A few years ago, I had my A-HA moment. I had been trying to please others around me, particularly a guy I was dating, by going out a lot and doing fun things. Most fun things ended up revolving around eating. After we broke up, I realized I had been doing so much to please him that I had not focused on how miserable I was with my body. I was so afraid of being rejected if I asked to sit at home instead of going out, and I ended up gaining a ton of weight! When I finally realized that I needed to focus on myself, I joined Weight Watchers and started working out, and I lost about 55 pounds. I've been going up and down 10-15 pounds for the last three years or so, so now it is time to get that last bit off.

Don't worry, birthday calories don't count! At least, that is what I hear... msnwink.gif

There is a book called Fast Food Nation that I had to read in college that discusses the additives that they put in food to make you crave more fast food. For instance, there is something put in many fast food french fries that makes you want a hamburger...

  4. I think a lot of people struggle with eating fast food too often because it is convenient. One thing that keeps me away from fast food places is looking at their nutritional info and seeing just how much fat and how many calories are in their foods. Doing that can be a real eye opener.

If convenience is what you are looking for, try looking for the steamfresh type meals in the frozen food section of the grocery store. They are so much better for you and only take a few minutes to heat.
