Hi everyone! My wedding is June 16th, 2010 and we just started planning about 2 weeks ago so this is crunch time! We are living in Austria at the present moment and trying to plan a wonderful destination wedding! We call Alberta, Canada home and can't wait to go back in April to finish up the planning! We are getting married at Xcaret in the Chapel, if anyone has done this please give me all the advice you have! We will be staying at the GBP Akumal as will most of our guests, we think! Have yet to send out invitations, we just created a wedding website last week with all the information as a save the date & site all in one! I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the reception at the Akumal. Has anyone ordered their cake from the hotel? I have so many questions! I will wait to get some answers first : ) We are using weddingsincancun.com as our wedding coordinators. I have been speaking with Patricia and she has been very good about answering all of my questions. She says that her partner Paloma will be the one that will oversee the actual wedding day - hope that goes beautifully!!! I look forward to hearing all the advice! Thank you!!!

Hi all, I came across this site today after too many hours of searching the internet for wedding advice & pictures. I sat and read so many posts and realized that I had found what I had been looking for!!! Our wedding date is June 16th, 2010. We are getting married at the Chapel in Xcaret and staying at the Gran Bahia Principe Akumal for 2 weeks! Our wedding planner is Paloma from weddingsincancun.com, have not met her yet, but her co worker Patricia has been wonderful to us so far. I would love to hear any advice that ya'll have! Currently our dilemma is what do to for the reception. I have heard that some have had great experiences at a la carte restaurants on the property, please tell me more! Also, we would like to possibly have drinks & dancing by the pool, haven't gotten pricing back from the hotel yet for this. But our wedding is at 7pm, which was the only option I was given?
