Might be worth it to just pay the resort. Is that an option at your resort or are you just thinking it might be too expensive? Hi again Natalie!!! May long was not the best weekend weather wise to come.... it'll get better. I promise! We were all talking a while back about getting together. What about a random Starbucks somewhere for coffee. What area is everyone in? I'm in the NW... well Cochrane so close enough.

Pam you're so brave. I wouldn't last one night knowing there were bears and snow out there! Glad you had a great long weekend!

I also have a photographer already. We are bringing one with us from here and the only reason we chose that is because the vendor fee was so damn expensive and none of the packages included a photog. So I will definatly be saying something to them about that! In the end, I'm actually happy that we'll have her there for the whole week but if the packages had included one in the first place, I probably would have just gone with that. Angie, have you heard ANYTHING from the resort at all? I haven't and I'm now getting a little concerned.

I have time so I'm just wondering if I should hold out for a better deal. Look at me. So greedy.

Yipee Cara!!! Welcome back and congrats. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Hi again Nicole! Just curious if you are staying with the same resort? Obviously, you must have heard it's changed to NOW Sapphire Riviera...

Welcome Chong! Sounds like my kind of friday night... glass of wine and BDW! My FI just shakes his head because I pretty much have my laptop attached to my knees! His favorite line :"Are you creeping again Aly?" Mine: "NOOOO.... so....."

One room actually has 3 ppl staying too so would 3 mugs be pushing it? The pic looks relatively large but the dimentions dont sound that big... hmmm?

Men's Tungsten Carbide Wedding Band
MayanLily replied to cait713's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
Emergency services CAN actually remove the ring. It's a common misconception that you'll lose your finger God forbid anythign ever happen. All hospitals and ems vehicles are equipped with a tool that will actually shatter the ring. That's where the saying "the ring or your finger" comes from. Hopefully, you'll chose your finger and buy a new ring! Just an FYI for those of you buying a Tungsten. I personally think they are great and great looking too bad we already bought my FIs or I'd snap this one up! -
Angie, I thought that too but what they told me at the Jewellery store was this. EMS do have ways to get these rings off. The downside is that when they remove the ring, it shatters. Unlike gold where they can make a clean cut and salvage the ring, Tungsten shatter into a million piece. Its' called something like "dryfreeze" it...? We figured that if it even came to that, we could suck it up and buy a new one! We went into a dozen stores and they all said the same thing. One lady however said something to the effect of the possibility of Tungsten getting brittle after 30 yrs but that hasn't been proven since, the metal hasn't been around that long yet.... hmmm? Something to think about but she was the only one that pointed that out and again.... 30 yrs later, maybe he deserves a new shiny ring! here my sister's dress Jamon

My FI is british so he wanted to write the date as 20.10.2010 In the end I won with October 21 (it was my grandma's birthday- how could you argue with that!)

The requoted price is close to CAD 300 more per person, grrr! That is completely ridiculous! Isn't that the point of "securing" 10 extra spots When I was dealing with my Signature fiasco back in Jan, I wrote a nasty letter (which wasnt acknowledged btw) AND I called to talk to someone. They wouldn't even talk to me because Romantic Planet was their contact not the bride. It was weird and unsettling. I ended up switching to Air Canada so everyone could get a better price and we could all travel together. I'm out $2700 in the end though, I don't know if it was worth the switch. I really hope you get somewhere with them but if you don't, tell RP to get on it. After all, isn't that why we went with them, so they can fight on our behalves! Hey Mary, maybe this is the crisis Candace is dealing with!!

OH Mary, I PMed you before I read this thread. I feel so sad for you. Personally, I think 1589 is reasonable but you should know I've never flown in May before. I think we all go through the thing where peeple thinks it's too expensive. WHat I did to keep the peace is... I sent an email to those "problem guests" saying that there was always a chance to get a last minute deal however I didn't recommend it. I also researched on expedia.ca and gave them another price. Expedia is always cheaper since usually there are 2-3 more layovers instead of a direct flight. Also, they dont hold like 20+ spots like a group booking would. Airlines sell seats to expedia at a good price because essentially they are "extras" that airlines don't think they'll be able to get rid off. I also explained the layover vs. direct flights to them. And the last thing I did was offered suggestion of other resorts around the area that were cheaper in price. Actually I had 3 ppl take that suggestion. It seems like alot of extra work (and it was!) but I was feeling so guilty. In the end though, I'm glad that I did because if my job had taught me anything in life, it's that People just want options and they want to know you care about their concerns. I know this doesn't solve your problem Mary but maybe it'll make you feel better if you do this. Hope it helps

where are my Calgary girls at? Been quiet in here for a while... Just wanted to give you a heads about the Old Navy sale. There is alot of talk in other forums that Old Navy is having $1/flipflop sale this weekend. I was in ON at market mall this afternoon and she said that this sale is not in Canada. I guess their big flipflop sale was in Feb! Too bad. Just didn't want anyone lining up at 7am on saturday when they dont have to. Have a great LOOOOOONG weekend!

Yes, I think we should all share whatever info we may get. Although I haven't heard anything from Now directly, I talked to my travel agent today and she has sent some emails to Sapphire wedding coordinator's on by behalf. Ironically, she is also in a meeting tonight with a Paradisus rep so hopefully, she may get some info regards to staff, renos ect... I will definatly be sharing all info with you ladies when I find out. In other news.... We bought my FIs ring. It's a tungsten ring with a black microfibre centre. It really is awesome. He tries it on like 10 times a day! haha also, in bigger news... FINALLY found a BM dress for my sis!! That's super exciting since she is sooo high maintenance I didn't think we'd ever find anything EVER! Anyways, just thought I'd give some good news since all the posts seem to be about how frustrated we all are. Plus, losing Lauren to another resort was sad too
-
Tanya- you are sooo sneaky! I LOVE it. Good thing it came in so fast so you have time to sort it out. Wendy- Thats great news about the ring! We bought FI's ring on Sunday and they had his size so it worked out perfect. It's also a Tungsten but with a strip of black microfibre in the centre. It really is awesome. He loves it too... he tries it on like 10 times a day! He's worse than me with dress #1! Here's my wedding news today: bought a BM dress for my sis... and she loves it so we're golden. Look at us go Slackers Club!!!!

I was just at Old Navy this afternoon and was asking about that $1/flipflop sale and she said that Canada had their big sale in February Maybe she was mistaken but I'd check your local Old Navy just in case. No sense getting up at 7 if you don't have to!... not to mention looking like a total tool for waiting in line! haha
