  1. I think that it is not excessive at all. In fact it may give your guests some direction if you do decide to take pics then. I am also at the Royal and there are PLENTY of things for your guests to do if you don't have a cocktail hour. You can put in your ceremony program what to do after until the reception starts. I am doing a cocktail hour just because my ceremony is at 2 pm and reception is at 6pm. (I didn't want it this way but there was a HUGE mishap with communication and my ceremony was cancelled at 4-boo!) Anyways this will give my guests something to do with that 4 hour break. However, this is a great place to save money if you don't do one (it is an all inclusive!). Direct your guests to the lobby bar or to Pelicanos and have a signature drink waiting for them! It is fine either way. Hope this helps!
  2. Gosh, these are really cute. Im with astreit, wish I would have done something. . . It was just kinda known who mine were so really it was just "ok so you know youre a BM right?" Haha. I really like these, good idea!!
  3. Congratulations and good luck with the planning!!

Congrats and welcome! Looks like a great resort
  6. duprk452- Here is Veronica's phone number +52 984-112-1360 I know this has probably been asked before (so sorry, Im lazy today and don't want to search, haha!) but do they serve a childrens meal at the reception and do we pay the adult price for the kids? thanks! -Lynds
  7. astreit- very cute! LadyDi- yeah you can. . . I just liked the idea of doing my own thing. However, it wasn't a huge difference in price (maybe a couple hundred) so I suggest pricing it out, especially if you have a large group. duprk452- Veronicas is a big price diff. From what I have found on here everyone is very happy with the work there. $15 for mani and pedi (i think) and $30 for a massage there. Big diff from the spa! I can't seem to get a hold of them to book though, hmmm...
  8. Duprk452- We are actually just going with a very basic package and adding everything a la carte. It actually was cheaper for us and we didn't feel we needed all the extras in the larger packages (ie romantic dinner). My girls and I are getting manis/pedis at Veronicas on 5th avenue and I didnt need that either. Hope this helps
  9. Tina- Your wedding was soooo beautiful!!!! I love your colors. Thank you so much for the post
  10. I can't believe how amazing your pics turned out. Did your husband know that you were doing a BD shoot? CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Everything looks gorgeous!
  11. Does anybody know if the centerpieces provided by the resort is included in the private reception "package" or do you have to pay extra? Im trying to decide whether to bring my own. I guess I don't want to pay for something that I don't really like but if its free. . .
  12. Thanks Natalie and Jesmcan for the information! LadyDi, if I understand your question, you can only have two options for the main course. The salad and dessert, everyone has to have the same
  13. Thank you so much for this post! I originally wanted a very very simple wedding. It is so easy to get caught up in this forum and all the different options. I also took a step back and realized the real reason why we are going to Mexico. . . and its not all the amenities!
  14. Welcome duprk452! Good luck with planning. I'm a late planner too so I know how you feel. You will find everything you need (AND MORE!!) on here. And Jes is right, that is exactly what I was quoted as well
  15. Amen, Jen Jes, thanks for the info. I think I have hit my budget but oh well! Is anyone doing two meal options for the reception? I definitely don't want to order all beef or all fish. Has anyone tried to haggle with the resort on prices. I want to do the dance floor but think that $700 is ridic. Thought about trying to get them to come down.
  16. Thanks for the info on Wicky's. Can you girls give me a price range for them? I am currently doing the resort restaurant but really having second thoughts. I am already at budget and don't really want to spend any more but have a hard time justifying staying at the resort for a meal similar to the reception! How boring for my guests!
  17. Thank you so much. Im starting this now and this really helps. Oh and thanks mykidsmomtx. also very helpful
  18. I also just got my checklist two days ago and am getting married May 14. I emailed with several questions and they actually got back to me fairly quickly. . .a nice surprise. Seems like they are very accomodating and very nice (ie willing to change flower colors, can do two meal options etc). As for flowers, brides bouquet is included if you do the standard bouquet. some others (cascading or those with orchids) are more. Bridesmaids are 60 for standard and go up from there as well. Single long stem rose is 15. I am not sure about day pass rates. I was quoted 60 way back when. who knows!
  19. Thank you so much Jennifer for the info. That does make me feel better! I really do understand that this has to be very tough dealing with so many weddings.
  20. I agree with Midnight but now I am worried- I am wearing Reese!! However, you look awesome in Reese so if you love it, get it. It is very sexy. What is the overall feel of your wedding?
  21. Oh, I agree with Jes, get everything it writing. I did the same thing, email folder for wedding only, printing and bringing to Mexico! Brides will win!!!!
