I've read so much on how they dont reply and then you get out there and sort it all out while your in resort so i'm sure it'll all work out fine!! Cant believe we have booked. I'm walking around telling everyone and anyone ha ha lol...I know what you mean, I find myself asking anyone "Are you going away this year?" Just so they will say "are you?"...hahahaha then I go into a whole story about my....oops 'our' wedding!!....haha. .... Really pleased for you Michelle, you are flying out 2 days before us & if you get your requested date you will be married one day before us!x

Also $190 per hour for the DJ.....however DJ Bijan from Mayan vibes has quoted me $150 per hour & I know a couple of brides from here who have had him on here & swankster is having him tomorow & they all say he is fantastic. Originally from New York so speaks english & Jazmin at Tulum has said it is ok that I book him so that is what I am going to do!!

As it was a promotion weekend i got 15% off too which was a bonus but it was really expensive and compared to some of the bargains the girls have got on this forum i was ripped off, ha ha. But i am over the moon with it. I love it! The dress is what its all about!! As long as your happy with it then sod the money!! I love your dress its fabulous!! I should start shopping for dresses, looked at tons online!! Just want to lose a bit more weight first!! Are any of you ladies doing a TTD? & if so have you brought a separate dress for this?

I am making a mini hangover kit (paracetomol, berroca, and a recipe for a banana smoothie) and then i've also got invites to the stag and hen night, a wedding day itinerary, a map of the resort, a welcome letter, and some colouring books and crayons for the kids. i am also going to get some insect repellent and i've made mini bottles of aloe vera with our wedding logo on them! they're so cute! i've got favours, i just bought them from cancer research and they are like little cards saying 'a donation has been made in your name to cancer research for Louise & Andy's wedding 30-7-2010' which is nice. i've also made fans for the ceremony (with an order of service and details of the wedding party on it) and i've made goodie bags for the kids at the table to keep them amused! i really want to buy some parasols, incase it's really really hot. but i can't find any cheap enough! any ideas?! I have to have my dress fittings soon! YAY! it'll need to be taken in 3 dress sizes! WOW 8 Weeks!! I can't imagine being so close!! I love the idea of the donation to cancer research, I might look into that. On the parasols....I was in China Town on Sunday & looked at the chinese style parasols, I am having fuschia pink bridesmaids & they had large ones for £10 & smaller for £5....I thought about getting them for my flower girls but as I am a year away decided to wait a while but they were really pretty & so cheap!! Well done on losing 3 dress sizes.....I am on the old diet now so hopefully I will be able to say the same in 10 months!! Do you have any pictures of your fans?

I think it's the luck of the draw really! There are pro's and con's to all of them... We are STILL waiting to book ......BOOOOOO!! But when we have i will contact the hotel direct to confirm our wedding date. I've already got it on hold so i just need to confirm. (once we know when we fly)! Kerry it is also my FI's 30th in July.... No party for him (he doesn't want the attention) so god knows what we will do.... I have his pressies though so thats one thing out the way ) I think your right it is the luck of the draw, Coop in eltham annoyed me so much that the area manager ended up booking for me with first choice!! I have just looked at your hotel is is stunning......I did make a compromise on my hotel, first I was going to Moon Palace but with the prices being dearer it mean't not so many people could come. We had a chat about it & decided it was more important to have the people we really wanted to come than have that hotel......however I wasn't going to compromise the wedding location & the Gran Bahia Tulum is stunning so worked out really well in the end as got best of both worlds I don't think people who have never done a DW realise how much goes into it, I think they think oh it's abroad not much to do....how wrong....I was so stressed before I booked!!

