  1. I love the look of shorts, with a nice linen or cotton dress shirt and sandals. I just saw pictures last night from a wedding where they wore shorts, cotton dress shirt with short sleeves, and a skinny tie, it looked really good! FI is going to go shopping with his groomsmen on Friday, and I just found these shorts from Banana Republic on sale  http://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=12640&vid=1&pid=729514&scid=729514002 Â
  2. Hi Michelle! We are getting married on the beach, and it doesn't cost extra. However, if you want arches or anything like that, it does. I've attached a pdf of the costs of the arches. Here is a picture of the ceremony location on the beach. I believe the chair sashes that come standard are white, it costs extra for different colours. Â Wedding locations.pdf
  3. Ooooh I saw your pictures on her blog not too long ago, and love them! You were such a beautiful bride! Congratulations!
  4. Both dresses are gorgeous, and look great on you! But I'm a firm believer in going with the dress that you absolutely love! Don't get the dress to please your mother, it is your day, and you have to feel beautiful in the dress. Good luck! Â
  5. Ohhhh nice! I love Mori Less dresses! And royal blue will look so pretty!
  6. Thanks! We bought it at Lisa's Bridal in New Westminster. It's from the 2011 Venus collection (Bella Maids). I honestly didn't think it would be that easy...it was our first time going shopping! Â Oh yay, that's great you are getting close to ordering them! What colour are you going with?
  7. Oooooh, I hope they have the same deal at Canadian stores! Thanks for the heads up
  8. Just bought this dress last night for my three BM's. The cell phone pictures don't do it justice, it is a coral colour, and not as shiny. It is from the 2011 collection of Venus (Bella Maids), not sure of the style number, but the colour is "watermelon".
  9. Squeeee! It is coming up so fast! I'm with you Angela...super excited, but stressed over how much I have left to do, and how the heck we are going to pay for it?! Â On the bright side, last night we found and ordered the bridesmaid dresses! Soooo excited, and I (as well as the bridesmaids) love the dress! It is exactly what we had wanted to find. The lady at the store was like "ooooh, you came in just in the nick of time!". These pictures don't do it justice, they are a coral colour, and not as shiny... Â Also, just placed the order for the BM bouquets, hair flower for the groomswoman, and corsages for the mom's. Now all my flowers are ordered, yay! Â How is everyone else doing planning wise? I must admit, I haven't even started really thinking about our at home reception planned for the end of January/beginning of February...eeek!
  10. I'm not sure of the style number of my dress, but this is mine...in ivory.
  11. Thanks for that link! How long was the ceremony? I'm hoping it won't be more than 20 minutes, so we can get some shots in before the sun sets. Good to know about plan B in case it rains I'm sure our guests wouldn't mind being so close the the bar! Ha ha.
  12. Oh wow, that's a great idea! Thank you! BTW - you were such a beautiful bride! Your pictures are stunning!
  13. Hi Jen, We are getting married December 16, 2010. Patricia has been dealing with our travel agent with the contract, and had sent her one for us to sign today regarding the type of ceremony, reception options, etc. I know, they don't seem too flexible... Well I'm not sure if we will use the 20 person a la carte option for our welcome dinner because we have approximately 45 people coming, so I'd have to pay an additional $10 per person over the 20 person limit. I'm thinking I'll just arrange for our guests to meet in the Lobby Bar for welcome cocktails I've heard good things about all the a la cartes though...so I guess it's really just a matter of food preference for your reception
  14. Just finalizing our contract with Patricia today. Wondering if anyone has experience with a few questions I have: 1. I'm bringing my own bouquet, BM bouquets and bouts. Our package (Infinity/renewal of vows) includes the bride's bouquet and the groom's bout. I asked if we could replace those for 4 corsages and she said no. Does this seem silly to anyone? I'm wondering if I should just get the bride's bouquet and bout since they are included and then rip them apart and make my own corsages? 2. Our package includes a dinner reservation for 20 people in an a la carte restaurant. We are having the beach party, so wondering if I could use this for my welcome dinner? We will have approximately 45 people though, so I'm thinking I would most likely have to pay for the additional guests? I might just veto this and have our welcome dinner at the lobby bar or something so I don't have to pay extra... Any thoughts on the above would be greatly appreciated!
  15. Hello! I am getting married at the Grand Riviera Princess (the sister resort of the Grand Sunset Princess) as I'm sure you are aware since you were there We are getting married on the beach, and having a private beach party reception. I've attached a few pieces of information about the wedding packages and reception options Private Receptions.pdf Weddings Packages 2010.pdf

  17. I know, I'm thinking the same way as you. Although I caved and made our postcards on Vistaprint just the other day... Ha ha, oh my I could not imagine waiting until we were there to buy the BM dresses and ring! I'm majorly stressing out right now not having the BM dresses!!!
  18. Question for previous brides - what flavor of cake did you have? I seem to remember a few brides saying the smoothie milk cake was really good?
  19. Eeek - what does it cost to rent their audio equipment and play your own music? We were thinking of bringing ipods and going to Walmart or something in Playa and buying some good ipod speakers/deck...I think a previous bride did this and said it worked great.
  20. Yay for getting your dress! Isn't it the best feeling? I actually bought mine in February! I totally wasn't expecting to buy it that day, just go and look, but I fell in love with it, and it was on sale for 50% off! I take it out of my closet and look at it all the time. Ha ha.
