My FI will be having a talk with someone at the resort when we arrive. So...I'll keep you ladies posted. We have a final total of 135 nights booked which is AWESOME. I can't wait to spend time with 84 of our family and friends who will most likely never be in the same place together ever again. This time tomorrow I will be on a plane headed to Mexico! So exciting!! I cant believe how many room nights you have booked!! Thats awesome! Hope everything turns out well (which Im sure it will!). Cant wait to see pics and read your review Definitely let us know how the DJ worked out. Im very curious to know.

Thank you ladies for all your input!! Im considering heavily doing the legal stuff before going to Mexico. Im just a little worried that being legally married will take away from the ceremony. Ive heard lots of brides say it doesnt take away from Mexico, but it still worries me. Atleast I still have about 5 months to make a decision.

Are you going to have a real judge down there? Are you signing fake papers or the ones you're getting from your town City Hall? From what I hear, its hard to tell the difference between a civil ceremony and a symbolic ceremony. I believe everything is still the same except for the fingerprinting. If you dont tell any of your guests that you were married prior to coming to Mexico, they wont figure it out. I dont think there will be need to sign any paperwork to make it look "real".

Hi, for those ladies who have gotten married already, I just sent a deposit, only to find after the fact that when Fernando said that he has no other weddings that day that I misunderstood and infact, he has already booked another one some time ago. Now my ceremony is at 2 pm, the other lady is on this forum and her ceremony is at 3:30. Mine is at Secrets Maroma and hers is at The Royal, PDC. We are both freaking out, I called him and he had indicated that this Saturday he has 3 and that this is typical. I just don’t know what to do, I thought I would splurge as hair is super important to me and now I am worried its going to be a rush job for multiple of what I would have paid else where. Yikes this is just too stressful. Thanks for all your input. I just spoke to Fernando the other day and I had the same issue. Fernando felt really bad for having another wedding to attend to so he recommended his teacher to do my make-up instead. He assured me I wont be disappointed. Im scheduling a trial for the day before so I could have professional make-up and hair done for my welcome party. If it doesnt work out, then I will be out $150 and will just use the resorts salon for hair and make up.

Just curious, is anyone planning on getting legally married before heading out to Mexico?

The pricelist J&S sent me was defintely more than $250 for the docking station. Was that the original price he quoted you? Im just curious because my WC quoted me one price then J&S sent me another one completely different and I dont know whats the actual cost anymore. Thanks!

This is a huge decision and its always helpful to hear how other people handled it.

I posted pics of my OOT bags here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ictures-59940/ WOW!!!! They came out great!!! I could only wish mines came out like that. Only a few weeks left..time flies! I cant wait to hear your review of MP and see lots of pics. Good luck getting everything there. I would love to hear how you managed travelling with everything.

I told Dulce that no one knew we were doing a symbolic ceremony instead of a civil ceremony. Everything was perfect. Just an FYI: if you get married first and do a symbolice ceremony in Mexico Dulce needs a copy of your marriage certificate. It is a huge hassle to get everything in order before getting married in Mexico. That's why Ive been contemplating getting married before going. How do you feel about having two different wedding dates? Are you going to be celebrating 2 anniversaries?

Dulce only recommended J&S to me. The boss was the one who I was talking to. He was very quick in responding to my every email. Im not sure about stages, you may have to go through someone else for that. I know he provides a projector and screen for extra $. I will email you the packages he sent me.

After complaining about his steep price, he lowered it about 50%, but its still pricey. I feel like its still steep bc there is a local DJ (that is on the forum) who charges less and offers more for his services. The resort DJ is definitely willing to work with you, but I feel like renting the equipment and using your IPOD is better. From what I hear its almost like having a DJ anyways bc they have someone man the station for you.

We had our ceremony at the Coba gazebo. I like the surroundings better then the other gazebo, it was just beautiful. I had planned to have my cocktail hour on the pandero terrace until the day before the wedding. I changed it to the maraca terrace because it was just too hot to stand outside without some shade. I didn't want my guests or the food to melt. The cove side was much more quite in general then the spa side so I was very happy to have chosen all my events on that side. And then dinner at the cove terrace. I loved all the locations! Jackie, were your guests able to see you arrive on the horse and carriage? Ive heard that one gazebo makes it difficult for them to see you because of where it stops. Also, did you choose a package, if so, did the table decorations come with the package? Thanks!

The white linen is free and the colored linen was only about $12/table...which for me was worth it not to have 10 table cloths I'll never use again. Im going to have to ask Dulce about that. For some reason I thought I heard they were way more than $12/table. If thats the case I will definitely go with the resort. Its true, Im never gonna use them again. LOL Thanks!!

Wish this was an easier one since we love the chapel so much. I feel like you've already made the date final since you sent out the STD's. But, you know your guests more than we do. If you dont plan on having a lot of people come and you feel like your guests will be cool with the date change, then change the date. If youre unsure, you may just have to give up the chapel or have an early ceremony and a late reception.
