those are super cute! thanks for the tip, i didn't realize that DSW accepts Canadian credit cards! it looks like i'll have to ship it to a postal receiving service across the border to pick it up....unless i'm doing it wrong....

i don't know why it comes out all warped and why my attachment didn't show up - but you get the idea......

ooops, forgot the attachment

Hey Ladies! awfully quiet here the last couple of days!! i don't have photos to show you yet but attached my brochure....also thought I'd "break the silence" Got the nudge I needed to keep going with wedding planning from you gals here. Thought I'd share some more planning progress since last week. Guess snowy weather helps motivate wedding planning. DIY - stir sticks (well, the tops for them) - photo share cards - mini photobook of e-photos for parents - pre-travel brochure - luggage tags also, ordered groomsmen shirts, FI suit and shirt from Studio Suits! ....hopefully i'll get through some more stuff this weekend....i think i've picked out some shoes too. i think (indecisive)....

ordered a gown from ebay seller iren.iren. just received today, was so excited i opened it right away at work....then couldn't stuff it back into the tiny package it's a replica in a different colour of maggie sottero amara royale for my AHR. i'm quite happy with it, fit is a little loose but i think that's because i've lost some weight since i ordered....and tying the lace-up at home alone doesn't help.... hmmm...for some reason i can't post pix, so i uploaded them. http://s754.photobucket.com/albums/xx183/wongrose/dress/ definately not bad for the price as materials used felt quite nice.

thanks! i'll make sure he takes a good look =) yes, alterations are expensive! i've called around today and chose isabelle's in north van even though i didn't get my dress from them. i made the appointment for the end of march because i'm also hitting the gym hard and eating right. ....another month closer.....

wow heather! you really did have a productive week! i used about a foot of ribbon per fan, give or take depending on how big the holes are and if you want to double back. cute luggage tags & love your sand ceremony set! thanks for reassurance on studiosuits - we're deciding on clothes this weekend for the guys and i feel as if we're running behind on that because Fi's thinking he'll look funny in linen so we've been thinking of alternatives..... i'm trying to convince him just to go try some on first...... where are you getting your dress altered? i'm looking to have mine done in the next couple of week but having a hard time deciding. lol, i thnk you just gave me the nudge i needed to keep going~~~~~

Veronica, you look so lovely & happy in your dress!!!! and those cakes are all so gorgeous. we're not doing cake for our AHR (after a 10 course chinese banquet there's not room) but if we were, those would be most desired! lol, now I can't wait to go for my fitting(s)...makes me want to move up my appointment Kitty, my FI is also dragging his feet about attire....and groomsmen attire.....i've been trying hard not to keep asking/"reminding" him. he says i worry too much but how can i not when he just doesn't pick up the speed on these things but wants to look good. yes, it's not something that can be left til the last minute..... going to order this week. yup. not giving an option anymore. lol. my gals came over and tried their dresses on and they all fit (they were afraid of excess holiday weight) just some minor alterations in the bust. i liked the dress so much, i've ordered one for myself in black -
cuuute!!! i love that starfish design on the back. so glad they turned out well! you'll soon notice that DIY is addictive and hard to know when to stop!

woops - boy i miss that edit button. i hope your FI's grandmother gets better!! my last grandparent is also my grandmother, she had a stroke before xmas and can't make it either.....definately a bummer but their health is more important. glad your best friend decided to attend regardless of her breakup, her support will make a difference! thanks, you're so sweet to think of "my" pink =)

