I took so long writing my own ceremony script, I finally had it perfect. At the wedding the Minister (who I understand does most of the weddings and I see her pictured above) messed up our ceremony by skipping an entire portion of our script. She didn't ready any of our sand ceremony script except for one small paragraph at the end. I didn't know what to do at the time, if I stopped the wedding it would have been worse, everyone would have know. It would have looked terrible on video- stopping the wedding. But I was so angry that for a "wedding factory" everything should be smooth and no major errors as they do this everyday, several times a day! The other problem was with the music. The was a short or something in the cord they used to connect my IPOD to the sound system.. the music kept cutting out. The control of the music for the ceremony was just terrible, songs cut off, the music cutting out. It was very upsetting. We decided to give it a few days, try to "get over it" but by the end of out stay I was still crying over it. We went to talk to Zulma before we left, she was unaware of the problems with the ceremony script. After talking to her about it (which she was great and very sorry) she took action and by the end of the day had provided us some compensation for the minister's error. It was great of her to do this, it obviously didn't make up for what we can't get back but she did everything she could to help make it up to us. The sour taste in my mouth comes though with the phone call we recieved from the minister to our room shortly after my conversation with Zulma. The minister didn't apologize, she didn't understand why I would be upset and she was upset with me because the resort was apparently going to take part of the compensation from her. She was basically asking me to reconsider but without any apology. It made me so angry, what was I supposed to do? She skipped a huge portion of our script. I feel like my perfect wedding was ruined. It made me more angry that she confronted us about the money instead of her employer. (yes she works for the resort). I want to say thought that Zulma was very professional in all of this and she was just so wonderful with everything. She is amazing and she does take complete care of you when you get there! She is aware of everything that is going on with the MI office moving and she does know what is going on with all of us brides. I just felt that everyone should know what we encountered. I don't want to worry anyone but at the same time if I can prevent any problems I want to do what I can. Every bride plans and hope for everything to be perfect and when its not and its errors by someone else and its out of your control, well, its heartbreaking, at least to me. We do miss The Royal so much already though, we have already been trying to figure out when we can go back... aside from a few problems with the ceremony, everything else was wonderful. Sorry to hear about what happened, I'm sure none of your guests noticed. The nerve of that minister to call you up and talk like that! Try not to let that ruin the memory of your special day!!! By the way, you looked beautiful!

I went with Rowena. So exciting! Congrats. Thanks! The store called and said it is the length that's different - of 3" and I shouldn't worry about the top being different. i guess i was just having one of "those moments" just checked Maggie's site and Rowena looks gorgeous! now to continue waiting for its arrival! thanks again!
  4. thanks for putting the list together! that's so great! yay for may!
  5. i think going to facials weekly is too much stimulation for your skin if your skin is in okay condition already. i usually go 4 times a year as the weather changes. Just don't get one too close to your wedding date - you may still be red or recovering from extractions. results aren't immediate, so it's a good idea to start a proper cleanse, tone, moisturize, eye cream & SPF routine and don't sleep with makeup on! get an exfoliant, but nothing too harsh (something with ROUND or fine granuals, or maybe an enzymatic peel instead), and a mask. exfoliation and mask frequency depends on your skin type. they don't have to be expensive products as long as they are for your skin type. as for teeth whitening, it will depend on whether you're doing a home kit or something at the dentist's office. you can always do a touch up, if you feel it hasn't lastest. also, i love these GoSmile tube thingies that Sephora has to do touch ups after eating or drinking staining foods (coffee, tea). to help maintain those pearly whites =) hope that helps!
  6. core class - buuut just got some stressful news and munch on chips ....uugh regret.... gotta make it up with some gym time tomorrow!
  7. i was catching up with a friend on the weekend and mentioned i ordered my dress already. she said she had a maggie too and the petite length with a crinoline saved her from having to hem it, and felt the the proportions were better than the regular. i'm 2" shorter than she is @ 5', so i would need it hemmed regardless regular or petite length, so the bridal salon ordered me a regular length. now I'm worried that the proportions will be all off for mine. i tried on both length's sample and can't recall if they were different. the store is trying to see if they can change it to a petite length for me but chances are slim since it's been almost 6 weeks. It's this dress Paigely - by Maggie Sottero my main concern is the rouching & beading on the left side being too low on me. the store is telling me that it's the porportions will be the same, just the length of 3" will be different. Am i just being overly nervous?

  9. wow! you've got quite a list there! The resort chains that you've listed are certainly popular choices. Perhaps start with narrowing down the features and amenitites that are most important for you to have and see which resort can fufill the most? The Dreams and Palace properties are very popular, modern decor and family friendly. Before we chose our resort, we also looked at Dreams PV and Riviera. Don't forget to check out the May 2011 Brides thread =)

  24. Hi PuntaCanaNikki! We also debated over the whole "where to do it legally" thing, we decided on getting it legally done before leaving so we wouldn't have to deal with blood testing and translating, etc. Just run a search through the forum and do a list of pros & cons to weigh your options out? I see you're a fellow Canadian, maybe this could be helpful: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-brides-29917/ Congrats & Happy Planning!
  25. welcome Ann! you can find an answer through the forum for most - if not all questions you may have....heck, you'll even find answers to questions you didn't know you had! =) happy planning!
