is located HERE -> http://www.lalunaphotographers.com/

You should take a look; I believe some of the pictures posted on the website are of Best Destination Wedding Brides.

  2. It is true. You are not suppose to have any outside vendors...However with that being said. Me and a lot of other girls that have booked Del Sol are just going to buy the two photographers day passes and not say anything to the wedding coordinator. I am going to tell them that the onsite photographer is not longer needed. If they ask why, I will simply explain that a family member will be taking all photos.

This has seemed to work well in the past.

  3. It really depends what you want and what your budget is. If you have a specific look you are going for, or if you want a photographer that does something that the resort photographer does not TTD, late hours, ect) then I would book a photographer. If you looked at the resort photographer and are happy with their pictures stay with them. I am sure the resort wouldnt hire someone that isnt a professional.

I personally feel in love with my photographer

  4. We rented a sound system for the event, but not a DJ. I donâ€t want to get stuck with someone corny.

We might do a few dances to a few select songs but other than that the music will just be background music. We hired a 3 man trio. We are going to have a Private Dinner and Cocktail party on the beach/cove area with lots and lots of paper lanterns hanging from the gazebo and palm trees, tiki torches and decorative tables.

11:30 Makeup /Mani/Pedi at the Resort Spa
    1:30 Hair at the Salon
    4:00 Ceremony
    4:30 Wine and toasting
5:00 Cocktail Party (Should we have our trio play here or have general music? Bride and Groom Photos)
    6:00 Dinner/Speeches
6:45 General Trio (If have the music earlier, I will just have background music playing)
    7:30 Cake/Mayan Coffee
8:00 General Music Playing/Dance of some sort/ Socializing. People can go their own way if they want.

  5. I was just so impressed by my order I had to post.

I was a little skeptical of ths vendor/store because their online site is really ugly but. ...

I order 50 Wine/Egg Plant Puprle Sashes from CV Linens  http://www.cvlinens.com/sashes-organza-sashes-c-21_29.html for $0.68 a sash. I looked for a very long time for egg plant purple. Most sites have Lilac or purple purple but not egg plant purple.

I got the shipment today and the color is OMG spot on!

I was really worried about the color match because I am renting the rest of the linens down at the hotel. I was scared if the color wasnt a true egg plant and more of a lighter purple that it would look stupied.

The price is great too!!! I'll try to post pictures tonight.

  6. My undergrads is in graphic design so I will probably do something fun for the printed portion. I was thinking about using my printer at home, however if the stock is too thick or odd shaped I might just give the design files to a local printers and make them deal with it.

When you said your DYI projects would look like a 2nd grader I got a laugh out of that. Mine would look just like that. I am good at designing stuff ,but I HATE crafts. I would have glue on everything and probably just start crying hehe.

I will probably print my envelopes unless a family member wants to do them for me. I am dyslexic and have unreadable hand writing. Chances are only half of the invites would get their.

When are you going to create yours? You soooo have to post a pictures.

I was pretty impressed with all the chooses Michael's had. I looked at Target/Walmart and online. They by far had the best templates sets. To do them how I want with an online vendor or store would probably cost me hundreds. Which I just cant afford after spending so much on everything else.

I might use Michael's for my AHR as well.

I have gotten a few wedding invites in the mail lately and I think by far the Micheal's ones look a ton better. if you do them right.

I agree, I 'm excited to do-it myself as well.  If I tried those other DYI projects it would like like a 2nd grade art project...lol.

Where are you going to print them out?  And are you printing on the envelope or hand-writing them?
