Starfish Passing Thread
peterpanpixiedust replied to becks's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Oh, that's so sad. He must be so lonely! I fear one day someone is going to take him and write a book or make a movie about it. Such a great tradition, but you deserve to get him back. Maybe if you do find him you should set a retire date, so this doesn't keep happening to you. I'll keep your little guy in my thoughts! -
I bet you looked gorgeous! Very summery! I fear I was That girl once (well sort of). Bride said wedding was very formal. So I asked if floor length gown was appropriate, and she was like absolutely!! I was excited because I had been waiting to wear this red one that I had bought when I thought my friend was choosing it for her wedding (then picked another). I got there and NO ONE was in long gowns, not even the bridesmaids. So, not white, but definitely stood out LOL. Although, bride said I was worrying over nothing. I would not want you to feel that way at all, so I am being honest when I say that looks great and probably did not stand out (unless everyone else was in ball gowns..lol)

The first two are the new dress (very shiny, and baggy. Hopefully better in person). The updated first dress are the second pics (neck may be two low for a bra... which I need, I asked them to take my chest into consideration when they lowered it, and they asked for my measurement from neckline to chest.. so we'll see. But they didn't listen to how I wanted a V and not rounded... oh well) The original looked best, but they can't bring it back now that they cut the fabric ( I should have asked them to only pin it first so I could see, but I felt I was getting too picky). The new one looks lobsided and big, but I guess I'll just see when it comes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed everything will look nice on!

Oh my gosh, this is so late, but I went to Eva's in Oak Lawn. So sorry, sometimes i just get enough time to check a few threads. And it's hard looking at all these gorgeous dresses when mine is being remade. AJ, your dress is absolutely gorgeous. Your thin soft satin looks much better than my thin soft satin in picture. which makes me hope that maybe my pic was dull. Well, I got my new pics. They lowered the neck in the first dress, and I decided it was too low for my little boobs that need a bra. So I had them make the second dress (they offered to remake in a different, less matte fabric) just the way they made the first originally. So I'm going to have two dresses sent and now I'm afraid that the first would have been perfect, but now the neck is too low, and the second looks too shiny (but maybe it's a picture thing, and in real life it's not). I wish they could have had silk charmeuse available. Oh well, they still look very nice and great quality (although I am scared of the pin holes I keep hearing about). I should be getting them any day now. If I like one, I may try selling the other (no sense in two right) for very cheap since they threw the second in for a smaller price.

I know how you feel about budget. We normally wouldn't be able to do it either. We were already going to Cancun because his parents have a timeshare and it FI's turn to go. Actually, that was the whole reason we picked Cancun. We figured that they were already going to be there, they would just have to come over to the resort for one day. So, when we picked this resort, we planned our site visit for one day. They gave us a discounted rate of $99 pp. We stayed the rest of the time at the timeshare (so, we only paid airfare, the site visit, and our vacation extras). It was my first vacation in 10 years! I'm so glad you like the powder! I used it on FI too! Quote: Originally Posted by hockeymom97 What a great review and it's great that you were able to do a site visit ahead of time. And I know it's totally off topic, but I just started using the Peter Thomas Roth powder sunscreen that you recommended too (I was already using other products in the same line) and it's awesome!! Anyone with oily skin, or who has a tendancy to break out, should definitely check it out!

I got my dress at Nordstrom (it was quite inexpensive) rather than at a bridal salon. What do you think ladies? Am I missing a quintessential part of being a bride, or am I just missing a huge price tag? JS Boutique Beaded Crisscross Matte Jersey Gown - View All - Nordstrom I'm not sure. Part of me wants to say that you are not worrying. But if you already feel like you are missing out, then you probably are. This is your one day! Be practical, but be happy with your decision. If you decide on trying for the bridal salon, you could always use your Nordstrom as your TTD, or try selling it here! If you decide that your dress is perfect, then awesome score on the small price tag!! Good luck! MP1122 Totally wanted Catholic too, but also wanted outside.. We are having our Catholic at home.

I am flying my own photographer as well but i will use Juan for my TTD session. Thanks in advance!! No problem. I didn't need any money too book vendors. They just added the total on to my contract and we all talked it out together. Mike (Miguel) was great and Juan sat in our meeting even though I used him for my engagement photos only. We figured out alot! But, Claudia still hasn't sent the updated contract, so I asked my TA to contact her. I hope your site visit is awesome!

Also, if that's Cecilia's, then it seems like they share the same email (but mine always says Claudia Cantilla in the name box)? Hmmmmm? Any help?

Krista's Planning Thread!

Hey girl! Good luck and I know it will be beautiful! -
Most will offer the 700 plus package for free if you stay 7 nights. I know Dreams offers the basic $799 package for free if you book 7 nights (and I think it can be any room category), and you get champagne and cake for 10 people (just in case the parents want to come). And right now if you book through a TA like Tammy on this site, the can give you a great deal plus peace of mind. Hope this helps! Congrats on the baby/wedding!

I just visited Dreams for a day and did my site visit and engagement photos because we were already going to be in Cancun at my future In laws timeshare. That's actually how we decided on Cancun!

My future sis-in-law has an adorable little guy named Frankie (named after Mr. Sinatra)! She entered him in this Gerber contest and I'd love to see him win! Especially since this poor guy has had a rough summer. He's had to wear this head shaping helmet all summer long due to his head being flat in the back. He's such a trooper (hopefully only one more visit and it's off!). He just learned to crawl, but only goes backwards....LOL. He also likes rolling around and tugging on his Nana's curtains (we all kind of encourage him because of how frustrated she gets when he does it). . You just enter your email, check that you are older than 13 and click the security logo. FI and I were kinda bad and entered 3-4 emails each (I have two yahoos, and two schools..haha) Here's the link http://www.gerber.com/photo/#/gallery/ His ID is 18476, our you can enter Frankie in the name section and Orland Park in the city section. I hope this is ok. I saw that Tammy and some other people posted baby vote requests here. If it's not alright, please delete and accept my apologies!

Good luck everyone! And thanks to whoever nominated me! You all rock and make my life better!

Andim, you two look great! As all have stated, I can't wait for the review. P.S. I just went on to the MOTM thread, and I saw my name there, and I wanted to thank whoever nominated me! I really feel that you all have helped me so much more than I can dream to help you. I wish we could all meet up one day! Happy 4th!

I booked my ceremony for 6pm, but I want to know if I need to move it up an hour to have enough sunlight for professional pics afterwards. Can you believe we're now actually counting down months?!? Yay, I know... MONTHS!!!! Sorry I didn't get back to you so soon. I got back and posted my review, then had to go to work extra for the week before. Then my Papa died, and then I had to give my notice to work. So kind of a crazy two weeks since I've been back. Southernweetie, I responded to you on one of the threads (I just can't remember which one, so I might go find it and PM you). Also, It was hard to gage the sunset, because it was always cloudy except one day we were at dinner, and I got some great pics (we were at the Thai lounge). I took pics between 7:20 and 7:40 , and an internet site said about 7:30 for sunset. I put my reception at 7, if that helps. OH MY GOSH!!!! I Have a date twin finally MP1122!!!!!

you ladies are all making me hungry! My FI makes a great Minestrone (beats the pants off of Olive Garden even, and that is saying something) He found it off a restaurant recipe copier, so I shall hunt for it to show you all!
