  1. wow! great work ladies! those are beautiful! re: sending out invites after people have booked - if you want to, why not? i think it's nice to give people something formal, that way it's more like they're going for your wedding, not they're going on a trip and it just so happens your wedding is there.......well, that's what my MOH told me when i was debating.... =)
  2. i think i'm going to use vistaprint's business cards for photo share cards. there'll be 250 but i figure i can use them for the AHR too. if you want bigger, you can use their postcards. don't forget to look at other free items too! Quote: Originally Posted by amcferron about photo share cards....is there a website anyone would recommend to share photos at?? and do you basically have your guests all upload the pics they took there and then anyone can access it?? thanks!! and invites.....i am sending both too!! it really is just a formality, so i think it is a personal choice.
  3. ended up spending less on 2 veils from venus_veils than the one i was eyeing at the bridal salon. they arrived very quickly and the quality was great! defiantely couldn't justify spending $100+ on a piece of "mesh"
  4. after much debate and searching, we finally picked a song! Lifehouse - You and Me
  5. hey ladies, as i search around for shoes, i had a question for those who had / having a beach ceremony, do you walk up to the sand take your shoes off before you walk into the sand or are you walking all the way with no shoes or going in with your shoes? i'll need shoes for the reception because it's in the garden but not sure if i need another for the ceremony/ also, where do you start to walk out from? i've been searching the hundreds of pages in the thread but hard to sort through and couldn't really see what people how they reached the sand area. thanks!
  6. thanks diahr! (yay, Royal PDC!) that's a cute idea! hmmm....lol, my FI will probably think the same about the mushiness, but it's a wedding, some nice mush never hurt anyone
  7. same, i can't believe we're already about 1/2 way through January! losing weight has been one of those worries we all have, but it's not something you see overnight, so keep goin!! FI thinks I've taken on too many DIY projects, but I think they are fun and keep my mind from wandering and worrying. Can't wait to finish so I can show you! anyways, have a great weekend ladies! hope we all get lots of planning done~~~
  8. i got mine from www.weddinglinensdirect.com lots of colours to choose from
  9. are the tags still on and have a reciept? if you ask to speak to the manager and explain maybe they can help or least give you store credit? i don't know what sort of wiggle room they have but worth a try if you haven't already. no way to let it out? i don't know how it looks like, but if it's zipper back, maybe see if you can alter it to be lace up so there's some room? my friend went to her seamstress and turned a high backed, back zippered dress so could no longer zip up to the top into a "v-back" dress with a low zipper. or add a panel of a fabric?
  10. revieved a preview on my e-photos and thought i'd share! i think i look a bit pale and hair got damp - we were freezing, it was snowing that morning, then was raining for parts during but it was still a lot of fun. http://sakuraphotography.com/blog/engaged/rose-and-davids-engagement-shoot/
  11. i hope everything goes ok tonight, not talking things over could make it ackward and tense when you do see them in the future ..... not a pleasant situation, but some things just need to be aired out. it's appalling what they'd rather miss their son's wedding for. don't let it dampen the wonderful-ness of your wedding Quote: Originally Posted by diahr Ok Ladies...I need to give you an update / vent on the wedding drama that started on Thanksgiving (below is refresher for the noobies). No..this was not intentional, but I have had no reason speak to them and I stopped making them a top priority in my life since clearly, the wedding of their son and I is not a top priority in their life. I am super busy anyway. I work long hours, I volunteer just about every Saturday, I work out and I have a wedding to plan, so I haven't had the time/energy/desire to go out of my way to see/talk to them. I have in no way hindered my FI's relationship with his father. He has been to see them since this fiasco numerous times and has spoken to his father on the phone...so you'll understand my shock when his father calls him and says "why are you alienating me?" Seriously, WTF... (I didn't know a guilty conscious could make you so dramatic) My FI had a 30 min long conversation with his father about why I was pissed (and justifiably so) and that he was not alienating his father. Long story short..My FIL's wife sends me a text message that we need to sit down and talk... I can't imagine what these people have to say to me. I'm shocked that they have time to talk to me in between getting ready for the move that's 6 mos away or estimating the cost of jeep shocks or the trailor...I am really so done with this, however my FI told me to be a good sport and hear them out so guess how I am spending my Friday night?! WooHoo!! Give you ladies an update soon. (I guarantee they haven't even checked the prices for a 2 night stay)
  12. thanks ladies! it's so nice to know that i'm not insane and "stressing myself out" because you all know the feeling and the pressures. it's nice coming from friends and family, but some times when i tell them i want to make this or that for the wedding, i might as well have told them i'm trying to grow a tail! deep breaths is right! here we go ladies.......... on another note, i receive a little preview for e-photos! ...... a bit self concious since it was snowing the morning of and was raining throughout so my hair got damp and my face looks pale..... http://sakuraphotography.com/blog/engaged/rose-and-davids-engagement-shoot/ Happy Friday ladies!
  13. happy new year ladies! can you believe it's 2011???? hope everyone's planning is going smoothly! i've been going crazy planning my pre-wedding AHR, doing the invites for it (in 3 languages), purchasing a chinese gown for it, worrying about the new booze laws for it....worrying about the food for it...uuugghhh.... then there's the actual wedding, have to get my gown fitted, waiting for bridesmaid dresses to arrive, waiting for chair sashes to arrive, waiting for sand frame to arrive, gotta seal the frame when it arrives, looking for a cheap ttd dress, worrying about location to do the ttd, wanting to do some diy luminaires, need to find shoes and a necklace, flight prices are creeping up and 1/2 the ppl with rooms booked haven't booked flights.... vent vent vent thanks ladies .... just been one of those "freak out" days
  14. hi ladies happy new year! have been going crazy planning my pre-AHR and the wedding. stressing a bit..but i guess that's "normal". been lurking around here, thanks for all the great info! sorry for not really posting ...not much to say since ladies here are so fast and knowledgable! hope everyone's been doing well, congrats to all the new mrs. and excited for those upcoming!
  15. hi! just wondeirng where you got your fans from. thanks!
  16. i was wondering the same thing, because i want to tone up some too. i was recommended to bring my dress in for a first fitting to begin alterations around the end of February/beginning of March....hope that helps..... good idea to call the seamstress you'll be working with for some timing estimates and add some time to that just in case.
  17. awww thanks ladies =) i can't wait to have it hemmed and all! (in a couple of months)
  18. here's mine! i was still a bit under the weather when i went pick it up so i hope don't scare anyone. haha i figure i had already called in sick and thought it would make me feel better to go pick up my dress....and it did this is the bridal salon's veil, mine is a bit different.
  19. I finally got around to loading this into my computer. this was taken when I went to pick up my Paigely. Not my veil, I've chosen a different one. And excuse the weird look and pale-ness...wasn't ready for the picture and was still under the weather but haaaad to go pick up my dress after I got the call.
  20. wow ChicagoBride your photog is fast! they turned our beautifully! we're still waiting for ours, probably won't be until the new year.... thanks for sharing your photos
