  1. Due to some cost and timing factors, I'm currently looking at Puerto Vallarta instead of the Mayan Riviera. My W-Day isn't until next May but I'd like to get a move on the resort searching. Was originally leaning towards a Secrets - but there doesn't seem to be any in this area, but Dreams are under the same parent company. So, do any of you knowledgable ladies know what the major differences would be between these 2 resorts? Anything.... THANKS!
  2. Hi there, I am considering the El Dorado Royale, any of you experienced ladies our there know what the beach condition is like? I would like my ceremony on the beach and usually spend most my time beaching when on these types of vacations.... THANKS!
  3. uggh i got a rate back from Air Canada for The Royal Playa Del Carmen for May 2011 - was very high, especially after taxes. ($2100 + taxes) TA says I could wait a bit and see if it goes down....I don't think it'll go down enough for us to feel better about asking people to go....I feel a little guilty for "making" everyone fly out for our wedding....we're willing to splurge (we've been to the resort and love it) but don't know if our guests are so willing.... Also, trying to have a ceremony on a Sunday limits the resort options. well, back to the brochures and webistes I go.......
  4. May 2011 here, I'm currently on the edge of my seat, waiting for my TA to hear back from Air Canada on rates - apparently they tend to take a while, but she IS expecting them to give us a rate for May 2011 (Mayan Riviera) soon. Glad to know I'm not the only one itchy to get some solid rates!
  5. i'm sending nothing but good vibes your way! remember to take care of yourself too, because you have to be the "rock".

I'm hoping that since I'm not having a legal marriage there, it would be okay...I guess I'll email the WC for whichever hotel I choose and let them know its symbolic I'm looking for. 7. OK, I think I'm going to do it. Every other gown I've tried on have not compared to Paigely. Every time I've tried on another gown, I've compared it to Paigely. I think it's THE ONE But with more than a year to go, am I too early or will this just give me 1 less thing to worry about so I can go on to choosing veil, shoes, jewellery, BM dresses...
  8. Thanks! I'm getting married in Mayan Riviera in May 2011. Hunter being very hot was also concern of mine, but then again sand sticking into the lace on the Paigely.... Think Paigely will stand up in a TTD?
  9. Help! I'm so torn between 2 very different Maggies! Last week I was totally in love with Paigely: Paigely - by Maggie Sottero And yesterday I tried on Hunter and I didn't want to take it off! Hunter - by Maggie Sottero Paigely is very different from many of the dresses I've tried on as it's lace over satin. Has beautiful rouching and beading details. Hugs beautifully. Hunter is very sleek, has a bit of beading detail, a clean/modern look and shows off the figure more. Any brides have experience with either of these...? They're both stunning, and hard to compare against each other. Hunter is priced approx. $400 less, but the detail and lace in Paigely justifies the price different. erghh.... can I have the both?
  10. Hi Ladies! Anyone know of any resorts in the Mayan Riviera / Cancun area that allows or perform a SYMBOLIC beach ceremony on a Sunday?? Many websites state they don't perform actual ceremonies on Sundays - however, I've heard there are some resorts do let symbolic ceremonies be performed on Sunday, any truth to that? We're in the middle of picking a resort, so for the Royal Playa Del Carmen seems to fit nicely, but just looking at more budget-friendly possibilities.... Thanks!
  11. Hooray! I'm not the only one in 2011 (in May as well) & have my sights set on a Maggie gown as well!!! --- so tempted to buy but also want to hold off and see what else is out there... Hmmm....looks like I need a travel agency that can do some planning b/c all responses i've been receiving are "May 2011 prices aren't out for a couple of months...".....makes me feel like it's less "real"...... CONGRATS ALL!!!
  12. Hi all! Would it be too early to start booking for next march? or too late even - you all see to have it "together"....I'm only planning on a small beach ceremony....4-6 people max. which haven't gotten much attention from travel agents.
