I had Amy Michelson replica wedding gowns made for my TTD, but right after I found a dress very similar to mine at Filene's running of the brides event that fit me like a glove with no alterations. So, since the custom made ones needed some altering, I figured I'd save the money and try to sell these. They are very close to the original, which is why I chose Gianinar to make them. The only thing that seems to be off is the fabric. I am sure that the original is made of Silk Charmeuse, but Gianinar only had satins. I had them make one gown with one type of satin (soft matte), and then they offered to make the second one with another sort of satin (shiny) for a little bit more $$. Together, I paid about $200 for both. I'd sell each for $90 or both for $180 plus shipping, or best offer. These would make great TTD dresses! Below are the descriptions.... Good Luck! Amy Michelson replicas made in two different fabrics, a Matte Satin and a Shiny Satin. These are the measurements they were made to. Bust - 35.5 inches Waist - 27.5 inches Hips - 37.5 inches. My normal street size is six, and I am between 5'9" and 5'10" Both dresses seem bit big in the bust (more so in the Shiny Satin), and as I have a very small bust (between A and B cup) that might work out better for most women. The waist was a little big in both dresses (my waist is also kind of small for my hips, so again, this might be a benefit to more proportional women). The hips were snug in the Matte Satin dress and perfect in the Shiny Satin dress. I believe the Shiny Satin dress had a bit more give. I had the neckline lowered a bit in the Matte Satin dress, but not in the Shiny Satin dress. Both dresses have buttons down the back all the way through the train and have bustles. I will put pictures of the actual dress, the Matte, and the Shiny Dress. I only tried on the Matte Satin for pictures because I was running out of time when I took them. Since the are pretty much the same dress, I decided to just put up the pics that Gianinar sent me of the Shiny Satin.

she just emailed me this week! But didn't answer my questions, lol. I asked for her information on butterfly releases and asked her if she uses Liberacion de mariposas and if so would she give them a call (I gave her the number). Then I asked her how much DJ Mannia and the dance floor would be for us total and separate (we may just do the dance floor and go with our ipod). She sent back that her butterfly people when out of business and I could use mine and that she would use them in the future if it turned out well for me (so I guess I'm doing that myself) and she commented that the dance floor is nice (no price). Ahhhhh! She always does that. You would think that if you respond to someone only once every few months, you would make it worth the wait by answering the persons questions. She cracks me up, but she was awesome to work with in person at my site visit, so no worries! Also, does anyone else know the size of the dance floor? We are taking dance lessons in March and our instructor wants to know the amount of space he has to work with when he choreographs the dance. I'm looking for the dimensions. Updates! I am in such a lazy rut right now. I'm on call with three different jobs and whenever I try to plan a day to start my invites, order favors, OOT bags, etc, I get called in! I need the money, but I really need to get on the ball. Also, pretty much everyone on his side has booked, including friends. Not one of my side has book except for my dad. Not even my maids (well, except for the one who is dating the best man, since they booked together, and FI's sister, but still, that's his side). My maids have been promising for months, and I'm afraid that all the good direct flights will be sold out. I know, I know.... be patient! My cousin came with to shop for BM dresses, but then never ordered hers and I had to authorize the mass order without hers or else everyone else that paid for theirs wouldn't get it in time (and I'm not going to buy a dress for someone I'm not even sure is coming). Then she fell off the face of the planet and didn't return my calls or messages for over a month, AND skipped out on any holiday family gathering where I planned to ask her. Then out of nowhere, calls me last week saying she's booking when her taxes come in. I have no idea what to do for a dress with her and quite frankly, I still think in the back of my mind that she'll wiggle out of it again. I just want her to be honest with me, but I think she's not even being honest with herself. She wants to go so badly, but then feels guilty when she realizes how hard it is going to be. She doesn't even have a phone right now (hence the not calling me... she has to borrow her friends phone). It's funny though, because all of this doesn't seem to bother me as much as it used to. I realized I can't control any of this (except for making the invites and swag). I just keep counting down to the day (less than 6 months!) I keep reading about all of your weddings coming up and can't wait to see some reviews! Rachel, are you super stoked yet!?!?! P.S. I got legally (and Catholic) married last week. Shhhhhhh!

Hi everyone! It's been so long, but I was finishing up my Master's! So glad that's done, now I can't get back on the ball. Planning on making my invites and sending them out in January. (Boarding passes). Update on my checklist... I think about 19 are booked, my bridesmaids have ordered their dresses (but only 1 has booked so far.... ahhhh!). I bought their parasols too! My dress came in to the bridal shop in November, but I never got to try it on because the shop burned down, so now it's scheduled to be remade by the end of Feb (keep your fingers crossed!). The dresses I've seen on here since the last time are AMAZING!!! And I really like the engagement photos... so cute! Guys we have less than six months! I can't wait! Anyone going to be at Dreams Cancun between June 15 - 29? Happy New Years Eve!

