Hi, you will be getting married a week after me! It's so nice to start seeing people getting married around my time! And in the riviera maya! If you choose Cancun, we might see eachother! Welcome!
-
Key West!!! Lovely and close if you live in states! Happy Planning!
-
Yay! Maroma beach is fantastic I hear (one of the best). And yay for your dress! You should post it on the "show us your dress thread!" If you can't choose a color, have a rainbow of colors! All of those colors will definitely pop against the blue and turquoise background!

This will be an exciting time for you! Congrats and welcome!

Starfish Passing Thread
peterpanpixiedust replied to becks's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Me as well. I am getting married June 18th 2011 and would love the little blue guy (or honestly any guy is cute). Totally thought I already posted this, but I can't find it. Grr. Southern Sweety, we will be getting married within a week of each other and will both be in Cancun. If it's allowed, maybe you could pass yours to me directly if you stay after (i will be arriving several days early). That could be neat! -

Please let us know how the replica turns out! Ladies, all of your dresses came out amazing, you all look beautiful in them! I am now considering having my dess made instead of spending major $$$$. Since the FI and I are paying for the wedding I would like to keep our spending within our budget as much as possible and this is a perfect way to save I am pretty sure you are having a hard time because it is a new dress. I can find most of the other Amy Michelson's on other websites that advertise carrying her, but not that one. There was even a time when facebook had her line on there and I saw most but not Diamond. (Swoon kind of looks like it, but only in the back). I have no idea how it will fit, because I didn't try it on in any stores. But I do notice most Amy Michelson's retail at $3,500 and up. Even the used ones are asking for $1,200 (about what I paid for my actual ceremony dress). I know it will be somewhat different, because Gianinar doesn't use silk charmeuse (which I'm pretty sure it's made out of, because most of her dresses are; it's what gives it the silkiness of satin and the flow of chiffon all at once), they will be using "thin satin" and it's polyester based (which I am fine with because it will be going in the water and polyester is fine in water). I am keeping my fingers crossed, but when I ordered it everyone loved gianinar. Now, all these recent mishaps have me scared. I will post as soon as they send the proofs. It's a little over day 30 (they said 30-45) and my wedding is over a year away, so they might take their time. We shall see!!! :-)

After reading this I guess I'm the only crazy person. I really wanted to have my E ring polished just before going and tuck it in the box until pics. I am a perfectionist and I don't want any smudges on it. But now after reading this maybe I should just suck it up and wear it. Grrr! FI and I usually don't have a problem with me not wearing it all the time because I don't wear mine to work already. I just love how it looks when it comes back from a polish and that sheen goes away so quickly (my fiance's loves to hold my hand OVER the ring, and even when I remind him, he forgets. So it's gets oils on it pretty quickly. God bless him).

Try not to be sad. I really think (and hope for myself) that things will work out for the best. Maybe this is one of those tests we have to face and just laugh at. In reality, we are marrying the men (and women for all you gents , or any types of couples) of our dreams, we are on a vacation, we have beautiful sunny days, and the ocean. And one day we will have a story to tell our kids! Hopefully it will be a story of how frustrated we were only to find out it was more beautiful than imagined!!!!

I finished yet another grad class today! Only a few more to go until student teaching!!!! I took a look at my ring today (over 6 months and it still makes me smile). Enjoying a glass of wine! And I have you lovely ladies (and gents) to make me happy! Anyone want to make me forget about the bad stuff, please check my other thread out. Right now the wine is making me forget about it though :-D http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...2/#post1258912

So, I've been working at my job for almost 2 years. I've hated it from the beginning, but need the money, as all of us do. Well, one of the major reason's I've stayed is because the Dr. and his wife (who does the accounting) constantly state that I am their best hygienist and they love when I clean their teeth. I love what I do and give my all to these patients. The downside is that one of their assistants is constantly up my butt about horribly stupid issues (the blinds broke, I tripped over a patients purse, my patient shows up EARLY and I'm still working on my current patient). She is driving me nuts and making it hard to focus on the important things (charting detail) because I feel like I need to rush now. She is constantly telling me how the doctor doesn't want to pay me to sit around. I don't know what she's talking about, as I do my job, and help out at the front desk, call patients, and help in the sterilization room! I feel like the doctor should tell me this and not her. Well.... a few days ago after getting rid of their 4TH!!! receptionist, they decided to revamp the office and make that girl our boss!!!! Now, she's on this kick and completely let the title get to her head. To make matters worse, the economy sucks (duh!) and patients are dwindling. But I feel like they are scapegoating me and telling me that it "must" be my fault. No proof, but the doctor said, "I know it isn't me." Does it have to be anyone's fault?!?! Can't they just accept that people who are laid off don't feel like paying 2-3 hundred for a cleaning/exam, only to be told they have cavities? How come when they were full of patients, I had an awesome review, but now that we are slow, I must be scaring the patients away?? Oh, and the doctor is concerned that I haven't brought new patients in yet either. He thinks people should be coming in because they've heard good things about their hygienist! Who seriously has stepped into a dental office and said, I want to be a patient here because I have heard about the hygienist? I am incredibly bummed, and have no one to talk to because I am the only hygienist in my office. I just want to quit, but again, money is a factor. Please help with any advice!

