peterpanpixiedust replied to peterpanpixiedust's topic in Just venting or funnies
trying the facebook event link again.. apparently it's no longer working. hmmmm http://www.facebook.com/events/263815693665556/ don't worry, the hyundai link still works (the first post) and that's the most important.. the facebook link is just an easy way to click on the hyundai page every day. lets see if this works. Btw, thank you so much for voting already! I vote every day! i even go to the local starbucks and vote there because each network can vote once per day! Here's hoping! -
Newlywed asking for some help from you all

http://www.facebook.com/events/263815693665556/ Here's a link to the event I created on facebook. It might be easier to find the link each day if you add the event then to find this thread everyday. No pressure, if you don't want to vote, I totally understand. There are thousands of people on here asking for others to vote for things. -
Hi all. I haven't been on in so long. Things have been crazy for do long. Shortly after we got married this summer, my hubby and i were on a mini vacay. He's a manager and got called to cover his store late the first night of our trip. It was a three hour drive and needless to say this was an unexpected drive and he was tired. He fell asleep at the wheel and i got the the call every wife dreads at two in the morning. Luckily he only suffered minor injuries and a concussion and after several follow up apppintments he's as good as gold. My car sadly was totaled. It cost me 7 grand to finance my replacement car after my insurance covered their end. I got my new car last month and we were finally getting back on track. Well last friday my new car got stolen right out of my own parking lot. We are so drained in every aspect of the word. However, i found a ray of light! My car dealership is offering an essay contest to win a new car. We had planned on replacing his car after the wedding but now can't due to our unforseen expenses (sometimes his car acts up and won't even start when it gets too cold). People can vote for us once a day until the 11th of december. So, if you'd like to help us, i am providing the link to our submission. Thank you all you wonderful ladies and gents and i will keep you in my prayers as well. Http://familyhelpingfamily.com/2011/11/chris-m-2/

Thinking about Jamaica!!
peterpanpixiedust replied to Gin Bootles's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Congrats newbie! I don't know if you know this but I saw you get engaged after my destination wedding at Dreams Cancun. I'm not sure, but I think you and your boyfriend might have crashed our wedding also, because you guys are all over the video and our pictures. LOL! But seriously! Hey girl! I love that you were at our wedding and now BDW is your new addiction.... yay! I hear if you want the most bang for you buck you stay away from Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, and Tahiti.... just a thought. Tulum should have awesome deals tho! Like I said before, let me know if you want any of my stuff (centerpieces, chair sashes, not my Swarovski flutes... or as you say Savorski! LOL).. Miss you crazy kids! -
Hi ladies, I babysit for a girl who is moving across the country. They have to leave their house unsold and continue to pay mortgage while renting a place in their new home. She's trying to make her packing lighter and possible make a come across some funds in the process. I offered to put her items up for sale here. If you are interested, pm me and if you choose to buy, I'll send you her pay pal. There are three dresses, two of them are formal and only worn a couple of times (may work for bridesmaid dresses or mother of the bride). The other dress is a flowy little number that is brand new with tags. Both the formal dresses show very slight markings that will probably go away with dry cleaning. They are not in very obvious spots either. These are the black and red dresses. The black on has a brooch that has one stone discolored. Very hard to see, and I took a close up and it's on the left side, second stone from the big center one. Both are size four. She is asking for $75 obo for the black and $60 obo for the red (half the price she paid). The flowy pink dress is a size 14 by Ashley Stuart. It was intended as a gift but she never got to travel to give the gift (friend lives overseas). As I stated previously, it's brand new with tags and was purchased for $50. She's asking $40 obo. This one would be a cute honeymoon dress! I will add pics in a few because it's not letting me right now, any advice... the "add photos" isn't click able. If you are interested before pics come, pm me and I'll email them to you. Also, I'm sure the prices are easily negotiable!

I hired some resort photographers at the end of my stay for a back up trash the dress (a storm invaded our original). and Antonio did my pics. There is also a Daniel, and two others that I met (one boy and one girl). I must say, Antonio did a great job, even with all the scared talk of switching photographers. I still love Juan tho. My highlight is up. By Mike Cantarell of Cancunweddingvideos.com (he used to be, and still should be IMO Dreams' videographer). Review will come... i promise, but no time as of now... Apartment move, 2 at home receptions, applying for jobs, work, blah blah blah p.s. for those of you who know the story, the elusive starfish makes his appearance on here, along with mine lol I'd love feedback

I got the ultimate. But I used the videographer they had then but he works on his own. He had his own prices for the extras. Dreams has their own corporate videographer now so I don't know what the upgrades are anymore. I just added another hour ($250, but he gave me two), blue ray ($300), and a highlight video ($350).