you ladies are the best! always know how to make a gal feel better! will let you know how it goes tomorrow..... thanks heather! yes, quite nervous about the meeting but i went to gym last night (training for the 10 km Sun Run!) and thought it through. it's beyond my control so even if i freak out lots now, it won't do anyone any good. i'll just have to wait and see tomorrow......but if they deny the claim $1000 isn't the end of the world - sure will hurt the wallet though. we're having out AHR at the Kirin next to Starlight Casino in New West. Our families really REALLY REALLY wanted to Chinese banquet with a zillion people and a ton of food. I was so upset and so nervous about my meeting at ICBC... but the guy was surprisingly nice about it and didn't even try to accuse me of backing in to anything! I only have to pay the $300 hit and run deductible to get it fixed (which I still haven't had time to do). They could have just been extra nice to me because I have an ongoing settlement with ICBC and they want to keep me happy so I will settle sooner.. haha I hope your meeting goes as well as mine did though!! ICBC is always out to screw you... so you just have to prepare for the worst. Where are you having your AHR?? ooooo! yes, take a pic and show us!!! they're quite cute! that's so nice of you!!!! very few people (especially these days it seems) that would own up the responsibility. wholey moley - someone tried to break into your house while you were there alone?!?!?! i'm so glad that you're okay! good karma is coming your way!! try to breathe during the stress - yesterday, my friend's kid told me "aunty rose, don't frown, grandma says frowning makes you wrinkley". ~~if you want the rainbow, you've gotta put up with the rain~~ Quote: Originally Posted by Bride KSmith Sorry to hear that. They called and didn't even want to accept anything because they were so pleased that I took the time to leave my contact information even though no one saw the accident. We still gave them a check for the paint repair to be done. It just feels better to be honest. As far as stress goes: I have had two of my three bridesmaids inform me (this week) that they will not be able to attend the wedding; I am in my first semester of grad school and my methods of research course is beyond confusing; I have a collateral duty assignment at work that is now requiring overnight travel; I am in a bootcamp to lose this exrta weight and it is exhausting; and someone tried to break into my house last week while I was home alone. Stress is an understatement!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (There is more but It would take to long to type it all) On the positive side, In 3 months and 11 days I will be marrying the one person that can make me smile in the midst of all this craziness!

aww, thanks Cherazi =) i'm dreading this meeting on thursday....these things make me nervous - are they going to rip me to shreads syaing i'm not being honest? i'm in BC and insurance isn't privatized here, so ICBC (ins. corp. of BC) is pretty much all or nothing here, unless you've been a driver for at least 15 years or something i think it was and then the few and far between private companies will look at you. yes, stress as second nature - know the feeling. hopefully there'll be no more drama after this. if i could crawl into a planning bubble and not come out until it's all done, it would be most excellent! i hope your 12 hour days don't last long, you find a dream house and your planning goes smoothly!

what a day! saturday night, i borrowed FI's car to run some errands, parked in front of my house on the street and someone hit and runs it. Made for a crappy weekend. Then he phoned the insurance company to report it. told him to take to the body shop - today they call said their estimater looked at the damage and "it's not consistant with that of a vehicle impact - did you run into a pole or something?". No i didn't. Wouldn't I know if I did since it's on the driver's side?? Meeting with them on Thurs afternoon to discuss our options. It'll cost $1000 to fix if they deny the claim. Not the end of the world but it totally sucks and definately eats into my budget. I can't believe it. FI didn't seem mad or anything at me about it, just choked that it happend.....which kinda made me feel bad but.................... THEN, FI calls the restaurant for the AHR asking for some approx. dollar figures and to check max. seating capacity and freaks out when the guy misunderstood what he meant and said the min. charge is $22 800. (I did too since it's way more than what we were originally quoted). So then I had to call and sort it out and see what it was all about, BUT not before FI freaks out at me about always choosing the most expensive "everything" and how this was a poor choice, etc.etc. (we also had problem with them regarding ordering alcohol & bringing our own) what a crappy week - and it's only Tuesday. i'm stressed and feeling depressed. why is it when things seem to move smoothly, a ton of bricks come along?
-
wow! your wedding sounds amazing! so glad your site inspection went well
-
i've been on the fence about the video too and FI definately thinks they charge too much....but I'd really like some footage - such as before and during the ceremony, cake cutting, first dance. looks like i've gotta trim some costs down somewhere to splurge on it..... did they share the "good angles" well with your photographers?
