Janine, yes it had pockets and I kept tissues and lip gloss the whole day/night. I wore the dress to the show and we ended up on stage for the audience participation. It was tons of fun seeing all the brides in their dresses the whole night. I was thrilled with how the zipper to corset conversion went. Only the trip to the tailor to pick it up, no alterations needed. I LOVE the dress, very comfy and perfect for running around on the beach. I had the tailor put a small bustle (just a hook and eye on the inside) so it didn't drag at all (when I changed shoes).

Looks like an amazing time. If you are anything like me, I don't know what to do with my time, well this week is booked with the AHR, but otherwise I'm not sure what I'll do next week. Congrats on becoming a MRS!!!!!

We used a microphone (the minister had it) and we had no complaints about not being able to hear, people laughted at appropriate times, so I think it was okay. It was very windy our day but seemed very still for Jenns wedding (not trying to steal her thunder, it was beautiful and such a fun group; hubby and I played water polo with the guys on their wedding day). We had the steel drum band playing but no DJ, fyi.

I'll be posting a review of IRHS, just received notification from Tammy that it has been added as a resort. I hope to have it done by next weekend, although that may be a lofty goal as our AHR is Saturday!! We had dinner at Aunt Ruby's (the steak house)... was the worst service we had all week but the food was good. Stay tuned, I promise I'll get a review done.

We ordered our wedding bands online, Mark wanted a simple hammered band and I wanted an eternity band. Mine was from Mr Jewel on ebay who was great to work with. We ended up ordering a second set from etsy which had our fingerprints on them. We haven’t worn those yet but I plan to use it for work. I can’t see wearing that many diamonds to the clinic every day. I found a hot pink rhinestone starfish ring which I added to my bouquet as well. I will always have a story to tell with the ring. I put it in my carryon when returning from a trip to California and was searched at LAX because the TSA people thought it was a ninja/throwing star. So I guess that makes me a ninja bride!! I made a floating orchid backdrop to be used at the wedding but it was so windy that day that they knotted up and were removed before the ceremony. We just had the pink and white fabric on the huppa but it really popped against the ocean. We had the steel drum band perform as our music and it was worth it. It added a true Jamaican feel to the ceremony. We did the sand ceremony and to make it more islandy, we used red stripe light bottles instead of vases that we used to pour the sand into our vase. I think that’s all but it seems like I did so much more over the past 6 months of planning.

Continued: I found my dress on my first shopping excursion, at Davids no less... It had POCKETS and was shorter in the front, full length in the back. It worked perfectly for our wedding. I had the zipper converted to a corset back just because I like a corset back better and wanted pink on the dress. I also found a second dress on craigslist for my TTD session, which was a blast. I don’t have any pics of that yet. No one was there except the photographers, family was recovering. Everyone on the beach and pool enjoyed seeing us jump in. Shoes were a different story all together. Knowing the ceremony was going to be on the beach, I wanted wedges but dressy ones which are not easy to find. While on a work trip to Vegas I found them and then ended up making the flowers for the shoeclips, I searched youtube and found a tutorial on making yoyo flowers. They are really easy and just require a small amount of synthetic fabric cut into various sizes of circles then the edges are burnt with a lighter to make them cup up into a flower shape. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/63738/diy-shoe-clips-could-be-hair-flower-too I wanted pearls and some sparkle for the jewelry and happened to find a necklace I loved at TJ Maxx. The bracelet was purchased from etsy seller PgsGemspiration. It was perfect and she was a great seller. For our OOT bags (which I never heard of before this site), we ordered from discountmugs.com. I had a great experience with them, I’ve read negative reviews from others on this site. We ordered really early and ended up with plenty left-overs, I guess they will be our grocery bags. Absolutely all our guests loved them. My mom made smaller jute bags that I used for the “hang over kits.†I included aloe, tums, immodium, propel water packs, and ibuprofen in the hang over kits. In the bag, we had flip flops, personalized cups/mugs (which were not needed or used, but they were from dollar tree), sunscreen, flashlights, koozies, an activity book, mints, gum and glow bracelets which we all wore the night of the the wedding. Some even ended up in my bouquet on the cake table. More to come