I will say this does kind of depress me a bit. I haven't had a chance to do my review yet, and everything was great, but there were those "extras" I never seemed to encounter. We left what in my opinion was a good tip. We left $50 last year at our site visit, and $200 this year (most people said they left between $100-$150), and it was really hard to part with it, because after $500 in extra luggage, we were broke. Well, aside from what we agreed on earlier, no extras. Not only that, I had specifically asked for rose petals to be put into little organza bags for our petal toss at the recession, and she put my own fake ones in the bag that I had given her for the centerpieces. I didn't find out until later, or else I would have confronted her during the reception. But I was wondering why they blew away when people tossed them ( i mean, it was a windy day, but real petals would have had a better chance). I'm not just mad about the fact that I had rose petals in my contract and she used my own, but that she used fake petals that littered the environment. They aren't supposed to do that. But back to the extras. We had a bose sound dock, but because it started raining, we opted to extend our 1 hr of free sound (we had at our reception) to the rest of the night, and we tipped the sound guys, and I thought for sure she might let us have it, but nope, the next day we had a charge. I know some people got a dj instead of their Bose, or at least a sound system. I would have been happy with my Bose, but didn't want to chance it with the rain. And they kept replaying the same songs at our dinner, and I gave them a huge selection. Well, at least they did a great job at the reception! And I did have the wedding of my dreams, and Claudia did deserve the tip due to all the times I called. But still, I thought since we paid for everything (dance floor, extra champagne for extra ppl, upgrades for videographer) we would have gotten at least one of the extras talked about. Oh well, maybe she thought we were rich and didn't deserve it. We aren't, we just had over a year to plan and I saved up for two, and paid for pretty much everything ourselves out of pocket. Either way, we still had the best time (tropical storm and all!) I promise when I'm finally moved in I will write a review! Congrats on the ones leaving this week, and the newbies, and the newlyweds! For all you inbetweeners... hang in there!

Starfish Passing Thread
peterpanpixiedust replied to becks's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
ooh, correction.. One for October and one for April. As long as they still want to be a part of it! It is a clear starfish (actually, he has a brother that I'm keeping in case he gets lost). He's a bit smaller than the blue guy. But very cute!!! I'd like to keep it to one bride per month...so each girl isn't rushed. But will take into consideration the dates. -

After that ordeal, I may already be gray! Haha, not sure cause I'm afraid to check! I also am going to take this chance to remention that I have my own little guy up for passing. Two brides have already asked me to use him (I think one for april and the other is september). I am going to do the same as JanineA. I will pass him for a year. I only ask two things. I want each brides address before hand (in case someone doesn't get ahold of another, then I have addresses as back up) and that everyone sends a picture to me afterwards so I can paste in in the journal. I don't think that's too much to ask, because after checking JanineA's, she's done the same (reserved a space for a pic after each bride). Thanks ladies... I will make an official list as soon as I can! -

Hi ladies! After a crazy trip the starfish and I finally made it home. I will be sending off the starfish to Sorod today or tomorrow. As long as I have her addey. I'm sure it's in a pm, but if it isn't I will pm her again. The starfish almost went MIA!!!!! We had a tropical storm during our stay and the day of the wedding was so stormy (luckily the rain passed by the time of the ceremony, but the wind was horrible still). Well, my bouquet got turned over with the horrible wind and the starfish fell out without my knowing until our butterfly release later. We searched for two days in the rocks by the lighthouse and the shore... but pretty much figured the wind (that continued the whole trip) or tide washed the little guy away. I was devastated and was already about to purchase a new guy (although it would never be the same). Well, on my last day of searching, my flip flops broke (very jagged rocks) and my hubby continued the search while I went back to change shoes (he's so amazing to realize how important this was to me). Well, as a side note, I've been a pretty nice bride to everyone, but holding all that stress in for the sake of composure has led me to treat my hubby not so great during the whole planning process. So while he was searching, he prayed to God asking if for once, he could be my hero (which by the way broke my heart and made me realize how unfair I had been to him these last few weeks), and five minutes later he brushed the little guy with his foot!!!! Praise the lord, he helped my baby find our starfish and he truly was my hero! It was so crazy, the starfish was face down where you had no chance of seeing any sparkle and in a deep crevice in the rocks. And it was in perfect condition! The lord really does work in mysterious ways! You all will see this story in the journal, but I have such terrible handwriting that I'd thought I'd share it here! -
So sorry i have not been on, but I can rant about why later. I never got to say I'M LEAVING!!!! due to too much going on. But, WE'RE IN CANCUN!!! A short pit stop at Moon Palace today to pick up the passing starfish from a fellow destie and then on to Dreams tomorrow! Will try to do a planning thread tonight (better late than never right?!?!) congrats on all the new Mrs's!

5 Travel Tips for your honeymoon
peterpanpixiedust replied to TammyWright's topic in Travel & Honeymoon Articles
As for # five also applying to the groom. I somehow don't think the groom upon loosing his attire would over-analyze the situation and determine that we were never meant to be. He would take it as a sign that he was meant to wear his favorite worn out tee shirt and jeans...lol! Why can't we be like men sometimes?!?! -

Alright, my starfish came in the mail today! I'm excited to participate in JanineA's and also start my own. Mine is clear. I think Joanne Ireland wanted to be added for November. What I'm going to do is have one girl for every month. And I would like every girl's address and email/phone. This way, we have back up info in case a girl doesn't come on in a while. I am going to try to go for a year from when he starts traveling, so he can end up with me again by our anniversary. PM me with your dates of travel if you are interested! I'm so excited!
