Hi Ladies!!! I am using the resort photographer but going with the highest package they have because I want more photos and albums. However, my package includes 50 photos. Since I am doing a separate photo package, can I put the 50 photos towards the rehearsal dinner. I saw brides did this. They had the photographer come the night of the dinner as well to take pics. What do you all think?

Thanks jstock!! I will probably stick with the white then!

However, I was busy with my catamaran trip. So I didn't even see her until I walked down the aisle. It was ok, but I would have liked to have met her first. I put together our script but she also had a script that we could have used if I prefered. Do you know who your officiant is? If it is Rosa, I have her script and can probably share it with you. I was wondering about this. I am not sure if I should find my own script or use theirs? How was the script they provided? Did it include a sand ceremony? How did you end up finding the script that you used for your ceremony?

She is very friendly an she took us around the property to show us all of the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception locations. We had our ceremony at the gazebo, cocktail hour at the jacuzzi and reception on the deck. I gave Ana written instructions on how I wanted everything that I brought down to be laid out for the ceremony & the reception. Here I thought that this would make things easier. The resort is very pretty and clean. All my guests were really happy that we chose this resort. The Bad: Rehearsal was set for the morning of the wedding day at 9:00 am. We are a group of late 20's to early 30's. Ana was a whole hour late to rehearsal. Needless to say, that really pissed me off. She did not even bother to call to let me know, we had to go to the front desk to hunt her down. She told me on the phone that she would be 20 minutes late. 20 minutes later we had the front desk call her again and she said another 15 minutes. She did not start my day off well. It also set back the rest of my wedding party for their hair/makeup appointments at the spa. Ana finally met us up at rehearsal and apologized many times, she had to knock off the price of the flowers and let all of my guests coming from other properties with no day pass fees. The ceremony was beautiful and cocktail hour went smooth. Here is what made my day bad again...when I got to the reception, and the emcee announced that we were going to cut the cake. The cake was not even at the reception, they were literally rolling it in and that was embarassing. After we cut the cake, they never brought it back out. We rented the sound system and the technician or whoever lost my cd. Thank god my husband (now) had all our songs backed up on his Iphone. And the tech refused to turn up the music. The contract states that music has to be turned off at 11pm. It was not even close to the time. My uncle had to go and confront him. The spa messed up all my aunt's appointment times at the spa. That was not needed. I'm was really fortunate to have my friend who is an makeup artist and hair stylist come down to get me ready for the wedding day. All my aunts and my mom were not happy with the results with hair and makeup from the spa. Ladies, be warned, they do not do a good job. Overall, the wedding events looked really pretty, but I was not happy with all the things that went wrong. Ana did what she could to make things better. DRC has over 388 weddings scheduled this year and this should be second nature to them. And they still do not have it down and that was really stressful. They picked the wrong bride to mess with! I am so sorry so many things went wrong! I hope you remember all of the good things though! I am nervous now.,,including hair and makeup! Why was the rehearsal on the morning of the wedding. I was hoping we could do it the day before. You're right...they should have this down by now!

Most of the pictures I have seen look like it's pretty dark on the deck. I'm not sure what I can do about that. The light up dance floor was a little expensive I think.

We met with her the day before the wedding and picked out all the food. We had a cocktail hour which I do not feel we needed. It was good, but our guest were ready for dinner. We used their DJ, we should have also skipped him. He said nothing all night and just played songs. We could have done the same with our ipod, which we took so that we were sure we had the right songs. So $300 an hour, the $900 was not worth the $ at all. You just need to rent the sound system and play your own. Exspecially since the DJ did not speak. Not for the cake or dances, NOTHING. The cake is pretty ugly. They said it was just white frosting, so we assumed there would be some type of edgeing or something, NOTHING So we took the BM bouquet apart and put the flowers on the cake for pictures. But no one ate it because you are so full and had dessert for dinner. So I would not pay to upgrade, just bring artificial or taking our bouquet apart worked. The flowers were pretty dead by the end of the night anyways. You can't take them home, so double use them. The table decorations were glass with rose petals and candles in the middle. If you are outside the candles blow out, it is real windy. We had our inside because of the air conditioner. We also took our own chair sashes and colored cloth napkins. The The had everything set up just like we asked. We took maracas to sit on the napkins and that gave the guest a little extra favor. Shake for a kiss. We used fushia napkins and put an orange ribbon on them and then the maracas. Added alot of color at a low cost. We got the sashes for $1 a piece. The plain white chairs looked pretty stark by themselves. The sashes really look pretty there. Our ceremony was on the beach. It is off to the side and gorgeous. The gazebo is right in the middle of everything. NOT private at all. Exspecially if you have it during the day. Lots of people floating around the pool right next to it. And walking all around. It was pretty, but to much going on for our taste. We used the photographer from the resort. The pictures were amazing. Our package includes 50, but there is not way to only pick 50. They also did trash the dress which they could use as part of their 50. They were all so good that it is impossible to pick ones. The bride and groom are still there and still are trying to dwindle the pictures down. As far as hair and makeup, they did a perfect job. Their hair stayed all night. Lots of product and LOTS of makeup, but they know what they are doing. I had a visor on the few days before the wedding and it is so windy when we were taking pictures that my hair blew off my WHITE forhead. I never even thought about it, so make sure you tan your forhead too. The service is wonderful, but it almost seems like you have to tip. They were very accomadating, but you do have to consider quite a bit of extra $ for tips. They upgraded the happy couple to a master suite. It was bigger than an apartment. They covered their room with roses and candles the night of the wedding. Their is NO privacy on any of the balconys. We never saw anyone in them. And the plung pools only were used by a few people that had little kids. There are kids there, but mostly they were fine. There were two boys around 10-11 and they were terribly obnoxious. We along with others told them we were taking them to their parents. They finally left the infinity pool and went to one of the others and bugged people over there. Alot of kids crying in the restaurants, but we would go to dinner between 6 -8 pm. And remember they are on Mexican time. Evertyhing runs late, so don't frett. Our wedding was first set at 7, we moved it up to 6:30 when we met with Ana. It still did not happen until 7:10. Sunset was at 7:30 and we had to hurry to get pictures, We did not get group shots on the beach because we only had enough light time to get the bride and groom. If we would have known, we would have bumped it to 6. We watched lots of weddings, on day they had 3. They never ran into each other, it is very well organized. So do not worry if there are others on your same day, we had two others and it was just fine. We did not even see the other ones. Any questions that you have, just ask, I will be happy to try and answer. Thanks! Great info! Quick Question....Did the bride and groom have to ask for the roses and candles on the night of the wedding? We really want that done but aren't sure if we have to ask for it.

The cocktail hour and reception were not as dark as they look in these photos. I think the professional photos will come out lighter. I love the maracas. I emailed mischka and she wants me to send her my invitation so she can see the colors.

I was thinking I would look for a tote bag with maybe a clear front pocket to slide the welcome note into it. I'm going to ask Ana if these could be handed out by reception as people check in rather than be put in their rooms. I hope they can do it. For some reason I like the idea of them getting something right as they check in. I would like the same thing...for the guests to get the bags as they check in. i got these awesome beach towels from Kmart...couldn't believe it. They aren't personalized but they are really nice, brightly colored towels. A few weeks ago they had them on sale for $3! Couldn't beat that!

I ordered mine because they were only 4 or 5 dollars each. The resort wants to charge you about $25 for each overlay and I don't think they have great colors to choose from. That is insane! I ordered overlays for round tables, chair sashes, as well as a few buffet table overlays. Otherwise, the resort will use white overlays for you. The site I ordered from is weddinglinensdirect.com It has been mentioned a lot on here. Great prices!
