Hi, I was kinda hoping I would stay on the same list as Southern Sweetie. We were both planning on passing the starfish in person as we are both getting married in Cancun a week from each other and I have been trying to make my travel plans around it. The reason I was added to another list is because JanineA asked some others (which i thought southern sweetie was one of), but I didn't realize we got separated. It looks like she's on both lists now, but I'm only on one (due to one of the girls having her own wedding in the same week). Has anyone confirmed with Southern Sweetie which one she is going to be on? I tried PMing her too. I hope this still works out for us... we were getting excited about an actual BDW meetup! Thank you to both girls who decided to share their starfish with us, you both are awesome! Any one else still confused about the new forum (I keep trying to quote but apparently keep hitting the wrong message)? P.S. My travel dates are official now June 15-June29th (well, those are the hotel dates, we may try to fly in one more day early dependent on southern sweetie's starfish situation, so that way I can be in time switch) -

I know right, like I said, they should be ashamed. I'm pretty easy going (unless you ask my FI...LOL). And I can tolerate a lot. I didn't get mad when the girls were hoarding, just bummed. But the fee thing, I needed to get on my soapbox... I can't believe the employees didn't stop them, as I don't know how that can be legal. And it was all over the news. Queen Diva- You found your dress girl! Congrats! Yay! Let's see a pic. I bet you look gorgeous. -

just expect to not get a dress for a while and you'll be fine. Wait a bit and the dresses will even start going back on the racks. Try on as many as you can, because you never know what might fit. I just found out their was a red dress (I wish I would have seen it, I totally would have tried it on). Let us know how it goes for you. I'm wishing you the best of luck. I already found mine too sorord1. I wanted a trash the dress. Actually I ordered a knock off for that, and I ended up getting two for one in a way. So now I have 4. I might try to sell the knockoffs; they are Amy Michelson's.. Two of the same, but one in matte satin and one in silky satin (i didn't like the first fabric, so they made the other and sent them both for 40 dollars extra, so I could see how they both looked). I have places to wear them, like the Catholic wedding, the court (if we go ahead and do that early for insurance reasons), and the trash the dress and destination wedding. I never planned on it that way, but I spent less than 500 for the other 3 dresses. And I technically only bought 2. I must sound crazy! -
Congrats girl! It feels good doesn't it? You others will get there too!

That's exactly how I felt. Now I'm sad that all of us on Itsfinallyhere's list won't get the chance, because it went MIA. I fear it is too late for us to sign up on another. I wonder if we could get another one and send it to the next person on the list. What do you all think -
Lost my engagement ring...Oooppsss

I'm so glad you have insurance. As long as u lost in in your house, you will eventually find it. However, you might have a new one by then with insurance. So then you'll have two! -

But from what I have read/heard - there are some fabulous deals to be had. Did you buy a dress Chris? And what time did you actually get in line or get to the store? Was it as crazy as everyone says? I heard that girls just start changing in and out of dresses in the middle of store.... Yes I bought a dress - either will be my TTD or my at home Catholic ceremony dress, because I already bought THE DRESS in Feb... still did not come in yet though :-( And yes, we all got down to our skivvies (sp?) I wore an adhesive Nubra and nude seamless panties. And now for the story.... I just found about about this phenomenon this week. So, I went alone-no one could get time off with such short notice :-( I got there at 6:30am ish, and the line was on 3 sides of the building wrapping around. As I walked to the end, I thought "Why am I here? By the time I get there, there will be no gowns on the rack and with nothing to trade, no one is going to give me anytihng." But I figured, what else am I going to do? I got to talking with the people around me. All had team shirts on and some had size and description signs of the dresses they were looking for. One group came from St. Louis, another from Kentucky. When they finally let us in, I didn't do the literal running part, as there was no room. It was a zoo! The first groups hoarded most of the dresses and sat on them. One group was only accepting trades for size 20's and clearly had at least 20 dresses that were smaller (which could have helped out a lot of brides). Instead of getting angry, I reminded myself that I expected this and sat on the sidelines waiting for some charitable person to give me any dress, so I could start the trading process. I pretty much stood in one spot and let everyone else walk around and ask for trades. The girl next to me had on a gorgeous dress, and I told her so. She liked it, but wasn't sure. I finally had the guts to ask her if I could try it on (just to see if it even fit, because if not, I could stop dreaming about her dress! LOL). She said sure, and it fit! So I decided there was no point in searching anymore. I asked if she decided to give it up, could I have it. She had no problem with that. Dresses came and went, and I was pretty sure I wasn't getting the dress, as no other dresses compared to that first. In fact, she had so many requests to trade that dress. Girls even offered to search the whole store to find exactly what she wanted in order to have this dress. It was by mere chance that another dress (that some other girl was trying on) was exactly what she was looking for a James Clifford. She had wanted a V neck instead of a strapless. By the grace of god, this other girl just gave it to her, and she tried it on. She had me try on the other so she could compare them side by side. Then we switched, and compared again. Finally, her fiance expressed that he loved her in the second dress and she excitedly stated that the first dress was mine! We hugged and the brides around cheered for us finding our dresses! It was truly a great bonding experience. She, her fiance, family, and friends came all the way from San Francisco, so I'm really glad she found what she wanted. The best news... both our dresses cost a mere $249 plus tax! Mine was an Alfred Sung. All in all, it was an amazing experience. Although crowded, no one was violent or pushy. There was some greediness, but I understood that these girls didn't want to give up something unless it brought them closer to THE ONE! Plus, some of these girls camped out at 3pm the day before, so they worked hard for those dresses. But many girls were very understanding and willing to work with you. The only thing that disgusted me was that some girls were charging finder fees instead of trading. My gosh, people came here to find an affordable dream dress, not to pay to try on a dress that might not be the one. This is supposed to be about finding your dream dress, not making a quick buck. (I'm sorry if anyone reading this was one of these people and is offended, but the ones who truly felt offended were those brides jipped out of their chance to find their dream gown... Shame on you!!) But moving on... the pics!! at the end of the line on the opposite site of the building (turned 2 corners) some girls wore hats a dual team (2 brides and entourages in one circle of friends) these ladies are from St. Louis and these ladies are from Kentucky the line is getting closer to the entrance (we barely missed being pooped on by pigeons right about here) my first look at the craziness inside Taryn and I (I'm on the left), we are wearing what turns about to be eachother's dresses in this pic my dress finally makes it to me!! more to come... -