Terilina! They did not charge extra for the second dress, but they did charge me extra if I wanted BOTH dresses shipped to me. They said about 10 days, but I think it was a few days more or less ( but I can't remember... lol). I do think that dress choice is amazing! So unique. and even if not the material you wanted, they definitely stayed true to the style. Sorry it took me a few days to get back to you. So busy!!!

I need some help! I thought I asked this before, but the search turned up nothing. What straightener did you ladies bring with you to Dreams? I went on my site visit last year, and my CHI did not work at Dreams. It did, however, work at my fiance's family's timeshare resort, The Royal Sands, just 5 mins down the hotel zone. I am looking for a professional grade straightener that will work (not Conair or Hot tools). I don't know why the CHI would work at one place in Cancun, but not another. And I don't think it's Dreams wiring, because my hair dryer worked at Dreams. I don't want to rely on a converter, because I have heard that they don't work well with flat irons. So, just asking if any of your flat irons worked down there.

Yes that was where I ordered it. They were great and according to the news all but 2 girls got their dresses in time for the immediate weddings. Everyone one else was far enough off that they can try to do something. Even my dress was discontinued already (ordered it so long ago - the day before Valentines Day), but they have such a long standing relationship with the manufacturers/designers, that they were able to work it out. The owner even gave me a hug!

Mimi, that is a gorgeous dress... so delicate! TLGnhci http://www.gianinar.com/ I just did a search, I can't remember if that was the same name of the place I went, but [email protected] is the email I contacted.

Alright ladies! It's taken me a while, but I finally finished student teaching, so I can post my dress. Here is the original (an amy michelson ... called "Diamond") uii As some may remember, they sent me pics and I made changes. The dress all in all looked great, but the fabric looked a bit different. So gianinar (totally misspelling it) actually remade the whole dress for me in a different fabric. I actually bought them both but only paid shipping once because I wanted to see them both. I ended up liking the first one the best. The second bust is very big on me, and I have a very small chest (however, I used Nubra in the pics with me wearing the dress and they make me look substantially bigger :-D) Here are pics of the finished dresses and then of me wearing the first (they both are pretty much the same except the fabric, so I decided to save the pic space on here and just wear one). Both did not fit perfectly, and it's funny because even though the measurements are the same, each dress was loose and tight in different places (I'm assuming the fabric also played a part in that). matte satin dress with corrected neckline (deeper) Now in the soft and shiny satin. I decided to keep the first neckline on this one, in case the other one was too deep. As you can see the chest is bigger (even loose on the mannequin). I think this would look great on someone with a full B or a C cup. I'm a small B and might even be an A by now. (when you loose weight, the boobs are the first to go :-( but wait til you see me in the first dress with my Nubra... my chest looks a whole cup size bigger!) They seemed to make this bigger in my chest, and smaller in the hips, so it was more meant for a perfect hour glass shape, where as I am definitely smallest in the middle, I am also smaller on top than on bottom and not really equal. I barely squeezed my self in there on the bottom and had to hold the top in certain pics. haha! But as you see, with some altering, it's definitely very similar. Those were the back,, button/train, side, front, and bustle views I went to this discount bridal sale however, and found a very cheap dress close to my actual dress that I am going to wear as my TTD, so I think I'm going to try to see if these dresses could make another lucky bride happy! My dress is all lace, and I thought I'd like to try something different for the TTD, but when I saw this other lace one, I realized I wanted my actual and TTD pics to be close. my dress (well, this is the sample, mine actually just came in a few weeks ago but I never got to see it because the shop burned down, but they were amazing and reordered my dress so hopefully I will see it soon!) and this is the one that I happened upon that is more similar to my dress. Actually, this one is also too pretty to put in the water.. LOL How did I manage to become a FOUR dress bride?!?! So, all in all, Gianinar was great! Great communication, great accomadation, great price. Just ended up finding something different!

Thank you for your kind words! I don't know if I'm the only one on here, but I do know that at least one or two girls did not get their dresses by the big day! I feel so awful for them. I hope something worked out. I made a Christmas wish on Lite FM that any girls who did not get their dress get a gift from them. This radio station grants all these wonderful wishes during the holidays! It always makes me cry!