I am however doing fans. waybuloo - welcome to the thread, I did exactly the same and booked the wedding direct with the hotel! who wants to wait for their date!? xx lol....exactly!! & also you could book & then you can't have the date/location you want....that would be a disaster!! I am going to do OOT bags but just for an Itinerary (so guests know what dates they have to be with us & what dates to leave us alone....lol!!) a map of resort, local attractions, wedding invitation, wedding schedule & bug spray!! So good to chat to some English Brides, where are you from?x

Finally got our paperwork today... they told us 2 weeks but its actually been 5 weeks.... All signed and sent away.. need to wait now (they say a week or 2 but not holding my breath) until all is confirmed.... I must say the girl in the shop has been fabulous though!!! all the way through, just a bit of a poo wedding dept!!! Do you have a dress in mind? Yeah like a few girls on here... i never heard of OOT bags til i came on here, i decided to do them, then i changed my mind and dcided not to do them... now im debating again.. :-) Watch this space xox Im not sure whether to do favours or OOT bags at the mo... i think i will see how many we have coming before i 100% decide. In OOT bags, people put things like.. Mugs Chapstick Playing cards Hang over kits pashinas flip flops resort maps the list goes on, and most stuff is usually personalised with Bride & Groom wedding details, names & dates etc :-) You should check out the OOT section on this forum... FAB.... xoxo Do you know I have been on this forum for about 6 months & been chatting to lots of American Brides who have been lovely but it is so nice to chat to us UK brides!! Glad TC worked out ok for you, my shop just weren't very helpful & also a lot of brides on here had said that my WC in resort was terrible for replying to emails however she has always come back to me within a day.....maybe its all the sucking up to her I do.....lol.....I'll do whatever it takes to get the day of my dreams!! I am going to do OOT bags mainly to put an Itinerary in so guests know what they are doing on what day, also I know it sounds horrible but I don't want them all with me for 14 days!! So am going to put on the Itinerary that it is their holiday as well so feel free to explore!! I am going to put in a map of resort, local attractions, bug spray (as have heard there are quite a few!!), invite to the wedding, wedding day scedule & a couple of treats don't know what yet!! I am also going to do favors.....maracas on all the seats at the wedding with a little note attached to them with ribbon saying 'Shake when we kiss' (an idea I stole from another bride on here), then at the sit down dinner am going to do tequila shot glasses for the adults....haven't decided what for the children yet?? Any ideas?? You know the love heart sweets you can buy over here, well there is a website where you can buy them with a personalised wrapper on e.g Lisa & Richard's Wedding 2nd June 2011.....so nearer the time I am going to order them to be put at each dinner place.

Hi my name is Lisa & I am getting married 2nd June at the Gran Bahia Principe Tulum.....I don't want to tempt fate but so far everything is going really well.....I phoned (yes phoned!!) the resort & booked my wedding date!! I was told by my TA not to do this but they wanted me to wait 8 weeks after booking to get my wedding date....NO CHANCE!! & besides some of the people only coming for 7 days may have missed the wedding day!! I have read through all the posts on hers & have to agree that I don't know how THOMAS COOK get any repeat business, they could'nt offer me what I wanted, wouldn't match other quotes & to be honest were rude. I ended up booking with COOP TRAVEL using FIRST CHOICE & THOMSON. All 35 of us leaving on the same day, same flight & get married 6 days after arriving so it gives us 8 days after wedding to chill out!! Am so excited I could burst.....just need to lose some weight to go dress shopping!! My WC in resort has been fantastic, I have booked my wedding location, wedding dinner & poolside reception & DJ all with a year to go!! Is anyone taking OOT bags for their guests? Seems to be an American thing I hear a lot on here!!

Another concern I have is for our guests that will only be coming for 4 days (we have about 10 doing this)... they only get 1 a la carte coupon... I'm worried that they will use it on their own before the wedding dinner. What would happen? Would they not be allowed to eat with us? That would be terrible! I have asked Jazmin this & she said that I would be charged for the meal if the guests didn't have any vouchers left...she didn't say how much!! I just swiftly added in my intro letter to my guests that they would have to save one a la carte option for our wedding dinner as didn't want to end up with a bill!!
