Hey girls, somebody's been blogged, is it you?!?! Guest Blogger: Fawn Thomas This is a trash the dress recently blogged about by Dreams' own blogger and it was Dreams Cancun. Juan was their photographer. Very nice! However, I do notice now that he used some of the same poses for everyone (drawing heart in the sand). I wouldn't mind, because I'm only going to have my pics, but in case any of you do.
  2. Awesome review, but now i'm scared about Claudia. She's my coordinator! I'm hoping maybe she works a little harder for weddings that she's planned with the whole way ( I've heard good reviews before). I hope I can give an entree option!
  3. Lilz! thank you for your pics and I can't wait to read your review! In fact, I'm checking it out now! Congrats girl!
  4. Well, I know I have been posting like every 10 days or so with my count down, but today is day 45! So I guess now all I have to do is wait. I'm am so incredibly bored right now, and all the initial excitement is gone and I need things to occupy my time. Getting my proof pics would be a plus, but I've heard some girls say that it took way longer than the 30-45 days. Grrr. I gave then a much earlier date than my wedding, so I hope it comes in soon. I'm afraid to email them because then they might rush. What do you all think?
  5. I see everyone with May dates getting booked! So exciting. My TA says that we won't even start looking at prices until May (which is now.. yay). But we might be waiting a bit for prices to come down. :-( I want the waiting to stop!!! I am currently waiting for my dress to come in, my TTD proof pics, my deposit on photog, and my site visit in June, booking, and making the STD's (which I don't want to start until I can get some info from the TA and our engagement pics. If the TTD dress pics could come in, it would alleviate some of the waiting.
  6. awww. pretty! And you are going to Fiji!!!! Incredible jealous and excited for you. I've already told FI that we are NOT going to start having children until I get my trip to Bora Bora!
  7. wow! i'm so sorry you had to do go through all of this. How dare he tell you not to tell him how to do his job. You hired him, and are paying him!!!! Well, i still believe you have a better attitude than I would have and I am now looking into making an album like yours! Thank your for all your info.
  8. Oh, I love the idea of a meet up sorord1! Lauren, Jamaica sounds fun! And yes, my fiance remembers your name. His name is Chris Mocarski (sound familiar?). If you were in his class, than you were in the same class as Gina Glocksen from American Idol! I know he said they were in the same drama group and I worked for her uncle (he's a dentist and I'm a hygienist) in Frankfort a while back! Super small world! Sorord1 - I went to the Georgios in January, when I thought I was doing a Vineyard Wedding in Southern Illinois. It slightly helpful, but more just a way for people to call you and tell you that you won something when it turns that you have to listen to them talk about their products.
  9. 40 days! I am chomping at the bit!!! Luciel.. gorgeous!!! Westxgrl... I like the second one the best! So romantic (but I am biased with the mesh/lace applique overlay)
  10. Hi Lauren! Ha, I live in Tinley right now with my fiance (I myself am from Frankfort). Maybe u went to school with him (he went to Andrew - class of 02). Are you still close?
  11. what do they mean when the starfish "dies"? Are we actually gluing jewels on these poor starfish and shipping them around the country and depriving them of water? I thought they were jewels :-(

I haven't book yet, but am going to try to arrive by at least Thursday if not earlier. I just looked at the hotel zone map and noticed that Moon Palace and Dreams Cancun are on opposite ends (haha, nothing about weddings is simple I guess). Cancun, Mexico, hotels and tourist Information (here's the map). However, my fiance's family will be staying at the Royal Sands between yourr and my wedding. The Royal Sands close to the halfway point and on an open beach that does not require a guest pass. Would it be possible for us to meet around there, or should I ask to be taken off the list? Oh, no. Just found out that fiance's family's timeshare week moved up and they won't be at the Royal sands until the week after my wedding. I am still going to try to get there early, but now I don't have the Sands as a meeting place. :-(

  14. Everything makes me break out, even dermatologist prescription spf. Help!!
  15. Darn, I like it the way it is. Open to the heavens. Now it kinda looks like the gazebo at Le Meridien Cancun. I'll be sad when it gets filled in. I'm not liking the yellow floor in the gazebo illustration and the roof looks like one of those little latex finger gloves (the ones you use to count money)
  16. You all have beautiful attidudes! Sorry, but I kind of vented on facebook. Not for me, but for all you recent/soon to be brides affected. Carolina and Meldal.. I said hi to you guys on the gazebo comment thread yesterday (right after you guys discovered eachother). I was the one that vented that huge paragraph! Now I see there are more recent complaints there. Oh joys. The little Gazebo is actually really cute, and if you photography out toward the ocean, there will be no blue tarps... and a wider ocean view with no rocks (small bonus right?!?!)
  17. Welcome! Even if he isn't a fan, remember that doing a legal ceremony down there involves many steps. Translation of your birth certificates to Spanish, and blood work, you need to be there 3-4 days in advance, and then you have to wait for the whole process of getting your marriage docs legal in the states (which I read somewhere takes a couple of months). Ladies who've done so, correct me if I'm wrong. If all that is ok with you, you have the ease of only doing it once at least. I know the biggest factor for me was that I wanted a minister, not a judge, but for a legal ceremony, they need a judge. You will find lots of info here!
  18. Welcome! That's awesome that your aunt can get you a discount! Congrats and happy planning!
  19. Congrats! So close! I don't know about your resort, but technically, if they are paying for their rooms and staying there (they are a guest), as long as guests are allowed to take pics (what resort wouldn't allow you a camera), you should be fine. The only problem is feeding them, they will probably have to be part of your dinner count. And I would keep mentioning that it is a friend, because if you pay them for their services, they are techinically working and need a visa (but many resorts don't check up on it I hear).
  20. Congrats! I'm not a travel agent, but if you are looking for most affordable, I'd say Mexico is cheaper air. But there so many interesting things to do in the Bahamas (the first place I wanted my honeymoon). Both would be winners! I'm doing Mexico for my wedding and there are plenty of chicas on here that you can get info from for either location!