Alright, here is the number you can call to get a list of authorized donor sites. 630-747-1911 Update... Eva's is working so hard to help all of their brides. Dress designer manufacturers have replicated and Fedexed all but two (according to a news report my future FIL saw) brides' dresses for this and upcoming weekend weddings. I went to see them yesterday at one of their temp locations (they were in the dining room of Palermos Pizza) and they were amazing. The owner Ronia gave me a hug and they were all so friendly. My dress is discontinued, but Maggie Sottero (Sottero & Midgley) had a size 6 on hand. They asked if it was ok. It was a size under mine, and I'm starting to gain back the weight I lost while stressed in school. They took one look at my face and called the designer to ask if it was possible at all to make another in my size. The designer said they would make it and rush it to them by the end of February (even though it was discontinued!). They let me speak to the Maggie Sottero representative on the phone so I could personally say thank you. While I was talking to the ladies, I could hear one on the phone trying to get a dress for a bride whose wedding is this weekend. Her size is unique and they have called so many designers and bridal shops. I hope they can do it, God knows they are trying. The only thing I am scared of is that my dress won't be perfect. It took longer than usual to make my dress (8 1/2 months) and now they are going to make it in 3 months. I told them no need to rush because my wedding is in June, but they assured me that they do rushes all the time and the designer is very reputable. To be honest, I want it early anyway in case something goes wrong. But what if they don't have the fabric used to make my dress anymore and they have to improvise? Hilariously, I found out the dress was discontinued Nov 13th... just four days before the fire!

(I did a full forum search and found nothing... so here goes...) Ladies, I swear I came on today with all intentions of posting great news! After months, my student teaching and therefore graduate school is completed, and I will have more time to come and chat with you all. However, I have another damper in my quest to get married. My bridesmaid texted me today... "Where did you buy your gown again?" After I texted her back with my bridal shop, she called right away to tell me the news. Yesterday... Wednesday November 17th, 2010, Eva's Bridal of Oak Lawn burned down. My dress just came in two weeks prior, so it is now ashes. My wedding dress, a gorgeous lace Sottero & Midgely, that I couldn't try on as soon as it came in (because I was working crazy hours at the school I student teach at), I will now never get to try on. And worst of all, I checked the Sottero & Midgley website to see it's style number, and it's gone. After months of always checking it and showing it to my friends, it is nowhere to be found, which probably means it's discontinued. So, I don't know if I will ever have my dream dress. :-( I'm devastated... But, even worse, there are brides getting married tomorrow, and Saturday and Sunday. Maybe even tonight or yesterday. These women are going to have no chance to walk down the aisle in the dress of their dreams, and my heart breaks for them. I know people are setting up donation stations for people to donate wedding gowns for these unfortunate brides, but still... how would you feel, wearing someone else's dress that might not even fit right? I know there are worse things in the world right now, like our soldiers stuck in the middle east and hunger, but I can't help but feel pain. If any of you are Eva's Bridal customers, and your dresses were in the store, please call the hotline number for instructions on what to do next. The hotline number 630-747-1911 and the website is http://www.evasbridalsofoaklawn.com/ Also, they would like you to email them with you dress info (designer, style #, size, color) so they have a hard copy of your dress info. They really want to make us their # 1 priority... which is great. When I find out places you can donate dresses to, I will let you guys know. I know some of you have TTD's or second dresses that you are having a hard time selling, so maybe you are ok with donating them to these brides who have weddings in the near future. I thank the lord that my wedding is at least a while away. Although my dress took over 8 months to make and my wedding is in exactly 7 months to the day away. Thank you all for letting me vent. Please spread the word in you live in the chicago area and know any brides that might have ordered from them.... I live nearby and didn't even know. The email to reach them is [email protected] God Bless, Chris

I know it's different for everyone, but all I got for not doing photography was the option for extra videography services (which I took) or $300 credit. They wouldn't give me more people though. But that credit could go toward a restaurant like previously suggested. My goodness I haven't been on in over a week and look what happens! Weddings everywhere!!! Apparently a new review section too! Ahhhhh changes! Well, congrats to all my fellow desties who became wives this past week or so, and to all who are getting ready to leave! Such breathtaking pics and meldal, I love the hair! Which extensions were they? It's my birthday this Monday and maybe I can get some hair for a gift! My maids just flew in from Alaska for a visit, so I'm taking advantage of it to get them all into dresses to figure their styles out. And then I finish student teaching in a week, which means I will be back here more often. Legal wedding in Jan and then the finishing touches on the plans for JUNE 18 2011!!!! Can't wait!

Why rent when you can own? I just went on to JC Penneys and first I found some Stafford tux pieces on sale (1 button jacket originally $180, ON SALE for $80, and pants for $34.99). Then, I went to the clearance section and found more deals (Imperial brand tux jacket on clearance for $50 and pants for $15.99) Last, there was a Stafford 3 button jacket on clearance for $21.99! We bought the 21.99 stafford 3 button and the stafford sale pants for 34.99 (because the 15.99 were too long for my short FI). The whole tux (jacket and pants) was under $70 after tax and shipping to the store. Just wanted to let you ladies know who are going the tux route (we are for our small intimate catholic wedding at home before our destie)!

(edit fix) knew... there. I hate that I can't edit. I need to capitalize, get rid of double words, spell correct! It is driving me nuts! And I graduate as a teacher in a few months! Don't judge please, I don't pay attention too much about grammar at the forum. Sometimes I get overly excited and type too fast. Used to be able to post edit. Gahhhhh!
