  1. I just finished my table numbers....I originally wanted to come up with something a little more...original lol..than just numbers, but I stumbled across the starfish frames and loved them! (I found the frames at Kohls, BTW...they have an actual sand texture and are super cute!) Found the numbers written in the sand on the internet, but they were darker and didn't look great with the light frames. So I adjusted the exposure, contrast, and color temperature in Picnik and think they turned out pretty well! Here they are, let me know what you think!
  2. Yay! Congrats...as I'm sure you already know this site is WONDERFUL!!
  3. yikes...I'm assuming you booked before it switched over to all-inclusive? The 5-course reception is free for me because all the guests are all-inclusive...They should let you cut some things out to reduce the price...doesn't seem fair!
  4. I asked for a quote for a "very basic cake...3 tiered, white cake, with our color (Tiffany blue) ribbon at the base of each tier, with bright orange and pink flowers going down the side. We can provide the ribbon and flowers"...for 40 guests. The response I got back was, "$380-$400" I then said, "Could you send me some pictures/examples of your cakes and prices? I was hoping to budget much less than that since it is such a simple, plain white cake with zero decoration. Thanks." Miss Myries response, "I dont use cake mix. And here prices are quite high. And my cakes are layered with filling instead of icing." I wrote back essentially saying I had budgeted a lot less for cake blah, blah, blah, and she suggested I order a cake for less people to cut the cost. So,there ya go... :-/ lol
  5. Thanks so much for the info! I'd LOVE to see more pics (esp. one of how they decorated the whole gazebo for $50) once you get them back if you'd be willing to share. The few that I've seen already have made me so excited for my own wedding...waiting so long is going to be torture! lol
  6. ACTUALLY you can chose a 9-day shipping option that brings it down to $6.92. Can't beat that!! Hopefully my FI will actually wear it lol
  7. Thanks for the tip!! Just so you girls know, I tried it out and it also works for T-shirts ($7 off). I ordered my FI a "Game Over" tshirt (I think these are so funny) with our wedding date...the Mens Tshirts are already on sale, and with the coupon code, the shirt costs 97 cents! (8.92 total with shipping). Happy shopping and thanks again for the great tip!!
  8. Lauren--everything looks SO good!! You must be thrilled!! A few questions from the pics you posted: -Did you bring your own tulle with you to decorate? (I see it on your knife, cake table, marriage cert table, sand ceremony table etc.) Did they set this all up for you? Same with the white fabric on the gazebo--did you bring it with you? -The signature drink=awesome! I've seen this in other MDC bride's pics, so I'm assuming they do this for all weddings for a post-vow toast? -Was the dance floor open and big enough for everyone? Did you bring the lanterns that are hanging? You must be soo excited to get your pro pics back since the ones your guests took are so awesome! Sorry to bombard you with questions but I'm so glad I have this forum to help with my planning
  9. ah I would love to buy the sashes...but I'll need more than 30 and would hate to chance not being able to find others that perfectly match them :-/
  10. Lauren---glad everything went so well!! I'm glad I know you used Miss Myrie...the pics she sent me off cakes to be honest did not look very good at all (lopsided, melty-looking) but yours is so cute!! If you don't mind me asking, how much did she charge you and how much did it feed? She quoted me like $400 for a plain white cake with no decoration, so I want to see what she actually charged you. Thanks and let us know when you get your pics...I would LOVE to see them!! CONGRATS!

Hope you have the same luck! Let us know how your invites turn out !
  12. LBCS--I can't wait to see pics/hear about your wedding!! The DJ (can't wait to hear about him too, hope he was good!) posted a couple pics on his facebook page from your wedding day...everything looks beautiful! Who did your cake, btw? I haven't found anyone reasonably priced that actually made a pretty cake...I want to go with whoever you used!! Hope your trip/honeymoon is going great, I'm sure you'll be pleased to find a list of questions to come back to :-) lol
  13. I got mine (along with word finds and crosswords) at Ollie's...79 cents a piece! Haven't been able to find anything to top that price yet :-)
  14. Just wanted to let you ladies know that I ordered the Oriental Trading large hibiscus bags...they are great for the price! They definitely won't last forever (they are like a woven polyester type bag), but they are cute vibrant beachy bags perfect for OOT bags! I would recommend them for anyone trying to stick to a strict budget :-)

  16. Congrats!! It must feel great to be done!!
  17. There's a clear starfish within that thread as well!!
  18. Wow that is NOT cool. I would scan your contract and see if it says anything about locking in prices. I know this isn't always the way, but once you put down your deposit, all prices should be locked in. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!
  19. Great planning thread!! You've thought of everything!! Good luck and have a great time :-)
