Lisa-
Yeah, she was very rude. My mom even called her and she started complaining to my mom that people had been complaining about her attitude and that "no one knows what she goes through". My travel agent company has actually fired Angie (well, refused to work with her). I just think it is unprofessional! We are putting a lot of money towards these weddings and the least they can do is be friendly. Not to mention it was because of her that my wedding time got cancelled without me knowing. I would NEVER put up with this if we were having a wedding in the states, that is for sure!
Shining-
I feel your pain, my WC is Angie as well and she is very very rude. I think I've called her 12 times and several emails in the past month and just yesterday got an email from her that was unrelated to any of my questions- so frustrating!
Wow!! Thank you so much for this post. I love so many of your ideas that I may have to steal some! I love how you kept everything in your budget. We are trying to stay within a tight budget as well so thank you for the info
Oh, one more. . .LadyDi, Michelle at the resort told me to book hair/makeup now, and for your bridesmaids/moms too. They are really, really busy in May (sorry, I just saw your post from earlier)
Thanks Jennifer for the info. I have been glazing over this info because originally I had all my guests at the Royal but now I have a family staying at the Gran. Could you quote those prices again (the day pass if they wanted to come over another day). Thank you so much!
As for airport transfers, I am not sure. Ours were included in our package, is yours not? I thought even if you booked thru the hotel itself this rate was "included" in the total price
Thats exactly what I want too. I want our Mexico wedding to feel like the real thing!! If its a big production at city hall then it will feel fake in Mexico. There is a great thread on this. I can't seem to find it now but everyone gives really good advice. You can try searching for it.
Can someone help me regarding my question about the photographer. I am really worried that if I give my full payment in cash to my photographer I will never hear from him again. How are the rest of you paying for it? Thanks alot!!
OMG these are sooo pretty. I love them. Thank you for this thread! Ive been wanting to do maracas for a long time and havent found the perfect ones til now!
We are doing the same thing. I really think that it is much like the real thing, however, I dont think you have to sign anything which is usually part of the ceremony. We are only telling my parents (FI's wont even know) about getting married before. It is something we thought about for a long time but in the end it was better for us. If you are worried about people knowing I don't think anyone will know. Good luck!
These are soooo cute! I love the turquoise and pink together. Do you mind me asking, how much did you spend total. Im just now starting on DIY invites and feeling frustrated. Not sure if I should just order invites
Hi Everyone,
I was just wondering how all of you are paying for your photographers/videographers that you are bringing in. My videographer wants cash upfront when he arrives (Mike Cantarell). I guess this just worries me a bit. Any advice?
aerazo,
I guess I didn't even realize that! They never mentioned anything about that when I reserved. They just said it would be $15/pp. I definitely don't want that! I guess I will have to check into other options. Thanks for the heads-up. That is a little stupid since we will be eating that food the next night.
Thanks jesmcan for the other options
I am actually having the welcome dinner at Asiana (I've heard good things). Most of my guests are getting in the night before the wedding and felt like they may want to stick around the resort that first day. We will be going out after dinner, however, to 5th Ave.
Anyone know how to get reservations at Veronica's? How far in advance do you have to reserve a spot for mani's/pedis and couples massage?
LadyDi- Thanks for that info, I was wondering myself!
For everybody else, I just wanted to reassure all of you who are having trouble with the WC's (US or Mexico) that everything will work out perfectly on your day. After my mishap with a cancelled wedding (rebooked for an earlier time, luckily) I have been working directly with Zulma and her assistant Michelle. They have been AMAZING!!! I have had no trouble with emails and am immediately connected with Zulma when I call. They tell me how their goal is to make me as happy as possible. I am sooo happy with them!! They even gave me a free cocktail hour and discount on my vendor fee for the inconvenience of now having four hours in between my ceremony and reception.
I'm not sure why some of you have had trouble with communication with them. Do you have TA's that can help the process? I have always reached them in the morning before weddings have started. I have noticed that Michele sometimes will not answer an email if a response is not needed. Keep in mind that during this season they can have up to seven weddings a day!
All in all I think that Zulma will make sure that everyone has their perfect wedding! I hope this helps
