  1. ok ladies after 3 hours i finally finished my review! ergh took so long because we have so many pix to go through... http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/the-royal-in-playa-del-carmen-all-inclusive-spa-resort/reviews/4663 =) here's some more pix i posted on FB http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150627431715123.682383.522940122&l=c067c7e71f
  2. Ladies! I'm back! Wedding was incredible, would not have done it any other way =) Sorry I didn't post my planning thread and review, I'll get on it this week. Some sh*t hit the fan RIIIGHT before leaving so i didn't have a chance to get my planning thread up. Someone lost thier passport and then another person had problems entering the US suddenly because of their name - this was all 2 days prior to departure - I was a basket case. Person had to get their passport replaced in 24 hours ($$$) the other person had to book a new flight and lose out on their existing one via US. Couldn't find flight that didn't cost $1500 on the dates, they ended up departing 1 day early and returning 1 day earlier. Then the hotel transfer included wouldn't cover the day earlier so we had to find something seperate. But it all worked out in the end, the days following the wedding went by the fastest.......will tell you ladies all about it very sooon. =) *sigh* back to work, back to reality......i guess now i can be more productive =P
  3. we leave thursday! trying to tie up loose ends and get my work in order before i take off. wow - it's kinda exhausting. can't wait to get my butt on the beach! super excited and nervous. hope it all works out!
  4. (we leave thursday - last day of work)
  5. ahhhhh so hard to concentrate on work so busy!!! ergh why does stuff all have to come at once????
  6. i still have 2 days of work....but yes, drraaaaaging on and on!!! i can't concentrate, i have not been productive. either lurking on here, corresponding with photographer, doing my planning thread, making my packing list....ahhahahaha good thing my boss is out for meetings! we leave next thursday!!!!
  7. thanks bonnie! we were pretty anti-chinese reception at first too. as you may remember we had so many problems and bumps through the whole process i was so close to calling it off 2 months prior but it turned out to be a lot of fun. everyone said the food was excellent - if only we had time to eat it.... =P hope your planning in coming along! can't wait for mexico! another day closer!
  8. Wow Angela everything looks so beautiful! love the group shot - so much fun! Congrats~~~~~
  9. congrats ladies!!!!!!!!! hope those that have had or having their weddings have an awesome time! wishing those flying out this week the best! we leave in 9 days! super duper excited!!!!!
  10. I've been thinking about you too! Hope you're having a good time prepping and relaxing, enjoying the sun - still rainy here! Leslie and Mark are super duper amazing! They really know what they're doing. We had crazy "everything" weather on saturday from rain, sun, hail and pouring rain but they were prepared and did kept things rolling. Hahaha it was so weird to walk into Tim Horton's at Harbour Centre in our attire but we were pressed for time. Then when we got to the restaurant they were so great at helping us take photos with everyone as they came in and anyone else who wanted to take pictures. They knew what they were doing - especially since there was about 320 people there. Leslie is so awesome at directing because we took some pretty large family photos. The day went by really fast, and we didn't get to eat so it's very true about what they say but that's ok. My heart was racing the whole time that I just couldn't eat. errrr I realized last night we forgot about my mint matchbooks on saturday and my photoshare cards weren't put in a place where people could see....oh well I hope you have a wonderful wedding and an awesome time in Mexico! Remember to share your wedding details and photos! Enjoy every moment =) Quote: Originally Posted by pineapplebride Rose!!! I've been thinking about your lots!! Everything is ticked off my to-do list, except the Welcome Letters for the OOT bags! I'm starting to worry about all the stuff we are bringing down though.. i keep looking at it all and I don't know how it is going to fit in our luggage and I'm sure we'll be over our weight restrictions!!
  11. saturday was my AHR and it was WAY better than i expected! - we did a quiet (secret) intimate legal ceremony in the morning with our parents - my BM came over to help me get ready (1 is a hairdresser 1 is a makeup artist) - we went to take photos - went to the restaurant, did tea ceremony - guests arrived - errgh, too many guests arrived and restaurant had to add a table (plus they screwed up on set-up in beginning) .... turn out was about 320 guest..... - was some drama about seating and people not sitting where they were assigned =( - we came in, short speeches, eating begins - we did our first dance (which we had lessons for and practiced for months!) super fun - i changed into the chinese dress, went around the tables - tried to eat but was too excited/nervous (i am SOOOO going to eat at my DW) - changed into an evening gown - checked out the photobooth, said goodbye to guests as they left - danced the night away some people complained about the DJ (they wanted rave music or something like that), and some complained why there wasn't any cake. FI ... uh....husband was too disoriented after my toasts at tables it was hard to do much else - we even skipped the garter toss. all in all, was a lot of fun, went by really fast and my legs are sore. NOW for the MEXICO!!! we leave in 10 days!!!
