I wanted Claudia Rodriquez but maybe I will just stick with the resort photographer and save myself some money. I was definitely planning to hire Mike Cantarell as our videographer but if he is part of the Dreams wedding package that is fantastic! My DSW is getting in touch with Claudia to confirm and see what he provides as part of the package. Thanks for the help ladies! :-) Ok, so Hidden Worlds (the cenote) contacted me. (Wedding party ultimate - $85 a person, includes use of two zip lines and sky cycles, 2 snorkle tours, and personal photographer with 50 photos on a cd per person, and travel to and from hotel. Trash the Dress - $65 a person includes travel, photog, cd, and snorkel. Each package has a minimum of 10 ppl, so you have to do the whole wedding party, but I'm sure you can some pics on your own). They said if you want an intimate session, it's different and you have to contact their photog, which I did. I asked about underwater and samples. I'll get back to you all when he responds! Wedding and Group Packages at Hidden Worlds Yucatan Mexico Riviera Maya btw, hidden worlds is where Dos Ojos cenote is... If you all have not seen Jo's TTD, look here! Amazing. It's what made me want a Cenote shoot! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...c-heavy-52639/

  3. Philly, would it be too much to ask if you could snap a pic of your book with a page open. I would love to see how the pics are placed. My friend's leather album was really nice with some 4x6 and 5x7 slots, some vertical some horizontal, so it didn't look like those albums with plastic sheets with all the photos in a row. It had some character. was yours someone like this ( I know you said yours are all 4x6) What did the prints look like? are they glossy, mat, high luster, thicker than average or really think like walgreens does? I just wish my entourage (WC Photog's, etc) would email me back so I could get real answers....deep breath!
  4. PhillyBride... were your photo's retouched (special effects, sharper image..airbursh, playing with the light, mixed black and white w/ color)? Also, what did the album look like.. were the photos high quality luster, is it a black or white book, leather? Sorry, lots of questions. sooo.... crazy day. Just found out all in one day that his parents are "ok" with the idea of Cancun... meaning they will not complain (YAY!) and then received an email from my photog stating that he won't be able to come shoot our wedding afterall, even though he feels incredibly silly for not taking the opportunity (he's my age and about to start a family soon, and doesn't want to commit and then have to back out... kudos to telling me way before rather than close to the wedding, but still a bummer... his work is amazing, and he gives you 4x6 of 400-500 photos in a desinger display box to keep (and not one with "proof" stamped on it). I want to cry... but need to move on.... soooooooo was looking at keeping the resort photog (all u ladies who did the same look amazing) and found out that Dos Ojos Cenote (or at least I think it's this one) has a TTD group outing. 50 photos from personal photog, transport to and from your resort, snorkling, lunch for 4 hours @ $60 a person. $85 throws in zip lines, sky cycle, another hour. I emailed to see if they do underwater and to see a sample. I'll let you know.
  5. I'm afraid of those online stores because I would have to send in my ring to get it repaired, and I don't even know if they do it for free. Also, I wouldn't be able to try it on. Local stores at least have a lifetime service policy, they will replace the diamonds if need be and I can get them cleaned and polished for life for free), I know a 1,000 isn't much more over time, but I'm losing my job soon, and we will need a house too. maybe I should just go no band! HAHA. I'm thinking along the lines of a plain plat too. Thanks for all those suggestions. I'll look at blue nile again and see the services they offer too.
  6. So, I've been looking forever for a band that will flush with my e-ring. I have found very few (and those that do are pretty $$). What I'd really like is a halfway (diamonds halfway around because eternity is mucho $$) band with channel set princess cuts in platinum (my e-ring is princess and the band is platinum and I want my bands to age similarly). The problem with princess cuts, is that they rise higher than round cuts, so then the band lays higher than my e-ring. I managed to find one finally in platinum, but it was $1900. I don't know if that's designer price or just the price of platinum and diamonds. But then, I went to Jared (where we bought my e-ring) yesterday and found a clearance piece that was actually an eternity band (not just halfway) and platinum for $799! The only problem is that they are round instead of princess and it is a tad loose (you can't size eternities). But I feel for a deal, I could forgo the princess cuts and the size won't matter too much because my e-ring will hold it in place. I'm seriously ready to jump on it, but my question to everyone is.... is it worth it? $799 is still quite a bit, and maybe I'm not as diamond savvy as some of you are. Is this a good price or are you gals finding better for similar styles?

  21. philly bride, I love your pics, they are so gorgeous, and you have great weather. Your fish eyes aren't bad because they focus on you two and put the background as an enhancer. I just don't like the gazebo views as fish eyes because there is too much detail being crowded and distorted. he does seem very talented! Abbie, looooove the idea of using the bridal party to cover up the rocks... HAHAHAHA!