Tammy! Thank you so much for everything you do. We will all figure out as a family how to navigate this new version! One question, Will we still have PIPs (i know you said no siggy pics)/ -
You guys are really awesome! I can't get cobra, because I never had a group plan. I have my own coverage (one of the downsides of being a part time employee). So, I saved enough money to keep my insurance going for a few months. It's just that I have to make sure I pay off the one bill before I make another one. I resigned, so I can't collect unemployment (and they made sure that I gave them a formal written resignation too). They really weren't doing anything bad in regards to my replacement, they just found the replacement early. Just as well I guess. Again, thank you all for your support. I hope I can return it!

If you pm her, she'll probably give you the link to her snapfish. If you go to my site visit review, there's a link to my photobucket

On the bright side, now that I have a new symptom, maybe I can figure out what is wrong with me. I have had digestive problems for years. About 3 years ago I was overweight and in a lot of pain. Had tons of tests to no avail. Then went on some medication that was supposed to help my intestines restore peristalis (that snaking motion that moves food along). And and I got better, but still pain. Now, I am underweight and still have discomfort (but not pain at least). However, when I finally got to the hospital with this new symptom (the blood), I had waited so long (thanks to my work) that it had stopped and the ER couldn't find anything (but still charged me $500). Now I have to schedule a colonoscopy and hopefully I can finally figure this out, but too bad I have no $$ now to schedule. I guessed it would hard, but no one told me life was going to be this frustrating.

Well, I officially gave my notice. I gave them a month, they wanted a month and a half. I said sure, and then the next day (last wednesday) they tell me don't come in for today because they have a working interview. So much for the month and a half I was counting on those paychecks, but I know in the long run it will be better for me. In fact, right before I gave notice, I needed to go to the hospital and I was asked to go after my last patient because they needed the money (which was 4 hours after I asked to go). They couldn't let me leave for an emergency (I have digestive issues and was passing blood!!!) sorry for the graphics, just needed somewhere to vent. So I'm scared about the precarious financial situation I put myself in, but I had to leave anyway.... Student teaching starts in a month and I'm excited! Just wish I had a babysitting job or something while I'm teaching to help with the bills. Anyone need a sitter in the Chicagoland area?

It has thin staps that crisscross, so I need a completely backless option and the only one that gives me cleavage are those sticky pad types like Nubra. Thanks though! I will try to get pics as soon as possible, the dresses are in!

You should get a lot done. I was only there one day, (well, before it turned into two days on accident), but the first day we met with Claudia and the vendors, had breakfast, I did a hair and makeup trial, had lunch, had dinner, chilled out at the sugar reef bar, had a couples massage, and dinner. The next day we went for a swim, took a trip to the flea market nearby, did our engagement photos, had breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You have to be good at planning, and rolling with the punches though (which I am bad at). I got the coordinator and the vendors together through my Travel agent (i had her do it instead of me, because she always gets good responses... So I definately suggest getting a travel agent, which our host Tammy, and a bunch of others on here are great ones I hear!) We met at 10, and we were supposed to do our engagement shoot at 10 the next day, but it got moved to five (that's the rolling with the punches), but we got an extra day out of it at no cost to us! Also, we saw different room categories and took lots of pics in those 2 days. I plan on getting a hard carryon and packing the centerpieces with bubble wrap. FI will take it on when I take on my dress. Wish me luck with that one :-/ Have lots of fun!

I just went as most of you know and FI's family is all about what other people think. They think their guests are very opinionated and they said the only thing they think people will complain about is how small the pool is. And the only thing I'm worried about is the graffiti on the rocks. Other than that, I really think all of our guests will enjoy hanging out and sipping margaritas.
