Great review! Thank you so much Suzy for putting my concerns to rest. One question I just thought of, you had mentioned speeches; is there an area in the Thai Beach Club where speeches can be made (ie mics)? Also, is there an area for dancing/DJ? You and your hubby look so happy, best wishes always!

I bought mine for $5 off Etsy (seller digitalbunnysdesigns). She was great to work with, and will work with you until you are completely happy. -

Just wondering if anyone experienced this, what was done about it, etc. Otherwise, this place seems to have everything we want! Look forward to hearing from you... Thanks! It's basically like every other resort. You have to be smart. Look at the safe; if it is scratched, or the labels peeled back, don't use it. Lock everything in your suitcases with your own locks, and you will be fine. I've heard of people accidentally leaving hundreds of dollars out, and nothing was taken. I'm getting married there in December, and so far have heard nothing but great things about the resort! If you would like some information I've received from the resort with wedding packages, cakes, flowers, the spa, just PM me with your email address and I can send you what I have. Happy planning!

We paid for the same but had also paid for the change to a Laguna Villa the day of our wedding - which they gave to us a day early. I absolutly loved this upgrade, we both did. The room was beautiful, private pool with beds, bar, concierge etc. However not so sure we would have taken full advantage of it if our guests had still been there. We also went with the Private Thai Beach for our reception.....another great choice. Although it is pricey and I was back and forth on it right up until the end. I am so glad we did it, what beautiful spot......totally worth it! Please let me know if you have any questions Congrats!!! I'm so glad it was amazing! That's great they upgraded your guests! Did you request upgrades for your guests before you left?

I am still trying to decide between flats/flipflops or wedges. Well my dress came in yesterday (yay ), but when I tried it on it was quite big on me. I only ordered it a month and half ago and have lost like 2 lbs. The size I had tried on in the stores was the size that I order because it fit like a glove. I just ordered it in a petite instead since I am short. Luckily DB remember this, so they are reordering my gown in one size down (while holding my original one, in case one size down is too small). But now I have to wait until July Thank you! Aw, well at least DB remembered that! Could have been a nightmare! July isn't too far away...

When you want to upload a pic, another bride told me about tinypic.com. You just go to the site, upload your pic and copy the code for discussion boards. Hopes this helps! Thanks! Yup, I am going to go barefoot during the ceremony, and wear those after and at the reception. I'm always barefoot or wearing flip flops so it works for me! Ooooh your headpiece is gorgeous! Love it! Thanks for the tip about the photos, I'll try that

Hi girls. Just wondering what you all are doing for your honeymoon. Are you staying at the resort, or going to a new one? We just got a quote to stay an extra week and per person it is $1250! That seems high to me considering we are getting married there and bringing in a lot of money for the resort. Does this seem right? I thought there might have been a honeymooner's deal or something...

So instead I might fill the mug with a few little things like pack of gum, welcome letter, a magnet, etc. My mom also knows someone who makes candles so she already ordered some travel candles from her so each room can have a good smelling candle!I think I am going to do the maracas too (bought in playa); they are a cool Mexican thing to add to the wedding, and one less thing for us to pack since you can get them down there. I agree, we were initially going to do OOT bags, but have since decided against them. I think that is a great idea to put the welcome letter and a few things in the mug! Genius! Have you bought your mugs yet? I've looked at a few sites, and discountmugs.com so far looks reasonable.

And it's tough to find one that you think will please everyone, and yourselves too! When I first started planning I totally fell in love with the Dreams resorts, but it really did seem like a "dream" to me to have my wedding there... too pricey for us and for our guests. Then we started looking at the Dominican Republic and the Dreams resorts there were much more reasonably priced, as were the costs for the weddings so I was thinking a Dreams wedding might be possible for me after all. But when it actually got close enough that we could start checking prices and availability, etc, our TA advised that flights to the Dominican were a mess (multiple stops, long layovers) and that although not all flights would be like this, there were no guarantees. And we couldn't do this to our guests. Total bummer. She suggested we have a look at Dreams Riviera Cancun, brand spanking new and offering great introductory rates, free kids, and awesome group perks and freebies. We looked at the photos and initial reviews and were sold! We changed all our plans, booked our date, and had everyone start putting down deposits on rooms right away. So my dream wedding gets to come true after all - so cool the way things work out sometimes!!! Aw that's great! I'm a firm believer in everything happens for a reason and fate - sounds like it was just meant to be! On another note...what are you all doing for favors? We are thinking of doing drinking mugs for everyone in a bright color. We thought since some guests won't know each other, this would be a good way for guests to "see" who is there for our wedding. I also want to do palm fans to put on each guests seat at the ceremony. Then again I also really like the idea of macaranas (to be bought in Playa)...

I can't figure out how to quote a message in my reply? LOL Jen - we got a great group rate through my travel agent, so had sort of an early bird deal, and so far have about 35 people booked. I think between now and December we will get more slowly booking. A lot of our guests can't commit this far in advance due to work, school, etc. Are you working with a travel agent/wedding planner?