Missgomes... Me too! The back is sooo sexy! Barbiegirl..... If you are afraid the dress makes you look wide, maybe you can have the sash altered to your natural waist. Right now it looks to be between your waist and hips... that will make the best of us look wide (btw you look gorgeous whatever you think!). I know I like the dividers (sashes, seams, decor) at my natural waist and not at the empire (makes me look pregnant) or the hips (makes me look wide). Hope this helps! JamK32179.. Just hit my 30 day too! Came on here to post it right after midnight. We're only a day behind, it'll be interesting to see when ours comes in. Super excited for anyone waiting.

MD2002... Thank you for posting that! I was about to come on here and tell everyone that they needn't keep talking about mens "feelings." I am surrounded by men who act like they have none. I just figured you could tell him you wanted to upgrade, and he would either say "sure" or "can't afford it." Guys and girls are tricky species to each other, and I truly believe we have no real idea how the other works. I was going to say, "sure," go ahead and upgrade, but definitely not behind his back. But, now after reading your post, I have mixed feelings. I want to tell you to go for it, because you have to wear it for the rest of your life and it is an investment on the rest of your life, but if your guy is like MD2002, is it worth it to sacrifice his hard work and sweat in earning the money and picking out that specific ring, worrying all the time if you would like it? On the other hand, there is my future brother in law who couldn't stop bragging that he spend under $700 for his wife's e-ring and her ring. I don't even think he put effort into, might have even gotten it at walmart. Man, it's a toughy! I hope it works out for you in whatever you choose. I love my ring, but we picked it out together.

Mia put it on automatically (on her ring finger no less) and gave him a big hug...so excited and in love with her new ring. She then asked “How about mommy?â€. Chris then pulled out my ring for Mia to see. “Oh she’s going to love itâ€.....she told him. He then asked “Could you bring the ring down to Mommy and ask her if she’ll marry me?â€. Mia was soooooo excited that she said “yes†and ran downstairs. She walked into the Kitchen and said “Mom, Chris wants to marry youâ€...I looked at her very confused and caught off guard. It takes a special man to think of involving the most precious person my life in the sweetest proposal ever. Mia and I both wear our rings that Chris bought us...mine representing the engagement, and Mia’s representing the commitment Chris has made to her. I'm crying right now... that's all I have to say

The most AWESOME wedding entrance!!!
peterpanpixiedust replied to peterpanpixiedust's topic in Just venting or funnies
yeah, that I'm sure of, I just hope the first was real! I love when people get creative. Before I ever saw these videos, I always wanted to do the "Jump on it" dance for my first dance (Will and Carlton from Fresh Prince). -
The most AWESOME wedding entrance!!!
peterpanpixiedust replied to peterpanpixiedust's topic in Just venting or funnies
Yes.... right after! It saddened me because it made me think the whole thing (marriage too) was staged. Just because they used the same song and they became super good at the dancing. But I hope the first was real! -
Any Chicago area 2010 brides out there?
peterpanpixiedust replied to hockeymom97's topic in Brides Roll Call
Aw, this is the only Chicago one... but sadly I'm 2011. I'm afraid to make another thread (suffer from slight mod phobia - always afraid I'll post one too many...lol). I'm from the south suburbs and totally up for meeting with the more seasoned planners if I'm welcome. Otherwise, have a fun get together! -
Ok ladies (and gents), did a search and could not find this. So I HAD to share. Mods, if it exists on here already, please feel free to delete and accept my apologies. I just feel that this would brighten anyones day! YouTube - JK Wedding Entrance Dance Wish I could do this, but we are already doing the beach things, and I feel that's too many themes... might clash.. What do you guys think?

Only married 7 weeks and heading for divorce :(
peterpanpixiedust replied to Sparkles8300's topic in Just venting or funnies
I'm glad to see you guys are trying to work it out. Another idea: if he's so willing to "talk" to her. Then he should get together with her one day... with YOU as well. Have a respectful (or else you will lose credibility) group discussion about how you two have decided that it is no longer a good idea to have them two communicate. First tell him that you want to do this. This way that girl hears it from his mouth and gets a chance to see that you are clearly involved in the process and you mean business. It's his responsibility to be faithful, but it wouldn't hurt to tell her like it is and request (tactfully, so she doesn't do it to spite you) that she leaves you two alone. He's got an amazing gorgeous forgiving wife, and he needs to see that or else he may not be so lucky later on. I'm routing for you! HUGS! -
Getting on the plane and arriving at the resort and greeting guests. Bride and groom before the ceremony, ceremony, photo shoot after at several locations (my resort has a light house, the gazebo, the ocean, and the rocks), first dance/cake cut, and at least some dancing at the reception. The day after would be a cenote TTD with above and underwater photography, then back to the resort for a beach TTD, then at the end of the day when the sun is setting doing honeymoon stuff (sipping drinks together, or laying in a hammock). CD of digital images plus the edited images (color enhance, b&w, mixed color and B&W, sepia, softening, some airbrushing of closeups), full rights, and album with different sized photos. Also the engagement session would be nice. Am I do greedy, or just detailed?!?! A second photographer would be nice for the ceremony too. Does video count too? From getting ready, to at least our first dance at sunset, I would like video. Plus a highlights video to show friends. Oh, and I forgot, I want to do some shots of the photographer, or of us and the photographer being goofy. They are a bit part of the day?
