Here is some info I found, not sure if it is true or not: Makeup artist or Hair Stylists - You don't have to tip them if they come to you. If you go to the salon, then you should tip them 15%. Why you ask, well the salon makes the money, not the individual. If you have received a good job, and you would tip normally, then go ahead. DJ - If your DJ owns the company then the tip is optional but if the DJ is an employee $50-100.00. If you have 2 DJs (DJ & MC), give each person $50.00 in separate envelopes. When your guests rave about your reception later, it's the DJ that had everything to do with the fun. Photographer and Videographer - If these vendors own the company, then the tip is optional. If they are employees $50.00 goes to the main photographer and he/she can give a split to the assistant. Officiant - To tip them is to trivialize their profession and extremely bad etiquette. Generally you pay your fee and that's it. If you wish to make a financial contribution to the church, you can do that separately. Florist - You don't need to tip the florist for making your arrangements but you can tip them an extra $5.00 per delivery location (3 locations=$15.00) or $10-20.00 per staff member in one lump sum, for set-up and delivery. Your Wedding Coordinator - If this vendor owns the company, then the tip is optional. If they are an employee = $50.00 Ceremony or Reception Musicians - $5-10/hr per person, in one lump sum given to the person in charge. Again, I don't know that you need to tip all of these people, it is just what I saw online. On another note...I am having a horrible morning and need to vent. Someone used those little black box things on our ATM card and we got taken to the cleaners They took all of our wedding money. The bank is saying they will refund it but they need to investigate first. I told them that I leave in 12 days and they really need to get on this fast! Just what I need now, more stress. Hold onto your ATM's ladies...they are NOT SAFE!!! So sorry to hear that! I hope they get that sorted out for you quickly! Just follow up on the status of things closely. Good luck! Try not to let this dampen your excitement - few more days to go!!
  3. Thanks! looks like a great product, i was thinking about taking a couple of tide-to-go pens with me just in case for the week, but was weary about how safe it would be if i had to use it on my wedding dress, but after Googling Madame Paulette's site, it looks really complete and professional. Too bad they only ship to the US - but luckily there's postal outlet in Blaine or Point Roberts that I can ship to! Thanks!

  5. as crazy as it sounds, after the "withdrawl" phase the cravings seem to be less often. i've tried replacing fast food burgers & fries with homemade burgers and mccain low fat superfries (baked) to control some of the damage. worked so far. but sometimes those darn TV commercials.....
  6. before my cousin's wedding last year tried the slendertone wraps in a place in town, lost quite a few inches. got wrapped like a mummy with those ace bandages in some sort of solution, then put onto a eliptical machine for 20 mins of light exercise (to warm up body) and then off to this weird vibrating thing with belts. the places i put the belts apparently lost more. but i did bring a pair of jeans of mine that have become tighter and after i was unwrapped (90 mins later), they fit no problems. doesn't last without maintenance (exercise, diet). i felt it was good for just a "jump start" to see some results to get going.
  7. thanks ladies! its just so nice to have other brides to sound off of and get opinions from, friends and families are great too, but sometiimes they can just add to the stress of things. =)
  8. Hi ladies, i can't seem to find this within the thread so i hope it ok i ask. my WC hasn't gotten back to me about this (she answers all the other questions but hasn't this) if i bring my own photographer who will be staying at the resort, is the outside vendor fee still charged? thanks!
  9. if your logo is a vecotor that's an .eps document then you'll be looking for adobe illustrator rather than photoshop. but if its an SVG, perhaps try inkscape, its a free program that you can use to edit vectors. Inkscape. Draw Freely. however if its a .jpeg, .tiff, .bitmap..etc... a "picture" with pixels then PS would be fine for changes you would like to do.

I just dont know.... think i might leave this one upto FI to decide :-) Im just curious as to what you ladies are doing? xox we are thinking that we would spend the night apart, but thinking it could be hard to not run into each other during the day since our ceremony isn't until 4pm. it would be nice to not see each other up until the last moment - absence makes the heart grow fonder i've heard that a few couples plan a "first look" before the ceremony for some photos and alone time before you're surrounded by everyone, so we're considering that as well. Better start looking at that too. I'd like to order a knockoff dress for the TTD, good tip to leave time in case I don't like or something goes wrong. Thanks!
  12. i just sent over my signed contract! so i guess i'm waiting for a checklist of things now? Then just following the instructions and do my thing? if i'm bringing my own (fake) flowers is it considered "outside vending" ? ooo hard to concentrate on work today!
  13. phew! i thought I was ordering stuff too early! photographer: deposited resort (wedding date): deposited gown - appt to order in 2 weeks real touch flowers: deposited AHR venue: deposited now just hoping the travel rates will drop from what I recently received. my family has been telling me that i'm too early and to not go crazy (just yet), but compared to the savvy ladies here, i'm behind!
  14. i'm so happy i have you ladies and all these past postings to refer to! my wedding is just over a year away, so i have tons of questions. if someone can point me to the right page of postings for a timeline of how and when things happen (if there is), that would be great!

Sephora: Talika Eyelash Lipocils: Mascara I've tried Talika Lipocils about 2 years ago, it works. For me it wasn't noticable on the top as they were on the bottom. I went from having next to no noticeable lower lashes (they were thin and short) to having quite a few longer lower lashes. they didn't fall out they're still there. since it was a bit pricey and at the time i wasn't sure if the lashes woudl stay, i didn't purchase a new tube, haven't thought about re-purchaing again but definately thinking about it now.

  17. we're also going with a TA and also just reserved our wedding date with the resort while we wait for quotes to come in. like jaccat15 says - be sure you have signed contracts in place, that way its all there on ink and paper. also save all your email correspondence and print them out to bring with you for reference in the event of any descrepencies. good luck!
  18. wow! thanks ladies, that's such great info! i'm going to check out a couple of popular places around town, get a consult and go from there. i'm kind of wanting to do my upper lip too, but worried about burning or getting a whote patch or something on my face....
  19. Looking at doing a couple of spots (underarms, bikini & legs) anyone else considering this? Would be nice to not have to worry and fuss about those hairs for the wedding ... and thereafter... wondering if it's worth the investment.