  12. good luck ladies!! I can't believe it's already May 4 today! My AHR is on saturday, I can't believe after all the talking, ranting, raving, and slaving - this is it. I just picked up our wedding bands and they're perfect! Can't wait for the remainder of my etsy items to come in and complete my planning thread. I finished painting my cake topper last night and will be putting the finishing touches on (what I think) is the last of my DIY maddness. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself after all this! Hmmm.....home improvements maybe? here we go ladies!!! exciting stuff!!!
  13. thanks, yes i'll try to relax. have to tie up loose ends for AHR this weekend and just let things go from there =)
  14. i'm a 6, some things a 4 but there's no way i could fit into a 2, thanks anyways. looks like you're just tying up loose ends! happy packing & prepping, have a wonderful wedding! Woo hoo!!! So exciting so many of leaving very very soon! We leave on Monday morning first thing. Tomorrow is our legal day, then Saturday I go in for my vagina massacre and eyebrow wax, and getting my nails done Sunday morning packing the rest of our stuff this weekend and I am so ready to go. I'm working on the AHR invites right now finally got everything ready just need to print out addresses on the envelopes and stick them in the mail! Definitely should have not waited until now to do them but oh well.
  15. thanks and good luck to you too! if i'm not too hungry or disoriented i'll try to be on the lookout for your reception when i arrive! exciting!!!!! ~~~~~~~
  16. thanks, the closest david's bridal is a couple hours of driving away, i might just do it (maybe i'll phone and see what they have in stock first) otherwise i saw this chiffon white column style dress in the window at this shop near my office.....$105, but i kinda feel like i'm in a nightgown in it... =S Quote: Originally Posted by NurseM I got my TTD @ davids bridal for $99 its perfect, has a corset back and beautiful train could not go wrong
  17. same, panic mode sunk in the last day or 2 and my head has been spinning ever since. i think i have most stuff covered but keep going back and forther wonder.... ugh, the TTD dress i purchased online doesn't work AT ALL so i'm freaking out trying to find someone else that doesn't cost an arm and a leg while shipping the other one back. dammit. =S
  18. we leave in 3 weeks!!! rings will be done soon, dress is all done, breaking in shoes, shower is on saturday.......need more favours for AHR (ugh) and still waiting for a couple etsy things to come in....wrapping things up....working on my planning thread....trying to get enough sleep....feels like there aren't enough hours in a day.
  19. I sure hope we break even too! or at least as close as possible.....so far some relatives have been very generous and a couple have been cheap.....a bit worried but nothing we can do about it since it's coming up really fast!
  20. thank you starting early with the DIY stuff even though i thought (at the time) was too early, was a good idea.
  21. no problem =) can't wait to take a look myself today. i'm doing curls and a side ponytail-type "do", with a hair flower i ordered from etsy. i wanted an updo at first but after a trial i decided even with heat and humidity i wanted my hair kind of down. like cherazi said, check out the knot's website, tons and tons of hair styles to look at. that is a great idea - hehehehe packing earlier and giving BM the overflow. LOL, i hope i don't have a lot of overflow same, my FI is preoccupied with house stuff and his bachlor party is this weekend so it's me taking on the wedding stuff. i don't even have swin suits ready! time for some shopping~~~~~
  22. just check on the Royal's wedding website http://weddings.realresorts.com/planning/ you can go through the calendar, packages and extras. You don't have to submit the info at the end and it gives you an idea of what dates and locations are available along with an estimate of cost for any extras you might want (DJ, flowers, etc.). hope that helps. deposit was $200 USD when i booked, i'm not sure if it has gone up since. if you know which date / week you want, i would look and book soon =) Quote: Originally Posted by RGWedding Hi Ladies, I took a vacation at the Royal in December and fell in love with the resort.
