  1. Hey bartmanb! I wish my FI were as excited as you seem to be! It would make planning and decision making so much easier! haha! Good luck with your planning. This forum makes it 200% easier.
  2. Congrats on your engagement, and welcome to the forum! I can't help with resorts (since mine in St. Lucia is the only one I've been to), but you'll find SO much information here!

  13. I helped a friend with DIY bouquets about a year ago. We left about a foot of stems. It wasn't a massive amount to cover with ribbon, but it gave her enough hold on them that she never felt like she didn't have enough 'hand space'. I'm not sure if this will work for your flowers, but just my two cents!
  14. I love it! Which is now a problem because I have added it to my "DIY to do" list. Mind you, this page is now about 3 pages long in MS Word!
  15. I've never tried anything like those (being 6'1, heels aren't really an option for me).. but I've found through friends and personal experience, that it's better to get a larger size than a smaller size. You can always add in those feet shield things that stop your skin from rubbing, to customize the size a bit. If the shoes are too small from the beginning, then you're stuck with REALLY uncomfortable shoes all night. Ouch!

FI says I can use at least one of his bags.. so I get 3 huge bags to take! HEAVEN!
  17. I'm sure you're not the only one! It wasn't something I even knew about until I joined this forum.
  18. Hey girls, I was surfing around today, and came across a free song download. After listening to the song, it sounds like my perfect father/daughter dance song... and since it's new... not completely over used like many other songs that I liked. In case anyone wants it as well: Edwin McCain download - Get Married - Wedding Local Professionals - Weddings - Wedding Planner - Wedding Planning - Wedding Cakes - Brides I'm not sure of what spam emails they'll be sending me, since I just signed up this morning, but I figure if it becomes a problem I can just unsubscribe from everything.
  19. I haven't done mine yet, but I plan on hole punching two holes in the top and stringing raffia through it along with a personalized ribbon. On the bow of the ribbon and raffie, will be a starfish charm (since that's the main theme of the wedding). I'm not mailing out my letters and packages, but handing them out personally since the people that will be going are so close to us that we see them all the time. They'll be in nautical looking gift bags with the luggage tags and a few other assorted gifts.
  20. I agree... total coverage from before the time that we left until we returned. Such as me running around my house looking for the one bra that I just cannot find to pack! HAHA. Those are the moments we never remember, but make the entire trip come together perfectly. Multiple photographers would be AMAZING so that all the guests arrivals and trips can be perfectly documented for them as well. I would also love to have unlimited retouches and effects on the photographs, all with the copyrights released to me. I love the photoshopping that I've seen on a lot of photographs. The sepia tones, b&w's, and the enhancement of colors can make for BEAUTIFUL photography. As well, I'd love professional photo books for my parents and grandparents, and FI's parents and grandparents. This was just as special a day for them as it was for us! Photo books individualized for each guest (they're arrival, photos of the wedding from angles they couldn't see from their seats, their rooms, parties, etc) would be the perfect wedding gift from us to them, as well. I know I'm being picky and greedy here, but I would love a photographer with the capability to shoot underwater. FI and I will most likely go snorkeling and scuba diving on our trip, and documenting that with pictures seems like it would be AMAZING! I'm sure I'll come up with more ideas as time goes on!
  21. Congratulations on your victory! Although this is the first wedding for FI and myself, and we have no children... I came from divorced parents, and wasn't at my father's second marriage. THAT is a story too long to get into here, but just know that by fighting for your stepdaughter's right to attend the wedding, you have made a HUGE difference in her life!
  22. I'm a November 5th bride, in Saint Lucia.
  23. I'd be interested in hearing the responses to this as well. We're most likely going to play music off of our iPods, and purchase a sound dock for it...!
  24. As soon as the FI gets home and I can get on his laptop, I'll post the template for the Tears of Joy packets.
  25. I LOVE the BD books.. yourp ics turned out great. Very Halle Berry-esque!
