  15. Thanks for sharing Julie. I was able to walk into the store today and purcahse an assortment of 50 for $42.99 (including tax)! Great buy!

This way people also get to choose what they want to eat. So Ipod or CD is what we decided on rather than a live DJ. Hi Girasole, we are having an iPod cocktail hour. I wanted to have the saxophonist from the wedding do the cocktail hour as well but he chagres $400/hr so that would have been $800 all together just for two hours (1 hr ceremony and 1 hr cocktail hr). For the reception we are hoping to have an actual dj since the reception is probably going to be about 3 or 4 hours. Yikes! The dj is costing more than my flowers! Oh well, its once in a lifetime. So far I am not over budget but I am just hoping I don't go over.
  18. Congrats and welcome to the forum. Like Girasole I will also be getting married in Turks & Caicos November 13th 2010. We chose T&C for several reasons: close proximity to Miami, its beautiful beaches, its not overly developed (as in huge sprawling resorts) and it has a true Caribbean feel. It is a little bit more expensive than most other destinations but we have a wonderful wedding coordinator and the resort we chose is more than worth it. Happy planning!

We are still deciding on music for the reception too... Hope your planning is going GREAT! Thanks Bronze!! Planning is going great! Man the prices for djs are tremendously high. Even in Miami you can get a dj for considerably less. I know that you have to have a work permit to do things like this in TC I am thinking of looking into this next or possibly finding out from my dj friends here in Miami if they know any up and coming young djs in TC. Let me know what your WC says please. Hey you're getting super close to your wedding date? Is everything in place? How many ppl do you have booked so far?

  21. Hi Ladies, I am not getting married at Beaches but I am getting married in T&C. Was wondering what options were offered to you ladies in terms of music/djs/entertainment. I am looking for alternatives to what my resort recommends. Anyone book their dj yet and if so do you mind sharing the price and name of the dj. Thanks!

This just came in handy I started searching around for programs on the site because I was pondering this question today wether to do one or not. I think I will be doing it myself and buying the card stock at staples. We aren't doing a sand ceremony, or unity candle, or anything like that so the ceremony is pretty straight forward. In fact the script should take only 30 minutes so I was juggling whether it was even necessary.
  23. Congrats and welcome to the forum. I hope you find it useful, enjoy and happy planning!

Hi Cindy, thanks! I did try on the sample in the store. Then I was fitted for my muslin in February. I should be getting my dress in about August. (they fit you with a sheath of muslin exactly mimicking the dress, then that muslin is sent to the dress maker so that your dress is made exactly for you, not in a size 0 or 2, its actually made to your measurement so you don't need to alter when the dress arrives) I'm still looking for a dress for my TTD though...no luck yet.
  25. I agree be sure to insure your ring. Gem Shield and Chubb are the two best jewelry insurers and trusted and used by a large number of Diamond and Gem brokers for years, but they also have individual policies for people and I have found that in the event something does happen they cut you a check right away....unlike most other insurance companies. Make sure you insure everything and you'll be fine no matter what happens.