We just returned from Jamaica and had an amazing time there. Thanks to Tammy for creating and maintaining this amazing site. And thanks to all the girls whose templates I used for all our wonderful wedding creations. Mark and I were engaged over a year ago. I thought he was joking when he proposed. We have both been married before and I vowed never to do it again. Then one evening while getting ready to go out he drops a ring box in my hand and just stares at me; I didn’t know whether to laugh, cry or jump for joy. I guess the answer is obvious now but at the time he wasn’t sure. I did say yes after a few minutes of staring at it. All this happened in our bathroom. After a long decision (and some family drama) we decided on a destination wedding in Jamaica at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites. We took 7 people with us, during our week there we had a 5 yr anniversary, a 10 year anniversary and a 1 year divorcary. My brother did not travel with us as he wouldn’t fly but his fiancé and his daughter were there to represent him. We all had a blast and I can't imagine not doing a DW!!! I have ZERO regrets about this decision. I know they are commonplace here but no one we sent them to had ever seen them. Once again, thanks to the ladies here for the template… it saved many arguments with my new husband. My mom and my brother’s FI helped me cut and assemble them one day which was a life saver. I only sent out about 25 invites, can’t imagine making them for lots of people. I took 8 yards, I found the dimensions of the huppa somewhere in this thread. The plan was for it to be draped over the sides and top but the wind prevented it and Nicole wrapped it around that way instead. The fabric was a sheer organza type fabric.

Here is Karla's blue starfish enjoying some time in Jamaica, sorry I was playing with the flowers the next day, and making sure I had one with my ring and the flowers. I have yet to receive the journal so if I don't get a reply from the bride ahead of me then I will try to find something to jot a note and send it on with the cute little fella.

here is a pic, we took pink fabric that was to be put over the huppa and strings of orchids, the orchids were in knots due to the wind so Nicole took them down and the fabric was attached to the front (again due to the wind). The only "add ons" we did was the steel drum band and flowers for my parents. I'm also sneaking a pic of Jenn's wedding, we watched it from Aunt Ruby's steakhouse which is right behind the huppa.

Hi girls, I'm back, married and had an amazing time!! Everything was great. The wedding day was amazing, slightly windy but amazing none the less. Don't worry about the weather Scorpio, you can't change it or anything at this point, if it rains, the WC will move it indoors. Just make sure you have everything you need and plan on having a blast!!

Hi guys, I just got back last night. Its rainy season and there are chances for rain every day. I was there for 8 days, we had rain 2 days, and a couple of showers the other daysj. When it rained we usually either went and ate and napped or went to the bar pool (under cover); it didn't stop anyone from having an amazing time. Our wedding was on the beach and it was beautiful. It was windy on the beach but my dressed billowed in the wind, one of my husbands guy friends actually mentioned how nice it looked. I took the laid back approach, worked on the oot bags and little things but everything was selected the day we met with the WC. I spent the morning of my wedding relaxing by the pool until lunch when I ordered room service and started to get ready and wait for the photographers. I couldn't imagine having a better day. Excited to get the pics from the photographer, its going to be a long two weeks!!

On a similar note, I'd like to do a wedding review but my resort isn't listed. I tried the add an item button but I don't have permission. Can I get a mod to add Iberostar Rose Hall Suites to the Jamaica section or explain how I get permission to add a resort. I've reviewed the FAQ section and didn't find an answer. Thanks so much!!

Hey guys just got back...actually in airport on a huge layover. The wedding was wonderful as was the weather most of the week. All the details worked out on site. Marcia Roberts was photog and was great to work with. Will post more later but just a quick reassuring note!!! Oh and jamaicajenn's wedding was beautiful too. Great to meet another bdw-er

Thanks all. I can't believe I'll be there in less than 12 hours!!! I'll be sure to let everyone know how everything works out. I'll have to learn how to add a resort so I can write my review. I probably should do a planning thread but all my OOT stuff is in one big bag in the car so I'd like to have pics of them to post, maybe I'll do that when I get back home!!!

Just an update on Karla's Blue Starfish. He is in lovely Tennessee and is being packed for Jamaica as soon as I leave BDW. As much as I hate to, I'm putting him in my checked luggage because I bought a similar but slightly larger starfish ring in California and had my carryon searched for contraband. my cute little pink rhinestone starfish ring was thought to be a ninja throwing star. So the blue fella with his pink companion will be securely stashed in my checked luggage to hopefully prevent me from being searched again! I am still waiting on the journal as brezzie wanted to include a pic with her entry so just the starfish will be travelling to beautiful Jamaica for another wedding. Soon after I return he will be heading to Erin (krishna69z) in Canada.

We leave Thursday (early morning), wedding is Monday. Today is my last day of work and tomorrow is appointments-highlight/cut, wax and manicure followed by packing and hopefully not too many last minute details. I hope to be able to de-stress as soon as I step onto the plane!!! Is 6am too early to start drinking?? When do you arrive? Are you ready??

I just returned from a work trip to California and now I have 3 days to finish all the last minute details and pack (plus 2 days of work). I am happy to be home and think most everything is almost done, just salon trips and pack!!! Wedding in 8 days, I'm so excited.
